STEERING
i have a 2023 HRV AWD. We test drove it and bought it with the lane assist on. We had never had a vehicle with lane assist and thought it was something we needed to get accustomed to using. It grew irritating so I turned it off. We soon realized it was something else. The steering would stick and jerk. This vehicle is unsafe to drive and cannot be driven in rain or snow. We reported it in January and were told Honda is aware of the issue and working to fix it. In March I took it in for service and asked what was taking so long. They wanted to wait until I brought it back in, to file a report. So on May 3, they told me they're waiting for the Honda district manager to contact them, and they're still waiting. Twice they have test driven it and agreed there is a problem. In January they even test drove a new HRV, after turning off the lane assist, on the lot with the same problem.

I'm reporting two issues: 1) The gas gauge (the 3rd circle on instrument panel) keeps going out. Over the 18 months, when starting the car on cold mornings, the gas gauge would show blank, I can't see how much gas I have in the car. After about 10 minutes, the gas gauge information would show up. I initially associated the issue with starting the car in cold weather, but in the last couple of months, the gas gauge will start flickering in & out as I'm driving. These have been on warm days I have been driving at least 30 minutes or more before the issue starts. Nothing unusual happens before the issue starts. The risk part is that you could run out of gas and not know it because you can't see the dial. I asked the dealer to look at the issue when the car was inspected this year and last year and they aren't seeing any error code related to it. 2) The drivers side door lock has on a few occasions been hard to lock from the inside. When I try to push down the lock switch, it is very hard to push and the click sound is very loud with an associated metal grinding sound. It's becomes a risk if I'm not able to lock by car to protect my safety or my possessions.

I was driving on the freeway and my rear window shattered. There was no potholes or cars next to me. I had turned off the rear defroster 2 miles before it shattered. Sometimes the driver side and passenger windows wont go all the way up. They stop and go back down.

The contact owns a 2023 Honda HR-V. The contact stated while in stop and go traffic there was an abnormal explosion heard. The contact pulled over on the side of the road and noticed that the rear windshield had shattered without impact. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but no assistance was provided. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 4,600. The VIN was not available.

This exact message was displayed on the infotainment screen when i started my car on march 9th 2023, march 15th and march 25th. The first time it happened i took the car back to the dealer as I had just picked it up from them approximately 2weeks prio after they had finished repairing the electrical system from a prior complaint about the car that i made to NHTSA.GOV in January 3rd 2023: "system lost power and is acquiring its location from the GPS satellites. This usually takes less than 10 minutes. * Start the engine. * Park the vehicle in an open area away from trees, power lines, and tall buildings. * Remove loose articles, mobile phones, or electrical accessories located near the GPS antenna. * If this screen is displayed repeatedly when starting the vehicle, see your dealer."

Vehicle was off and parked in a parking lot from 7:30AM-3:30PM on a partly sunny, calm, 50 degree day with the rear window facing southeast and parked a safe distance from the front bumper of the vehicle behind it. Upon return to the vehicle, the rear window had shattered into smithereens with a softball sized hole in the top left quadrant. After opening and closing the front passenger door, the entire rear window collapsed. There was no evidence of a strike from a person or a thing among the ruble.

Transmission completely failed while driving. Was able to complete the extended warranty update for known transmission issues prior to exceeding the 150K mileage. I am not convinced the dealer looked for signs of wear at the time of updating the software.

Lease Car: I waited for the light to turn green and proceed into the intersection going east. The other driver was going south and went through the red light hitting my L/D door, fender,bumper, air bag deployed hit me in the face causing swollen bruised eye. Car was towed as of now there is $15,709 damage with drivers side seat belt on National-Global back order. Due to this being a safety item no after market parts are allowed no seat belt to be found. Car is held up in the body shop they will not release. American Honda stated they have no release date on this seat belt called 13 times, called Insurance company will not total car, call dealership no help. 12 months left on lease I am paying for a car I can not drive with no ETA. I am afraid of this front end wher the strutts were bent, tire bent front end complete repair. Honda bulletin states, the seat frame, seat belt must be replaced if air bag is deployed safety item. I trying to get compensation from Honda to return the lease car but the body shop will not release the car. I am a senior who is still working with no transportation to work need help resolving this problem.

Rack and Pinion failing. Jerky and hard steering. I took it in to Honda and they told me it was the rack and pinion and the part wouldn’t be in until May 2023. They continued to have me drive it and told me it was safe to drive.

UNKNOWN My rear windshield popped/shattered as I was driving on a rural highway at roughly 60 mph. I did not go under an over pass and there were no other cars nearby. The window simply exploded seemingly spontaneously. I believe I had the rear window defroster going at the time or shortly before as it was a cold day. It has not been inspected by Honda. There were no warning lamps or messages and there were no apparent issues with the rear window before it broke.

2017 HONDA HRV CVT Has Issues with Transmisson Fill plug Popping off under normal driving conditions and acceleration (Such as merging into the highway) allowing for contaminants and debris too directly get into transmisson resulting in Transmisson failure/ issues.
