The car will randomly lose acceleration and jerk forward. It will make a beeping noise while the hev system warning flashes on the dash. It also says to turn off engine. While the warning is flashing and engine light is on it goes into a limp mode and you have limited acceleration. It has almost caused multiple wrecks when I go to acceleration from turning or at lights in traffic because I cant go over 20-30 mph. I have turned the car on and off and the hev system and engine light turns off and the car continues to work normal. It eventually comes back on and does the same loss of power/hev warning. It will be random and does not matter on how fast you are going to trigger the warning lights and loss of power.

I bought this car before less than 3 months when. When I was drive the car on [XXX] the car just stop stopped no power without any warning when the car stop I just came from home. It’s far it’s like the distance between my home and the place the car stop in the highway. It’s like 5 miles. when I park the car to the side road right side road I open the hood. I see some smoke coming from the engine and smell like fire or burn or some plastic fire. I’m a mechanic he said before I bring the mechanic I seen that the screen light it’s like a car with the key in the middle of the car. The picture is the light the car stop starting. I thought I call somebody he told me maybe the car is the program or disconnect. We need to program it or they bring the battery I bring a battery. I tried to start the car again. It’s not working the mechanic. He told me that starter. I bought the starter and I start in the car. You still not working they told me after that. They told me the battery maybe I checked the battery I took the AutoZone. I took the battery. It was 95%. I called the company and the company. If they check the car, they say the car they have to recall just I get appointment with them the first time on October 1, 2025, but when I take the car there the end VIN number different with an appointment not my car. I get another appointment October 8. I told the car over there. Dixie Highway highway Louisville Kentucky. When I arrive to the car dealership in Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY they told me your car is rebuilt title. I told them what they mean. He said we can’t do nothing with it because it’s built. I told them why they didn’t tell me before I wouldn’t give the car here. They told me to bring the car appointment before you get appointment. You have to check the car as if you can see it’s built you are a company Even that time I don’t know what’s rebuilt car mean , idk if Hyundai worry just about people they have clean title? I am reporting a recurring and unresolved hybrid system failure in my 2015 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited that poses an ongoing safety risk to me and my family. The issue involves a "Hybrid System Warning – Safely Stop and Do Not Drive" message that appears randomly while driving, causing the vehicle to jerking and creating dangerous conditions on the road. This issue first occurred in February 2024 and has persisted through October 2025 despite repeated service visits and costly out-of-pocket repairs. The hybrid battery was eventually replaced after 8+ months of delays, but the exact same warning and jerking symptoms returned in March 2025 and have never been properly resolved. The dealership (Crown Hyundai in St. Petersburg, FL) and Hyundai corporate case management have been unable to replicate or diagnose the problem consistently, and continue returning the vehicle to me in unsafe condition. On October 3, 2025, the same warning reappeared and the vehicle was dropped off again for yet another service attempt. Again on October 7, 2025, I was told to pick up my car, they could not replicate the issue and could not find a code to respond to. To date, I’ve paid $1,748.65 for a repair (air flappers) that did not solve the issue, and spent months without use of the vehicle, continuing to pay for insurance during that time. I believe this is a defective hybrid propulsion system that meets the threshold for investigation and possibly a recall, given the repeat safety risk and lack of resolution. Please investigate this matter for the safety of other drivers as well.

Was driving on the interstate, and took the exit I needed. Upon exiting before coming up to stop light, noticed check engine light flashing, and couldn't accelerate. RPMS were bouncing when I tried to accelerate. Pulled off onto side of road, called mechanically inclined friend who came with an obd2 sensor, and it was showing a P132600 code for Knock signal range performance, with an audible knocking sound, and engine vibration while on in idle. Got the code cleared so we could drive the car the 3 miles I needed to go to get to where I was going, 2 miles in, the engine light came back on and vehicle went back into limp mode. Called AAA and got the car to an in network mechanic shop for Carvana, whom i bought the car through a month prior. Proceeded to do an oil sample test and found it to be full of metal shavings. Said engine would need to be fully replaced. Vehicle is currently still at mechanic until SilverRock gets the claim and will see if the engine replacement is covered under warranty. The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that the engine was consuming an abnormal amount of engine oil. No warning light was illuminated. In addition, occasionally while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost automotive power. The local dealer was contacted, and the contact was advised that the vehicle could not be repaired under an unknown NHTSA Campaign because the vehicle had a Rebuilt Title. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted; however, no assistance was provided. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

While driving, my 2015 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T experienced severe knocking and loss of power due to a KSDS-related engine defect. The check engine light was inoperative, and the engine now makes loud noises and emits fumes. Hyundai declined warranty coverage despite known KSDS issues. This poses a serious safety concern ( I recently purchased the car and been fixing problems every since)

What the consumer services tried to offer (More Information for case)me, instead of a replaced engine that is under my warranty. They have replaced engines before over the mileage as goodwill warranty, but refuse to do the necessary work because of mileages. KSDS is designed for any mileage, and they put a mileage limit on the vehicles warranty, that not just I, but multiple people purchased; where the justice

Purchased the vehicle and immediately noticed a drip in the driveway. I was concerned so I started checking the dip stick. I booked a diagnostic appointment with a Hyundai Service Center. I wanted to be sure I purchased a quality vehicle. Upon what i thought was a complete diagnostic, a cracked oil pan was discovered. I agreed to purchase and pay out of pocket, everything else had checked out. I was told I could drive while I waited for the pan to come in, service was scheduled. The car never made it back. I continued to check the dipstick but while driving on a very busy interstate, the engine light went on and lost power. I barely managed to get to the breakdown lane. A complete safety hazard. I was towed to the closest garage where the owner suggested he see’s 3-4 of these a week. He would not touch it, have it towed to Hyundai. I paid for another diagnostic and now a flat bed tow. Key Hyundai of Salem NH accepted the vehicle. I paid another $498 to have an “engine tear-down” send a detailed finding report to Corporate. I called Corporate and filled my own case number. I was denied by Corporate, I was told I was a subsequent owner. The dealership didn’t match, I’m denied because the engine didn’t seize because of Rod issue. Well Hyundai is praying upon consumers. They knowingly initiated the KDS Recall and installed sensors to place a vehicle in “Limp Mode” so the rod isn’t the issue and they deny coverage. I paid a private mechanic verify cylinder 3 has low compression. Had the car not gone into “Limp Mode” the rod bearings would have failed.

There was a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid transmission-related shift cable recall, Campaign 123, which covered certain 2011-2014 Sonatas (including some 2011-2015 Hybrids). The recall addressed the potential for the transmission shift cable to detach from the shift lever pin, which could prevent the car from being fully in park and potentially lead to rollaway

take.a break warning light is a hazard and distraction and is not accurate at all. i am not a new driver but this id not s safety feature it is such a distraction and is not consistent. i am not going in and out of the lane and even with both hands on the wheel it still goes off about every 90 seconds even at the beginning if some drives after about 3 miles. it is nig consistent and causes you to panic at times when the alarm sounds there is absolutely no way to disarm this. i am [XXX] and do the safe driving course every four years. this is a menace and i do t expect any results but i will not keep this car. going to trade it in on american car. my third and kadt hyundai INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from under the hood. No warning lights were illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the engine hesitated while turning over. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the long block kit and engine needed to be replaced. The contact was advised that due to the mileage and aftermarket engine in the vehicle, the recall repairs were denied. The contact related the failure to Hyundai Service Campaign: 953. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 216,301.

- #11690938October 2, 2025ENGINE, POWER TRAIN, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The affected component is the engine/rod bearing (Theta II 2.4L). My 2011 Hyundai Sonata stalled and the engine locked up twice in live traffic (March 2025 and July 2025). The vehicle is available for inspection if needed. This created a serious safety risk to me and others on the road, as the stall occurred on [XXX] at highway speeds. This failure could have been catastrophic had it happened on the DC/Baltimore Beltway or another high-traffic roadway. Hyundai’s system shows Recall 132 was marked complete at very low mileage (around 32,000 miles), but my vehicle later developed oil consumption and stalling consistent with rod bearing failure. Capitol Heights Hyundai noted a warranty pre-authorization (PA) in March 2025 and told me Hyundai needed my mailing address “for the claim,” but later said it was a typo and that no record exists. The dealership charged me for a diagnostic but did not inspect the vehicle for rod bearing failure, despite symptoms consistent with Recall 132. Annapolis Hyundai, where the car was purchased as a CPO, has admitted they have no documentation that Recall 132 was ever performed (no repair order, mileage, or technician notes). Yet Hyundai’s system shows Recall 132 marked “complete.” Without proof that the KSDS software or bearing inspection was done, I belive this recall should be considered open. Hyundai Consumer Affairs has stated that I must pay for towing and diagnosis before they will investigate, with possible reimbursement later. This conflicts with federal law (49 U.S.C. § 30120), which requires recall diagnosis and repair at no cost to the consumer. Prior to the failures, my vehicle had a history of oil consumption and “no oil on dipstick” findings, which are known precursors to rod bearing failure. No warning lamps appeared before the stalls. I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in requiring Hyundai to provide documentation or reopen Recall 132 and perform a no-cost inspection/repair to ensure this vehicle is safe to operate INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF

My car has had excessive oil consumption for over a year. Hyundai looked at it. Did something to fix it for a couple months and now it’s back worse then ever and they don’t want to do anything about it.

I am the proud owner of a 2011 Hyundai Sonata this is my 3rd sonata; we love it due to the worry free long last and warranty. Never had any issues through the years until last night ([XXX]). When getting off from work 6:15PM heading home for about 30 mins. I was driving my car approximately 35 mph when I went to turn a corner suddenly, my car started sputtering, knocking sound and failed to accelerate having traffic behind me not to cause an accident I put my hazard flashers on, and I lean over to the right on grass. Puzzled and scared saying to myself “ What the Hecks” what’s going on. The car parked on the side was having hard time staying on and shut down. I then went and opened the hood to check to make sure nothing was in my engine causing it, everything looked normal except, the smell of oil has a burnt smell to it which means in technical terms it has thrown a rod and bent valves and smell of burned electric. Finally, we called AAA, they advised their busy and it will be about 2 hrs. So, I sat there to wait for AAA. As I sat in my car waiting, I started researching online. I currently do not have any recalls or ever got any notice. I came across there is an active class action lawsuit going on for the rod bearing going out in these models and years. After some time, I called AAA back to get an ETA, they told us they were extremely busy, it would be about another 45 mins. At that time another tow company pulled up and asked if we needed a tow, we didn’t want to wait longer for AAA to get home so decided to have it towed home … totally cost $175. Today I am trying to contact Hyundai to see what we going to do regarding my car and praying it can get fixed on this recall that I had no idea and thanks God, I turned it off my car could start a fire & burned up. I never got notice about recalls for my engine and It’s sad Hyundai does contact owners ahead to let them know about this problem, think about it we are talking about lives. Thank you for taking INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFO
