The engine shuts off unexpectedly when the automatic start stop system engages. At the same time the engine shuts off, the power steering warning light illuminates and steering assist is lost. The vehicle must be restarted to regain power steering and continue driving. This has occurred on multiple occasions, including while the vehicle was slowing to a stop in traffic. The sudden loss of steering assist while the vehicle is in motion presents an immediate safety risk to the driver, passengers, and surrounding traffic. This appears to be a widespread issue. Other 2024 Jeep Wagoneer owners have reported the same combination of symptoms, sudden stalling paired with power steering warning lights, in complaints already on file with NHTSA. Suspected causes reported by owners and dealers include a failing 12V or auxiliary battery, a Powertrain Control Module fault, and a Power Distribution Center or wiring fault.

Car will shudder and shut off while slowing down. The control panel will change to saying "Push start button to run." This has happened 50+ times, including while in slower traffic on the Interstate. It is very dangerous because I am stopped suddenly in traffic and have to restart the car and put it back in gear in order to move. Car has also started and run, but the control panel remains in the "push button to start" mode while driving, so none of the control panel is available. This is dangerous because I have no idea what my speed is.

While driving my 2022 Jeep Wagoneer at 40-45 mph on a live public road with my four small children in the vehicle, the vehicle suffered a sudden, catastrophic electronic and powertrain shutdown without warning. The engine completely died, and the vehicle immediately and forcefully engaged the electronic emergency parking brake, bringing the vehicle to an abrupt, unexpected halt in the middle of moving traffic.Once stopped, the vehicle completely refused to crank or restart. The electronic shifter and braking system effectively locked the vehicle in place, leaving me and my four young children dangerously stranded inside a dead vehicle in the middle of a live lane, creating an immediate, life-threatening collision hazard from oncoming traffic. The vehicle had to be physically towed away from the scene to a dealership, where it currently sits awaiting diagnosis. This vehicle has a documented history of prior electronic and dashboard glitches that the manufacturer has failed to permanently resolve under warranty. The sudden loss of propulsion combined with autonomous, unwanted emergency brake activation while in motion represents a severe, un-remedied safety defect that put the lives of my entire family at immediate risk.

For the past year I have been dealing with multiple vehicle failures with our 2025 Jeep Wagoneer. I have worked with my dealer a dozen times. Adnt he vehicle has been under service for roughly 13 weeks. Each time the dealership tells me the issue was a software update or they were not able to "recreate the issue". Our 2025 Wagoneer has been stalling out, shifting to park and then requiring a complete restart multiple times per week. This happens at low speed or at idle. On the afternoon of XXX, while driving the vehicle back from a different dealer for service of the same issue the vehicle stalled out completely on [XXX] just outside of [XXX]. Please see attached video. It is more than apparent that this vehicle is faulty and putting me and anyone else in my family that night drive this vehicle at risk. Over the past 7 months I have documented all issues and the dismissiveness of Herb Chambers Jeep Chrysler in Danvers, MA where we purchased/leased the vehicle from. Herb Chambers is stating I have to pay nearly $3000 dollars to exit our current lease. But, this is ridiculous as the vehicle is a danger to drive. Something bad will happen if our vehicle continues to be driven. And given the amount of time and energy I have wasted on trying to resolve these ongoing issues, Jeep/Stellantis, should actually pay me for the inconvenience. - #11749511July 10, 2026ENGINE, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
On at least 6-8 occasions car engine has shut off and car is automatically placed in emergency brake. This then requires you to place car in park, then restart vehicle. This happens while driving on interstate and when car slows down for traffic car engine without warning, will shut off, car will then automatically turn on emergency brake forcing sudden stop in interstate hwy traffic. Very dangerous as you have to place car in Park and restart engine. Cars behind you are now slamming on brakes to avoid rear end collision. This has also occurred while sitting at traffic light when again car engine shuts off and has to be placed in park to restart. There is no warning, no warning lights, no check engine after incident occurs and according to dealership no engine codes recorded due to incident. I have left car at dealership on several occasion for several days. I believe it was replicated at dealership but again it registers no codes in engine computer to help resolve issue. When a car traveling down the interstate suddenly shuts down it is extremely dangerous placing my car and family at risk as well as any traveling behind us. Dealership has not been able to resolve issue. They can update software and the car will go several weeks without issue then suddenly you are back to engine shut down again I am second owner of 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S II Carbine. Purchased at GMC dealership. At time of purchase dealership provided maintenance records which showed no issues of engine failure. Unfortunately Jeep is not going to document this issue and does not appear to have a solution. This is an extreme safety concern

While driving at low speed, the vehicle suddenly shut down completely without any warning. The engine lost power while I was cruising, causing the vehicle to stop responding. On separate occasions, the vehicle has also shut off while idling. This condition creates a serious safety concern because the vehicle can stall unexpectedly in traffic, increasing the risk of a collision. The issue has occurred multiple times and appears to be happening everytime i drive the vehicle. It started nov of 2025 up to now dealership cannot fix the problem.

UNKNOWN I have had this jeep to 3 different dealerships multiple times over the 2 years I have owned it. I am getting my 3rd set of tires put on today. I have put approx 30k on it. It is eating tires. Down to the belt. The vehicle starts to vibrate at 70mph. I just had it aligned in March 2026, they said tires were fine. Vehicle started to vibrate at high speeds again and I took it in. It is so far out of alignment that the belts are showing on the front right tire. I smell burning rubber almost after every drive. This cannot be safe. What is causing is to go out of alignment constantly? I have read multiple threads where this is a known issue and something needs to be done about it, PLEASE

While driving down the freeway at 70mph the sunscreen had a spontaneous sunroof explosion on the freeway. As it flew off the vehicle it damaged the top of the body with deep gouges along to of the vehicle. We had the sunscreen closed over us at the time or my infant daughter would have been seriously hurt by the explosion of glass and the driver and passenger at the time would have had glass raining from them. There was no one in front of us when this occurred and happened with no warning or any visible damage prior to the incident.

Immediately after taking delivery of this brand-new 2024 Jeep Wagoneer L, a severe and violent mechanical vibration was detected while driving at highway speeds. When the vehicle reaches 70 mph and above, the steering wheel shakes aggressively in the driver's hands, and the entire vehicle chassis vibrates violently. This severe shaking impacts vehicle tracking, makes it difficult to maintain steady steering control at cruising speeds, and creates an immediate road safety hazard for the occupants and surrounding traffic. The vehicle is currently unsafe to operate at normal highway speeds.

- #11746347June 24, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system falsely engages under normal driving conditions when no obstacles, vehicles, or other hazards are present. These false activations occurred at very low speeds, while stopped, while parking, and while the vehicle is in neutral. When this happens, the vehicle brakes abruptly, shifts itself into park, and shuts off entirely. This is not normal system operation and creates a significant safety concern because the vehicle has stopped abruptly and disabled itself unexpectedly on numerous occasions while moving. While my vehicle was in neutral and moving through an automatic car wash on a track, the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system malfunctioned. My vehicle shifted itself into park and shut down. This sudden engagement caused the vehicle behind me to collide with the rear of my vehicle. As a result, the driver of the following vehicle has filed a collision claim against my insurance policy. My vehicle has been taken to the dealership 6 times for this AEB-related issue, along with other ongoing concerns, on the following dates: 09/11/25, 10/07/25, 11/12/25, 01/19/26, 03/09/26, and as of 6/05/26 is back at the dealership. The vehicle will unexpectedly shift out of gear at low speeds, requiring me to stop and place it back into gear before I can continue driving. The vehicle is currently at the dealership as of 06/05/26. Despite several repair attempts, the problems have not been resolved. I am extremely concerned that the AEB system will continue to malfunction causing a more serious collision and injury. The dealership was able to reproduce the problem in September; however, they have not been able to reproduce it again since that time. I have attempted to document each malfunction, including photos of the failure messages. I can provide additional information (receipts, video from accident, photos etc.).

Vehicle: 2023 Jeep Wagoneer Mileage at time of incident: 43,400 miles Component: Engine Cooling System / Thermostat Incident Description: This vehicle has experienced two separate thermostat failures since purchase. The first failure occurred the day after I purchased the vehicle, in April 2024, at only 104 miles. This time the vehicle overheated /stall pattern even after confirming coolant was at a sufficient level. The second failure occurred on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 43,400 miles. While driving with my wife, son, and son's friend as passengers, the temperature warning indicator activated, signaling an engine overheating condition. Shortly after, the engine lost power and stalled completely while the vehicle was in the middle of a busy intersection. With the engine off, I had no power assist for steering or braking, which made it extremely difficult to maneuver the vehicle out of the path of oncoming traffic. My family and I were nearly struck by other vehicles while attempting to get the disabled Wagoneer clear of the intersection. The recurrence of this failure at relatively low mileage (43,400 miles on a 2023 model) indicates a potential design or manufacturing defect in the cooling system, not an isolated incident. The second failure resulted in a complete loss of engine power in active traffic, creating an immediate safety hazard to my passengers and to other drivers on the road. Repair history: Failure #1: April 2024, 104 miles Failure #2: June 22, 2026, 43,400 miles Cost of most recent repair: Approximately $2,000

- #11745882June 23, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, UNKNOWN OR OTHER, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION
I’ve had issues with the blind spot sensors. After driving a mile or two on open road, the warning pops up saying “Blind Spot sensors unavailable” then the lights on the mirror stay on. This was happening a few months ago so the right sensor was replaced. Now it’s happening again. In a vehicle that is two years old this shouldn’t be an issue.

While driving my car engine just shuts off without any warning. My car had a message on the dash after the engine stopped saying to shift the car to park and the emergency parking brake came on. I had to switch my four ways on in the middle of the road. If this happened on a busier street my vehicle would have been hit because I could not drive my car to the side of the road. It was just a dead stop without any notice there was a problem. No dash lights before the engine stopped or anything. Just messages stating to put the car in park after the problem. I have two little girls who are regularly in my vehicle with me and it is scary to think that my Wagoneer engine can just decide to shut off at anytime with no warning.

- #11745026June 18, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The vehicle experienced a charging system failure while driving. The battery warning light illuminated and battery voltage dropped to approximately 11.7 volts while the engine was running. The vehicle continued to discharge the battery while being driven, creating a risk of loss of electrical power and possible vehicle shutdown. Diagnostic trouble codes included P0562 (System Voltage Low), P0BDE (Drive Motor Inverter Temperature Sensor E Circuit High), and P0AEE (Drive Motor Inverter Temperature Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance). The charging system was inspected by an independent repair facility. The serpentine belt was verified to be functioning properly and related fuses were checked. The repair facility diagnosed a failure of the 48-volt eTorque Belt Starter Generator (Motor Generator Unit/MGU). The replacement part is reportedly on backorder. The condition is repeatable and occurs during normal driving. The battery warning lamp and low voltage condition were observed and documented. This failure creates a potential safety concern because the vehicle can lose charging capability while operating on public roads.

- #11744980June 18, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
This happened twice but the second time could've caused a serious accident. I was turning left through an intersection and the vehicle on the opposite side of the road was turning left (we were going opposite directions) When the other vehicle got "close" to me (not close enough to crash) my collision assistance/automatic emergency braking stopped my car in the middle of the intersection with other people turning also behind me. I had to put my car in park and then in drive again to get it going. it was very scary and if anyone wasn't paying attention it would've cause a collision in an intersection which the safety feature was trying to avoid. I have since turned that off and only get visual alerts to brake.
