My vehicle started cycling between all of the check engine types of lights to include the emissions system. When taking it to my local Honda dealership, they determined that it was my front camera (multi-purpose camera internal failure). After some research and speaking to the service department, this major safety failure has been happening to many other Honda vehicles. The emissions system failure seems to also be a faulty design. I feel that the camera system failure could have resulted in an accident or major injury. And of no fault of my own. My vehicle is regularly maintained and is merely 6 years old. I should not be replacing a mayor system like the front camera every 6 years.

My 2019 Honda Odessey has had transmission issues since the very beginning. I've experienced jerking/shaking, hesitation before accelerating, delayed shifting, sudden loss of power. Fortunately none of this has resulted in any accident or injury. Unfortunately, yesterday (4/4/2026) I got charged $271.34 to have to transmission warning light read only to be told, "we cleared all dtc then test drove the vehicle. No dtc found after we drove the car...if the consumer complain again he will have to replace the transmission." Of course the warning light appeared again today. The dealership seems to be completely unaware of the multitude of transmission issues documented even though this appears to be a known and well documented defect based on the class action lawsuit Browning, et al. v. American Honda Motor Co., Inc., et al. They charge me for the analysis and send me on my way as if they have no idea what is going on with my vehicle. I am the sole owner and have kept the vehicle well maintained at Leith Honda, 3940 Capital Hills Drive, Raleigh, NC 27616 and I have had all manufacturers recalls handled in a timely manner. I'm sure they can provide service records if needed. The bottom line is they are not being fully transparent and I am paying for their lack of transparency and more importantly putting me and my family at risk by not disclosing the potential risk due to the faulty transmission in these vehicles.

- #11729173April 4, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, STEERING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
While driving on a clear road, with or without heavy traffic, the collision mitigation warning shows up on the dashboard display. Sometimes the warning for the collision system goes off and the system tries to brake and jerk the wheel. If I have the wheel firmly I can correct it and it resolves. It can happen on a clear road with no one around or in heavy traffic. Yesterday it happened in a single lane with barriers on both sides, a road around Logan Airport in Boston, with no vehicles ahead of me. The car tried to steer me into the barrier. I was doing less than 25 MPH. The warning had been going off for a while but now that the steering and braking are involved it’s much more serious. I reported it to the dealer. They said they did a system check and couldn’t find a fault. The braking and steering problem first occurred about a month ago. The warning by itself has been happening intermittently for over a year. This happens even when the collision mitigation system is turned OFF. This is a terribly unsafe issue. If my wife had been driving I don’t know if she could have corrected. PLEASE ACT AND ISSUE A RECALL!

On Interstate 65 4/4/2026 during light traffic, after a rain storm, however with no rain currently occuring, our vehicle experienced an event where the collision avoidance system dropped out speed from 70 miles an hour to 35, nearly causing a rear end clission with a vehicle behind us. The dashboard made no indication of any occurance, and the breaking seemed to occur with no indicator of there being anyting in front of us at the time of the incident. This has occured before however after rainstorms, and while attempting to make left hand turns. This however was the first incident in which it clearly caused a near miss collision event.

In November 2024, the engine of my 2015 Honda Odyssey misfired and I had all spark plugs replaced. The vehicle had 102, 171 miles on it. The issue was resolved at that time. On April 1, 2026 the engine misfire returned, check engine light came on and the repair shop advised that again the engine is having the same issue. The vehicle now has 117,000 miles on it. This does not appear to be an isolated case as I have read several other similar complaints.

- #11729061April 3, 2026SERVICE BRAKES
I am reporting a recurring and dangerous brake system failure in my 2010 Honda Odyssey. Intermittently, when the vehicle is first started, the brake pedal becomes completely stiff and cannot be depressed at all. During these events, the brakes are effectively non-functional until the condition resolves, creating a serious safety hazard. This issue occurs without warning and has happened on multiple occasions. This defect is especially dangerous because it prevents normal braking operation at startup, increasing the risk of a collision if the vehicle is moved or if immediate braking is required. I have attempted to repair this issue extensively. The vehicle has been inspected by three separate repair facilities, including a Honda dealership. The following components have been replaced in an effort to resolve the problem: •Master cylinder •Brake booster •Rotors •Brake lines •ABS system Despite these repairs, the issue persists unchanged. I have spent over $2,500 attempting to fix what appears to be a systemic defect. The Honda dealership suggested the issue may be caused by air entering the brake lines when the vehicle is parked on a slope. However, this explanation is not consistent with normal automotive function, and similar vehicles do not exhibit this behavior under the same conditions. Given the repeated failure of major brake system components to resolve the issue, I believe this represents a defect in the vehicle’s braking system that could affect other vehicles of the same model. I am submitting this complaint due to the serious safety risk posed by intermittent loss of braking function and request that this issue be investigated.

Both power sliding doors are malfunctioning, with the left side being critical. The dashboard intermittently flashes "Door Open" and "Left Sliding Door Problem" warnings during travel, regardless of speed or road conditions (highway, low-speed, and cornering). A certified Honda technician (Case #16203079) confirmed DTC B2037 is stored for the left sliding door ratchet switch. The diagnostic report explicitly states the rear latch is failed/stuck in the open position, resulting in a half-latched state that "CAN OPEN WHILE DRIVING." The right door also shows intermittent issues with the ratchet switch and pinch sensor. Despite this documented, life-threatening safety defect, American Honda has refused repair assistance. I have video evidence of the warnings flashing while in motion.

I am reporting a dangerous and recurring transmission defect in my 2018 Honda Odyssey equipped with the ZF 9-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle experiences sudden and unpredictable delayed acceleration, particularly at low speeds. When attempting to accelerate from a complete stop or at speeds below 25 mph, the transmission fails to engage properly, leaving the vehicle stranded in the middle of traffic with no power response for several seconds. This creates an extreme safety hazard, as other vehicles may collide with mine while I wait for the transmission to respond. The condition is intermittent and unpredictable, making it impossible to anticipate when it will occur. It happens most frequently when accelerating from intersections, merging into traffic, or navigating through slow-moving areas. Honda has acknowledged this defect through TSB 19-124 (issued December 2019), which addresses harsh and jerky upshifts in 2018–2019 Odysseys with the 9-speed transmission. However, the TSB does not fully resolve the issue. A class action lawsuit [XXX] et al. v. American Honda Motor Co., Case No. 5:23-cv-05011-BLF, N.D. [XXX] ) is currently pending for this exact defect. I am requesting that NHTSA open a formal investigation and consider issuing a safety recall, as the delayed acceleration constitutes a serious risk of collision and injury. - #11728870April 2, 2026AIR BAGS
I was merging onto I-85 with my sister was in the front passenger seat, and my son was behind me on the driver's side. I heard a very loud bang/pop and looked to my right and immediately saw the curtain airbag deploying on the passenger side. I did not feel anything to indicate I hit something, no noise, no beeping from my vehicle safety features, no shake of the steering wheel to indicate I veered off the road. Nothing of that nature. I was able to get to the shoulder of the highway safely, despite not being able to see out of the passenger side of the vehicle due to the deployed airbags. It was confusing and disorienting because I knew we were not involved in a crash, but the airbags still deployed. I called 911 and started assessing any injuries for my son or my sister. The police arrived a short time later and opened the front passenger door and immediately cut the airbag to assess the situation. The police officer said there was no visible damage to the van and no other vehicle nearby to indicate a collision. I asked if the tire blew and he said no, he couldn't see any damage. This was an incredibly dangerous situation that could have ended with serious injury or worse. We were traveling on an interstate and the airbag deployment could have injured me and prevented me from getting off the road. In addition, the airbag deployed right where my younger son's car seat is. He would have suffered serious injury had he been in the vehicle when this happened. The shop doing the repair ran computer diagnostic testing and I instructed them to keep all parts that are being replaced. The van has been inspected by a Honda body shop manager as well as an American Honda technician. There were no warning lights or indications before the airbag deployment.

The Auto Idle Stop system on my 2025 Honda Odyssey fails to restart the engine when the brake pedal is released quickly after a full stop. When this occurs, the vehicle stalls completely in traffic and must be manually restarted by the driver. This has happened multiple times and is reproducible. The failed component is the Auto Idle Stop/engine restart system. The vehicle is available for inspection. My safety and the safety of others has been put at risk multiple times because the vehicle stalled at traffic lights in active traffic, leaving me unable to accelerate through an intersection. The problem has been confirmed by Honda Marysville dealership. The dealer stated they could not repair the issue and advised me to modify my driving behavior as a workaround. No repair was performed. The vehicle has been inspected by the selling dealership. A message appears during the failure telling me to restart the car. The problem first appeared within the first year of ownership on a brand new vehicle with basically zero miles at purchase. The cause appears to be a defect in the Auto Idle Stop restart system that fails under specific braking conditions.

- #11728410March 31, 2026VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, POWER TRAIN
I am reporting a safety issue involving my 2019 Honda Odyssey transmission. Since early ownership, the vehicle has had ongoing hesitation and delayed response when accelerating, especially during gear shifts. Over time, this condition has worsened and now includes intermittent loss of power when pressing the accelerator, followed by sudden jerking or lurching forward. The most serious incident occurred recently when the vehicle unexpectedly shifted into park while moving in a parking lot, creating a dangerous and unsafe condition. Additionally, there have been multiple instances where the vehicle hesitated in intersections, creating a risk of collision due to lack of response when attempting to accelerate. Honda dealership technicians have acknowledged that these vehicles are known to have rough or problematic shifting, indicating this may be a broader issue. The final issue has resulted in the vehicle being towed to the dealership for a full evaluation.

When stopped at a red light, the vehicle’s auto off system turned the engine off. When the light turned green and I removed my foot from the brake, the engine stalled and would not restart. I pushed the start button several times, put the vehicle in park, pushed the start button a few more times, and finally got it to restart. Luckily, this happened leaving my neighborhood and not in a more precarious situation. This has happened approximately 20 times now. I’ve had the vehicle inspected by the dealer. They could not replicate the issue, but acknowledged that Honda knows it is an issue. They aren’t willing to fix it until there is a recall on the vehicles. In the meantime, I have a one year old vehicle that sputters and struggles to restart more often than not. I have had the vehicle stall like this after the auto off system turned the engine off when trying to merge into traffic on the interstate. I had a near miss to an accident at that time because the vehicle stalled and would not restart.

All Honda Sensing / ADAS safety warnings appear at the same time while driving or shortly after starting the vehicle. When this happens, all driver assistance systems are disabled, including: •Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) •Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS) •Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) •Road Departure Mitigation •Automatic High Beam When the failure occurs, the vehicle displays multiple safety system warnings and the entire driver assistance system shuts down, leaving the vehicle without any ADAS safety features.
