- #11768055September 30, 2026EQUIPMENT:ACCESSORY:FLOOR MAT
The contact owns a 2024 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the carpet was lifting where the floor mat connected to the retention hooks near the driver's side door panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the carpet needed to be replaced; however, the repair was not covered under warranty. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the carpet was replaced twice; however, the failure recurred with the carpet sliding down from underneath the dashboard, shifting away from the door seal and retention hooks. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the failure was confirmed, and the carpet was repositioned, but the driver's side seat sliding mechanism became stuck. The dealer determined that the driver's seat motor had failed and it was replaced. The carpet failure persisted and continued sliding down near the pedals. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Norm Reeves Honda Superstore West Covina (1840 E Garvey Ave S, West Covina, CA 91791), where an inspection revealed that the driver's side kick panel was loose and not properly secured, and the first dealer had attempted to repair the carpet by using a staple to attach it to the firewall, possibly causing the carpet to rip apart. The contact was referred to the first dealer, who stated that the district manager had not approved the repair because the vehicle was out of warranty. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone, and four separate reports were filed. The failure mileage was approximately 10,060.

- #11767647September 29, 2026VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
I was driving my 2021 Honda CR-V hybrid touring at approximately 55 mph on [XXX] near the [XXX] exit. The vehicle had been operating normally. Approximately 115 miles before the incident. I had filled the vehicle with gasoline at BJ's in [XXX]. At approximately 11:50 am on XXX, the malfunction indicator lamp (check-engine light) began flashing while I was driving at highway speed. At the same time, the vehicle began smoothly losing power and slowing down. There was no shaking or rough running. I immediately pulled over, activated my hazard lights and turned the vehicle off for approximately 8 minutes. After restarting the vehicle, the malfunction indicator lamp was no longer flashing and the vehicle drove normally. I did not notice any other warning lights or dashboard messages during the incident. I am reporting this safety issue because the incident appears similar to the intermittent loss-of-motive power condition described in NHTSA Preliminary Evaluation PE25016 involving Honda CR-V Hybrid vehicles. I understand that PE25016 is an investigation and that I am not asserting that my vehicle has the condition being investigated. There was no crash, fire, injury or fatality associated with this incident.I would like this incident documented as a safety complaint because the vehicle temporarily lost motive power while traveling at highway speed. The fact that the warning light disappeared and vehicle returned to normal operation after being turned off and restarted makes the problem particularily important to document and diagnose. The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under Technical Service Bulletin: 26-091 (Product Update: 2018–20 Accord/2017–19 CR-V CMBS Software Update); however, the failure occurred after the TSB repair. The contact stated that while driving 55–60 MPH, the ABS and several unknown warning lights illuminated. The brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle took longer than normal to stop. The steering wheel was shaking while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that there was a cylinder misfire and that the fuel injector needed to be replaced. The contact associated the failure with Technical Service Bulletin: 21-010 (Warranty Extension: MIL Comes On with DTC P0420, P0430, P030x, and P219A/B (Without Software Update); however, the vehicle was not covered under the TSB. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 77,098.

On Aug 10, 2026 every dashboard warning light came on and stayed on Took to the shop and they did some repair work. Then on August 18 while driving, I have been getting stuttering and jerking motion like pauses. Then, a whirling noise would start and every single dashboard warning light would come on. I’ve had my turbocharger assembly replaced twice. This is an ongoing problem I see with this specific SUV and needs to be recalled. As a woman driving this is a horrible feeling. My car is now back in the shop again for the 4th time. My car is very well maintained since I have it and I love it.

The steering has been “sticking” for the last six-nine months. I finally took it into Firestone for a check up and they indicated the rack and pinion steering had gone bad and would need to be replaced, but because it was an electronic component could only be replaced by Honda. I have read numerous online reports about 2018 Honda CRV owners that have had problems with the rack and pinion steering and although there has been a recall for 2018 CRV‘s for steering issues, my VIN/vehicle does not appear to be included. My car has 46000 miles.

While sitting with engine running all warning messages start to scroll through including warning dash lights. This occurs periodically may stop randomly a day or two later. No codes display when checked. Noticed multiple incidents of this have been reported with no specific solution. Individuals seem to have spent thousands trying to fix without a specific solution. Less than 95k miles always serviced at dealers. Extremely frustrating concerned that at some point this could result in a failure posing a personal/physical safety issue.

To Whom It May Concern, While driving and when at red light or just putting it in park my 2019 Honda CR-V AWD EX, multiple warning lights suddenly illuminated on the dashboard, including the Check Engine Light, VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist), TPMS, and Collision Mitigation System. This has occurred multiple times and appears to be a well-documented issue among other Honda CR-V owners. To shop and they said it was the speed sensor got repaired and light so came back on. Took to the dealer and they diagnosed a faulty fuel injector system (Code P0172 – System Too Rich) and recommended a full injector replacement. This issue matches known cases addressed under Honda TSB 19-072, but is not currently covered under a full recall. The sudden illumination of all warning lights, combined with reduced power, is a serious safety concern as it may cause loss of control or delayed response in critical traffic situations. We have been quoted between $1,200 and $2,500 to repair this issue, which is a significant expense for a defect Honda is already aware of. I believe this is a manufacturing defect that should be fully covered by Honda, along with any related systems affected by this issue. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this widespread defect affecting 2017–2019 CR-V models and issue a recall. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Best regards,

This has happened 4 time so far. The vehicle was running fine, and then suddenly the check engine light starts to flash and engine has no power and loses speed, pressing the accelerator does nothing although you can see the power bar on the dashboard light up, but no power. The issue is resolved once you restart the vehicle.

My 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid (VIN: [XXX]) has an open Product Update campaign for the PGM-FI Software Update (coolant pump/overheating risk). An authorized Honda dealership (Herb Chambers) refused to perform this software update, instructing me to return to the selling dealer. The vehicle has experienced repeated engine overheating warnings and significant coolant loss. This refusal to perform a safety campaign leaves the vehicle at risk of engine damage and potential safety hazard. The contact owns a 2022 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving and steering the vehicle, the steering wheel was sticking. Additionally, the vehicle made an abnormal grinding sound while turning the steering wheel. The contact stated that the failure increased while driving 60-80 MPH on the highway and caused a safety risk. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the steering rack and pinion had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, and an alignment was performed. The contact associated the failure with an unknown recall. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

Driving on road with a number of left curves on September 24, 2026. While making the turns, with no driver input, the steering wheel jerked 2-3 times a few inches to the right . Noticed the steering wheel jerking to the right before, but not as severe. I currently own a 2020 Honda CRV and have had other CRVs and never had a steering problem such as this. There is obviously a defect in the manufacture of the steering system on this 2025 Honda CRV. We are currently afraid to take this CRV long distances as it is unreliable and most likely dangerous. We’ve made an appointment at a Honda dealership to have the problem identified (and hopefully addressed). If not, thinking about getting rid of it.

- #11766951September 25, 2026FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM, ENGINE
Component: Fuel/Propulsion System / Engine Description of Defect: I am reporting a premature, recurring safety defect on my Honda CR-V (currently at 101,000 miles). The original factory fuel injectors failed and were replaced under warranty at 36,000 miles. The replacement genuine OEM Honda injectors have failed a second time. The dealership diagnosed the issue and confirmed the fuel injectors are mechanically STUCK OPEN, meaning they are continuously dumping unmetered, raw gasoline directly into the engine cylinders. This creates a severe fire hazard as raw fuel floods the hot exhaust system and catalytic converter, while also threatening to wash down the cylinder walls and dilute the engine oil, risking catastrophic engine seizure while driving. The dealership is demanding $2,000 out-of-pocket to repair this recurring defect. Honda is fully aware that their direct-injection replacement parts suffer from this stuck-open mechanical vulnerability but refuses to issue a safety recall, forcing consumers to absorb the cost of a known manufacturing flaw.
