My dashboard, specifically the area with my odometer and gas mileage reader, has been flickering and scrambling numbers. This seems to be an issue with many 3rd generation Honda Fit models (2015-2020). This issue makes traveling unsafe as I am unable to see what my odometer is reading and likewise cannot predict when I will need to add gas. The only solution that was offered by my Honda dealership was to replace the entire dash electrical component for $4000 which is not acceptable for an issue that is well know to Honda.

My vehicle would not start at the end of the workday XXX. I replaced the battery assuming that was the problem. Unfortunately, it was not. I called a tow track to pick up my vehicle. My 2019 Honda Fit was dropped off on XXX at the Ourisman Honda of [XXX]. I was explained that what was causing the issue of my vehicle not starting was an electrical problem related to the gauge module. Please note that before the car repair I have been experiencing a gauge cluster and dashboard blinking out or glitching in cold weather. Odometer would black out completely. That prevented me from seeing my speed or fuel levels. I had to pay $2,165.50 out of pocket to fix a known manufacturing defect so I can pass Virginia Safety Inspection. The payment receipt attached shows a payment of $2,200 ($2,165.50 to fix the gauge control module not displaying the odometer + $34.50 for an air filter). The failure of the instrumental panel prevented me from tracking safety warnings or vehicle speed, requiring a full replacement of the Meter Assembly Combination (Part #78100 - T-5R - A23). The instrument panel on my Honda fit, which shows the mileage, gas levels, oil levels and statuses, flickers and goes completely blank when it gets cold outside. This has been determined to be the result of faulty soldering on the circuit board of Honda Fits manufactured between 2015 - 2020. I went to the Honda Dealership to fix it and their response was that it's a known issue, but Honda won't allow them to fix it. But it's faulty manufacturing on the part of Honda! Not being able to see the honda fit dashboard is safety hazard when driving especially if you can see the electronic gauges on your car.

The digital gauge on the Genuine Honda Fit Instrument Cluster (factory-installed) flickers or goes blank intermittently. It is a well-documented and known defect in this model. The gauge is currently being replaced and I have asked for the defective part for evidence. The gauge includes the odometer, trip computer, digital fuel gauge, and engine oil information. It is a safety issue because you can run out of fuel, cannot track trip mileage (important when navigating in more remote areas), and can't see overall mileage (don't know when to service vehicle, etc.). The dealership has reproduced and identified the problem. No warning messages appeared before failure. The problem first appeared about 3 months ago, but seemed to be an isolated incident. Then one week ago, the problem became persistent.
