Car was jerking when acceleration. Dealer inspected the vehicle and said the head gasket is blown. It overheated a day after Honda dealership fixed my water pump.

On December 9, 2023, while driving my brand new 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring HPD package on the highway during snowy conditions at less than 50 mph less than 8000 miles on the odometer after my first oil change the automatic emergency braking (AEB) system suddenly and unexpectedly engaged with no obstacle, vehicle, or pedestrian ahead, causing the vehicle to skid uncontrollably and slam into a concrete highway barrier. The car was towed from the scene, and I was hospitalized for injuries sustained in the high-speed impact. The AEB component or system malfunctioned by activating without cause; it was inspected by police at the scene and I contacted Honda’s safety team to conduct an investigation. This unintended braking put my safety at extreme risk by inducing sudden deceleration and loss of control on a slippery highway, which could have endangered following traffic as well. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a Honda dealer or independent service center since the vehicle was not repaired. Police inspected it at the crash scene and issued me a ticket for “driving too fast for conditions” despite my explanation of the sudden braking; no manufacturer inspection of the AEB occurred, though I contacted Honda’s safety team and they attributed it to not following the owner’s guidebook without further review. Prior to driving, all dashboard warning lights illuminated unexpectedly; I turned the vehicle completely off, restarted it, and the lights disappeared with no further symptoms until the AEB engaged abruptly on the highway. This matches ongoing NHTSA investigations into Honda Accord and CR-V vehicles for braking problems, including false AEB activations.

When I rotate my steering I hear a weird sound from the steering. It feels like steering rack issue. It happens during drive as well as when parked. I think this can cause a massive safety problem if steering rack fails while driving. There are no warnings in the car. The problem appeared in mid 2025 and have continued since.

Head gasket failed at 58k miles without overheating per assessment at honda dealership. Safety was affected by going into limp mode instantly turning left onto 55 mph 4 lane road, no warning lights prior going into limp mode. Brief misfire occurred prior to incident, (did not know at time because it did not seem significant and no warning light). Dealer reports multiple 2018 honda accord 1.5L head gasket and fuel injector failures. Unknown if manufacture would inspect. In addition fuel injector has completely failed and requires replacement per honda dealership assessment, this occurred after dealership repaired head gasket. Waiting for final repair invoice, can and will provide upon request

Our car, only 3 years old (2022) had a check engine light come on about a week ago. We went and had the code read, said cylinder 3 was misfiring. We replaced all the spark plugs and coils. All the lights went off and the car drove fine for another week. Then all of a sudden after driving 60+ miles, we were accelerating up a hill in very heavy traffic, and the car wouldn't accelerate. It wouldn't go more than 20-25 in a 45 as we were pulling out and we were almost hit because we couldn't go. The engine got a tad above the middle of the oil heat gauge. We had it towed. The dealership stated that it had a head gasket issue, with other issues, and that the engine block might be cracked. Currently are trying to charge us almost 7k to fix it.

- #11724599March 16, 2026ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the messages "Engine Temperature Too Hot - Do Not Drive - Allow Engine to Cool" and "Engine Temperature Near Limit - Avoid Heavy Acceleration and High Speeds" were displayed. The contact pulled over and had the vehicle towed to the dealer, who determined that there was no coolant leak but that the head gasket was blown and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 146,000.

Experiencing an ongoing issue where multiple warning lights appear on the dashboard at the same time. The lights include several safety and system warnings, making it look like many different systems in the vehicle are malfunctioning simultaneously. Even after repairs were made, the dashboard warning lights continue to stay on or return shortly after. It has become frustrating because the vehicle continues to show problems even when something has already been fixed. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. How can we know if something is actually malfunctioning if codes are being thrown, constantly?? We also can’t use the safety features included with the vehicle when this is happening. Having so many warning lights on at once also creates concern about the reliability and safety of the vehicle, especially since several of the warnings relate to important systems such as braking, driver assistance features, and engine performance. Repairs aren’t helping and I’m seeing sooooo many other 2018 accord owners with the same issue, as has been documented with this site, NHTSA

I took my accord into Snellville GA Honda dealer for fuel pump recall and the day I received it from the service department, it started to sputtter and engine shutdown. I took back 3 times and got a different answer each time. I believe the turbo charger may have been affected from the fuel pump being bad. The latest diagnostic says it has turbo under boost issue.

I am submitting a claim regarding a major repair needed on my 2018 Honda Accord. The vehicle was recently diagnosed at an authorized Honda dealership, where technicians determined that the engine requires a head gasket repair. I was quoted approximately $7,000 for the repair. Based on the research I have done, premature head gasket failure appears to be a known and recurring issue reported by other owners of this model, often occurring around 100,000 miles or even sooner. This type of failure at this mileage is unexpected for a properly maintained vehicle and raises concern about a potential defect or design issue. Additionally, the vehicle showed no clear warning signs prior to the diagnosis. There were no dashboard warnings or indicators that would have alerted me to an imminent failure, which made it impossible to address the problem before significant damage occurred. Given the nature of the failure, the relatively low mileage for such a major engine issue, and the high repair cost quoted by the dealership, I am requesting that this matter be reviewed and that assistance or coverage for the repair be considered.

While driving in a busy area with pedestrians and other vehicles, my car hard braked out of nowhere to a complete stop for no reason. I was nearly rear ended. The adaptive cruise control shuts off completely after 15 minutes in use. Says to take it to the nearest dealership. Turning off and restarting the car gets rid of the notification.

After recent service from local honda dealership vehicle started to drive sluggish. Had all fluids changed and the coolant flushed when serviced at the dealership. The vehicle now displays several different alerts upon start up "Emissions systems failure" Brake system failure" Hill Assist failure" Power Steering failure". Vehicle was returned to dealership and it was determined the head gaskets need to be replaced due to coolant leaking. This vehicle has been maintained consistently with documentation and shouldn't have this type of failure with only 100k miles. Repairs are $4800 and this should definitely be investigated because this is common in Honda Accord model years 2018-2022.

A transmission problem occurred shortly after a CVT transmission service was performed at an authorized Honda dealership, Classic Honda of Midland in Midland, Texas. After the service, the vehicle began experiencing abnormal noise, vibration, and harsh driving conditions. The vehicle was later inspected at another authorized Honda dealership, Ocean Honda of Burlingame, California. During the inspection, technicians documented that the CVT transmission fluid had been overfilled and excess transmission fluid had to be drained. After further evaluation, internal transmission damage was identified and the dealership advised that the transmission likely needs replacement. Ocean Honda of Burlingame provided an estimated cost of $10,101.13 for transmission replacement. Attempts were made to resolve the issue directly with Classic Honda of Midland in Texas, but the dealership refused to take responsibility or provide assistance. This condition may create a safety risk due to potential loss of power and unsafe drivability while operating the vehicle.

- #11724084March 13, 2026AIR BAGS, SEAT BELTS
On June 9, 2025, I was involved in a motor vehicle accident while driving my 2016 Honda Accord. During the crash, the seatbelt system failed in a way that caused severe force to my body rather than restraining me properly. The seatbelt detached and violently pulled my body, resulting in significant injuries. The force from the seatbelt failure ruptured my right breast implant, which required surgical replacement. I was transported by ambulance to Loyola Hospital, where CT scans and ultrasound confirmed the rupture. I have since undergone surgery and continue to experience ongoing medical issues including nerve symptoms and physical therapy. In addition, the airbags did not deploy during the collision, which raised additional concerns about the vehicle’s safety systems. Because of the unusual behavior of the restraint system during the crash, I am reporting this as a potential safety defect. After researching online, I discovered other drivers reporting seatbelt and safety-related issues with similar Honda Accord model years. Because the seatbelt system is a critical safety component designed to protect occupants during a crash, I believe this incident should be documented and reviewed for possible defects. This report is being submitted so that the issue can be investigated and documented for public safety.

Car lost power on freeway, had the car towed to local Honda. After several hours of sitting at dealership and talking to several different employees. One employee comes back to tell me the head gasket was blown and needed repaired. And that this is a common issue he has been seeing in this make/model of car.
