My vehicle’s fuel delivery system failed after a recall repair. The in-tank fuel pump was replaced under recall by the dealer, even though I had no drivability complaints, no warning lights, and a full inspection that day confirmed no issues with my vehicle. Immediately after the recall pump replacement, the vehicle developed drivability problems including sputtering, hesitation, and failure to start. On one occasion, the underside of the car overheated and exhaust fumes, including carbon monoxide, entered the cabin. The interior filled with heat and fumes, I became lightheaded, dizzy, and shaky, and nearly lost consciousness while driving. My dog, who was with me, vomited and panted heavily from the exposure. I had to pull over and exit the vehicle immediately. This incident occurred only after the recall pump was replaced and points to faulty installation or malfunction of the recall component, which disrupted the fuel system and caused improper combustion and exhaust handling. On another occasion, the vehicle stalled in the middle of an intersection, leaving me at serious risk of being hit by cross traffic. The car now shows a high-pressure fuel pump fault. Although the in-tank pump and the high-pressure pump are in different locations, they are part of the same system: the in-tank pump supplies steady fuel volume and pressure directly to the high-pressure pump. If the in-tank pump is defective, mis-installed, or inconsistent, it causes the high-pressure pump to fail. This made my vehicle unsafe to operate, placing me, my passengers, and other drivers at risk. The problem has been confirmed by the dealership, which documented a high-pressure fuel pump fault, and reviewed by Honda Corporate. Components and service records are available for inspection. There were no warning lamps, messages, or drivability issues prior to the recall service, all symptoms appeared immediately afterward.

ABS warning light went on after having front L&R axle replaced because it broke or drive shaft broke . Had rear brakes done at same time calipers rotors and pads. Also emergency brake fixed. Less than a week later ABs light went on a long with Ebrake and power steering lights and traction light . Would initially go on and off now mostly on.. Machanic said it reads Abs module. Seems coincidental that it went on a week after drive shaft broke. However after research this very expensive ABS module seem to be a frequently occurring problem with Honda accords. And unavailable parts to fix. I had a 2001 that ABS went on also. Honda should fix this problem issue a recall maybe and pay to fix .A huge expense for customers. Not sure I will buy another Honda

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that two weeks after the vehicle was repaired under an undisclosed NHTSA Campaign, the message "See Dealer" was displayed. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the same local dealer, and the fuel injectors were replaced. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine temperature gauge became elevated. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local O' riley, where it was diagnosed with turbo assembly sensor failure. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a turbo assembly sensor failure. The vehicle was repaired; however, there was a misfire coming from the engine. The spark plugs, coils, and battery were replaced; however, approximately 6 days later, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the same independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a rocker arm oil control solenoid failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that, due to the age and mileage of the vehicle, a Goodwill service would not be performed. The failure mileage was approximately 116,699.

My 2018 Honda Accord EX is currently having FUEL injector problems at 41,000 miles. Honda is trying to tell me that FUEL injectors do NOT get affected by the recalled FUEL pump. This is very silly because the FUEL pump and FUEL injectors work together. They want $1,800 to replace the FUEL injectors at Honda. I already completed the recall on the FUEL pump, and afterward, they told me my injector was running too rich and needed to be replaced for $1800. There are so many Honda 1.5Ts experiencing these same issues, and Honda does not want to do anything about it. I am currently taking my car to a local shop to get the FUEL injectors replaced for $1,327. I believe I should be reimbursed since the FUEL pump is what caused my FUEL injectors to fail. Honda is trying to tell me that two FUEL components of a car don’t correlate with each other? This isn’t fair, and I need to be reimbursed.

The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while attempting to complete a left turn, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was able to coast into a nearby parking lot, where the failure persisted. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed with failures with the driveshaft and steering gearbox. The driveshaft was repaired at that time. The contact stated that while leaving the independent mechanic at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle suddenly veered to the left, prompting the contact to immediately return the vehicle to the independent mechanic. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for assistance. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the steering gearbox. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 160,000.

On Tuesday, September 23, I was applying the brakes as I was approaching a stop sign. When I had slowed to about fifteen miles an hour the car suddenly accelerated and the brakes were not enough to stop it so I shifted into neutral and stopped. The engine continued to race in neutral. I shifted into drive and things returned to normal. I then started to move forward and the car suddenly again accelerated rapidly. I shifted into neutral and then into drive and things returned to normal. I then drove home without a further problem.

I own a 2018 Honda Accord Sport. About 2–3 months ago, the car began having repeated engine misfires (P0301), hesitation, and stalling while driving. At the same time, multiple dashboard warnings appear, including Steering Assist Reduced, Brake System Problem, Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control System Problem, Emission System Problem, and Hill Start Assist Problem, these failures occur suddenly while the vehicle is in motion, creating a serious risk of loss of engine power, reduced braking performance, loss of steering assist, and disabled crash-avoidance systems. I have already performed extensive maintenance: new ignition coils, a full tune-up, compression test, spark test, and battery/alternator check, yet the issues remain. Diagnostic scans also showed U0416-68 (invalid data from ABS/VSA module) in addition to the misfire. This suggests not only a fuel/propulsion defect but also a possible computer/control module failure that links engine, brakes, steering, and ADAS systems. These conditions match known recalls for the Accord, including 23V858000 (fuel pump failure), 20V314000 (low-pressure fuel pump), and 20V771000 (BCM software issue), yet my VIN does not currently show as included. The fact that multiple critical safety systems fail simultaneously makes this a major safety hazard that could easily lead to an accident if the car stalls, loses braking, or loses steering assist in traffic. I opened a case with Honda Customer Service (Case #15868389), but they refused to cover the repair since my VIN is not listed, despite the failures being identical to those described in the recalls. I strongly believe my vehicle should be included, and I request that NHTSA investigate whether the recall VIN range needs to be expanded.

Recently bought this car a month ago. I started having problems with acceleration, as if the car was “bucking” every time i would press the gas normally at a red light or stop sign, accelerating from a stop. The vehicle wouldn’t make it up a hill while accelerating it was very hard bucking. I tried pressing the gas a little harder and the check engine light flashed and the car went into limp mode so i had to pull over. Made it back home and i was driving normally and every light you can imagine came up on the dash. I’ve heard from many others with the accord they’ve had the same problems but once they get it fixed the problems keep happening or the vehicle blows up. I just paid full in cash for this car and my total is fix it is already at 5k to fix.

The 3rd cylinder connecting rod failed under 120k miles. The rod knocked the starter loose while the vehicle was going 70 MPH, and caused a fire. It was inspected by the dealership it was purchased from. There were no symptoms or warnings at all, it was sudden and unexpected. Myself and my passenger were both shaken and thankfully had time to pull over when it happened, and we managed to put the fire out.

VSA Modulator failed at 106 thousand miles, replaced at dealer and it failed again after 15 thousand miles. Honda did not take any responsibility as the milage had exceeded the 12k miles warranty. They charged an additional $4,000 to repair.

I am writing to formally report a safety concern regarding the infotainment system in my 2021 Honda Accord. The infotainment system in my vehicle is faulty and exhibits consistent glitches that I believe pose a serious safety risk while operating the vehicle. The system frequently malfunctions by freezing, restarting unexpectedly, lagging during operation, or becoming entirely unresponsive. These issues affect critical functions such as navigation, backup camera display, audio controls, and in some cases, the touchscreen completely locks up, forcing me to divert my attention from the road. The system has even placed my iPhone into reset mode. This is not an isolated incident. The problem occurs on a regular basis and seems to worsen over time. I have attempted to address this issue with the dealership, but no permanent fix has been offered, and the system continues to behave erratically. This is highly distracting and potentially dangerous, especially when quick access to vehicle features is needed during driving. I believe this issue warrants investigation, as it undermines driver focus and could lead to an accident. I urge the NHTSA to look into this matter and consider whether a recall or manufacturer fix is necessary to ensure driver and passenger safety. Toyota is recalling 591,377 automobiles because the instrument panel display can fail and not show the driver critical information including vehicle speed, brake system and tire pressure warning lights, which could lead to a crash and injury. This issue has been going on for years with Honda vehicles but it's never been recalled. Vehicle details: Make/Model: 2021 Honda Accord VIN: [XXX] Mileage: 77,628 Date of Purchase: November 2021 Problem Frequency: Ongoing and frequent (daily ) I am happy to provide any additional documentation or video evidence if needed. Dear NHTSA, I am writing to report a recurring and potentially dangerous issue with my 2017 Honda Accord EX-L. The vehicle emits sudden, extremely loud static and high-pitched noise from the speakers—often occurring in hot weather and even when the audio system is turned off. This unpredictable noise is not only startling but also prevents me from hearing surrounding traffic, horns, or emergency vehicles, significantly increasing the risk of an accident. It poses a serious distraction and safety hazard. I have found numerous similar complaints from other Honda owners online, indicating this may be a widespread issue. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this as a potential safety-related defect that may warrant a recall. I listed the date below around when this started occurring. It happens multiple times per week. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

interference; and importantly, that the problem occurs only when the outside temperature is excessively hot. Due to the specific conditions required to trigger the interference, the static noise is impossible to replicate on command, rendering troubleshooting efforts prohibitively costly and unlikely to bear fruit. For reference, there are videos of the problem online with search terms "Honda Accord static noise".

The contact owns a 2003 Honda Accord. The contact stated that there were several mechanical failures with the vehicle. The contact stated that there was a failure with the ignition switch, and the key could not be removed from the cylinder, and the shift lever failed to shift into drive(D), park(P), or into reverse(R). The contact stated that while the vehicle was in drive(D), the drive(D) indicator was flashing. Additionally, the contact had been having a failure of the power steering assist. The contact stated that the steering wheel was difficult to turn to the left or to the right. The contact was unaware of any warning lights during the power steering failure. The contact stated that the power steering failure was recurring. There was also a failure with the transmission. The contact stated that after being able to shift to drive(D), and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated before responding. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle was shaking abnormally and hesitating. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The contact researched online and found several recalls related to the failures. The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and the contact was advised that two previous recall repairs were completed for the air bags and the ignition, but the VIN was no longer under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 230,000.

- #11689019September 22, 2025VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
When traveling on an Interstate Highway in the left lane of a 2-lane highway with the Adaptive Cruise Control turned on. Passing a tractor trailer going slower in the right lane, the car will apply the brakes unexpectedly. The dash will briefly show a "ghost" truck crossing into the left lane. The unexpected braking causes any vehicle behind the Accord to brake. Putting those vehicles and any behind them at risk. Smart Honda of Des Moines looked at the car on Sept. 22, 2025 reported no error codes and nothing could be done. If the Accord hugs the far left shoulder, no "ghost" breaking occurs. If the Adaptive Cruise Control is turn off and regular Cruise Control is turned on, no "ghost" braking occurs.
