ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The dealership changed the oil on my 2020 Honda Fit, and the Oil Life display was reset to 100%, on 1/8/24. Two days later the LCD panel, which shows the fuel gauge, odometer, remaining range, oil life, etc. began to intermittently go blank or become garbled and unreadable. This has continued to happen without warning. Especially with respect to the fuel gauge, I believe this is a safety issue, since my only indication of low fuel may occur only when (and if!) the low fuel warning goes on. I had scheduled an appointment to have the dealership look at the panel, but cancelled it when I learned that 1. this has apparently been a common problem in the Honda Fit since at least the 2015 models and 2. the dealership would charge me a $160 diagnostic fee. My car is six months out of warranty, but has only 7,230 miles on it. I no longer feel safe driving moderate to long distances, since the instrument panel is no longer reliable.

The paint has begun peeling off the roof of our vehicle after only 45,000 miles and 3 and a half years of ownership. There is no external damage to the vehicle and the paint job is clearly defective. We were given the runaround by our local dealer until the warranty period expired and now are being told it is our responsibility to fix.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The instrument cluster on the right side of the dash intermittently fails at random times for unexpected durations. Some days, the screen will fail for days/hours at a time and others will be a minute or so. This is a safety issue because the cars total mileage is read off of this digital display along with the fuel remaining the tank. many other people are having the same issue from the same generation of Honda Fits. This should be a recall.

AIR BAGS
There have been multiple airbag system warning lights on my Honda Fit over the past couple of months. Initially, the driver side airbag inflator warning illuminated and I was able to reset it. Now the passenger side inflator is setting off the warning and it won't reset.

While driving my regular commute to work with the radio on, the radio and interior lights (not sure if headlights because I can't see them) flashed on and off and the power steering warning light flashed on and off. At that time, the car jerked and I lost power steering for a moment. This happened several times and the radio stopped working. This did not happen on the way home, but reoccured a few days later. I made an appointment with the dealer They had my car for the day and were not able to locate the issue, but they fixed my radio and told me to bring it back if it happened again. They checked alternator, fuses, and looked for an electrical short. A few weeks later, it happened again, I brought the car back and they could not find the problem, but fixed the radio. The car was fine for a month and it is happening again. Losing power steering while driving is a serious safety hazard for myself and others.

Body - constant water leaks in side the font footwells of the car. Sometimes it can be as much as a quart, was taken in to the deal for repair yet is still continues on both passages and driver side. This problem has been note web sites for many years. Electrical - the gauge which indicates the fuel, milage and oil constantly goes of and on. this a short than has been noted on many web sites. Estimated cost take out and re-soder the wires is over $500-

the rear window exploded spontaneously while parked on the side of a state highway overlooking the [XXX] - no rock or reason was noted for the window's explosion. Honda refused warranty coverage; we had to pay a 1k deductible to a body repair firm. this was a safety hazard at the least. This vehicle has not been inspected by dealership, nor insurance. Suddenly all warning lamps(LKAP, RDMP, CMSP, ABP with the Break System) went on. Im just affraid of an accident that could be caused by the failure of the systems. Lamps have been on for at least 4 months. It also had a recall for the fuel system, it was supposed to been taken care at a dealership but now the engine lamp is on as well with fuel emissions system. Yes, this vehicle is available to be inspected at any time. Im just don't feel safe driving it.

The floor of the driver seat and the floor of the front passenger seat continuously flood after it rains. I have dried the floors with a vacuum and checked for any potential leaks or blockages. However, I cannot find any blockages or leaks that are causing the floors of the car to flood, and it continues to flood after it rains. Besides the floors, nothing else is wet--the seats themselves are dry, and the steering wheel and dashboard all look dry. I am worried this water can lead to the floors rotting or retaining water and having mold--which will be a health concern.

The odometer is digital only. It started to fail in the last couple months in that the digits would appear jumbled (unintelligible) or would be completely blank. Consequently, I am then unable to see my fuel gauge as well as mileage/oil life, which I believe poses a safety concern. If it fails completely then I am unable to tell when I need an oil change and, worse, when I am out of gas. Fortunately, it functions normally every now and then, particularly in warmer weather. I will be mentioning this to the local mechanic this week but have not contacted the local Honda dealership and have not had this investigated beyond my own experiences. As a side note, the last time I went to the Honda dealership (for an A/C issue), they were unable to diagnose the issue after numerous, expensive visits. Went to the local mechanic who fixed it immediately and cost only $25. I researched this issue and appears there is a community of Honda Fit owners who are experiencing this, many with graver experiences than mine. The contact owns a 2019 Honda Fit. The contact stated that on two separate occasions, the vehicle suddenly accelerated without warning. The first time, the contact stated that while driving at a low rate of speed, the vehicle independently lurched forward without warning before the vehicle corrected itself and resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to a dealer; however, the failure could not be duplicated and no fault was found with the vehicle. A year later while the contact's husband had come to a complete stop at a stop sign; the vehicle's engine began to rev while making a right turn. The vehicle then independently accelerated as the contact's husband attempted to avoid hitting a barrier in the middle of a traffic circle. The contact's husband steered the vehicle off the road and drove the vehicle into some rocks and shrubbery which flattened the front passenger tire and damaged the front end of the vehicle. The air bags did not deploy during the incident and no injuries were reported. A police report was filed and the vehicle was towed back to the dealer. The vehicle had yet to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10, 800.

The gauge cluster started flickering in cold weather only. I asked Honda to review it and take a picture of the problem and explain. Every explanation online for this existing problems seems to be cracked solder joints. Yet HONDA wants to charge me 1.1K the replace the entire system for what they vaguely described as “internal error” if it was internal error, I’d see lot more of a problem with the computer system. It’s obvious it’s the connections that are wrong. The board is probably fine. Yet they want to charge me 1.1K for a KNOWN problems thousands of other Hondas have experienced. This is not fair. I’ve never filled this out but this happened right after my warranty ran out. I can’t afford to fix this. I won’t be able to see my fuel gauge, or any weird oil change errors that pop. That is a safety issue. I can’t see my mileage. Or oil percentage. Can anyone help me? There’s so many cases of this on Reddit.

The gauge cluster pod that displays the fuel gauge and the odometer blanks out and/or completely scrambles to gibberish. This is apparently a common problem with a few Honda models and seems to stem from the incorrect manufacturing of the part. This is a safety issue since without a fuel gauge the vehicle can unexpectedly run out of gas at any time, stranding the driver and passengers in precarious situations. Further, without an odometer the owner can miss required scheduled maintenance.

The contact owns a 2017 Honda Fit. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, the instrument cluster started to flicker. The contact stated that the speedometer, fuel gauge, and other gauges were fluctuating. The contact stated that the failure became a regular failure and occurred at various speeds. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the clutch gauge needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.

We own a 2016 Honda Fit with 52,000 miles, and the fuel gauge/speed/odometer display does not work. It completely fails in the cold. This is major safety issue since we can't read the fuel level nor see how fast or slow I'm driving. Our car is currently at the Conicelli Honda dealership. After trying to get this fix or diagnosed for years, Conicelli thinks the problem is a loose or failing solder joint. I spoke with Honda and they is no current recall on this problem. That said and apparently, it is a common issue based on a YouTube video, [XXX] . This is major safety issue that should not fail at 52,000 miles. Last evening the interior vehicle power (headlights, dash lights, AC/heat fan) intermittently flashed off then back on while driving...when this happened as I arrived home, I completely lost power steering (electronic power steering warning light came on) and could barely turn the steering wheel. Thankfully I was moving at relatively slow speed when I lost power steering, but this could certainly be a life hazard at higher speeds.
