FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
While driving on the interstate, the car in front of my stepped on their brakes hard and immediately let off. I was several car lengths behind the car, but my emergency braking activated. The brake pedal went out of reach and I tried to step on the gas but the car would not accelerate. Two cars passed me on both sides, but luckily there was no one behind me or they would have hit me. The car went down to approximately 20 mph before I could again accelerate. The car in front of me was nearly 1/4-mile away at that point

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The contact owns a 2021 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed the interior of the vehicle was full of smoke. The vehicle was unoccupied. The contact stated no visible fire was noticed. The contact inspected and noticed that the passenger side of the dashboard and the glove box were melted. The contact stated the vehicle had just been driven and parked for about an hour prior to the failure. No warning lights were illuminated. In addition, the passenger front door well and the carpet on the front passenger side were melted. The local fire department was contacted and determined that the fire was caused by exposed wires. The fire department chief disconnected the battery as a precaution. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

AIR BAGS
This notification continues to pop up on my screen and when going to the dealer they are stating that my VIN number is not effected but I continue to get this notification. Safety is put to risk when the airbag is turned off while driving in the event of something terrible happening. We are not protected. The Dealer will not inspect this without having to pay out of pocket for a diagnostic.

STEERING
The contact owns a 2024 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle became difficult to turn with a popping sound coming from the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed with rack and pinion. The contact stated that initially after the repair, the rack and pinion part was defective, and another rack and pinion part was ordered. The contact stated that an alignment was performed four times. The vehicle was repaired; however, a year after the repair, the vehicle started shaking and the wheels were bent. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired because it was not under recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,600.

Vehicle Identification Number (VIN): [XXX] Vehicle Mileage: 29,200 miles Involved Honda Dealership: McGrath Honda, St. Charles, IL Details of Your Inquiry: I am seeking assistance regarding an ongoing issue with my 2023 Honda Accord Sport Hybrid. The first time I noticed this issue was in the summer of 2024, when I experienced a similar set of alerts while driving in a parking lot. At the time, I didn't think much of it, as the vehicle seemed to return to normal shortly afterward. However, on [XXX], the problem occurred again, but this time it was more serious. While driving in a subdivision in Bolingbrook, IL, at approximately 25-30 MPH around 8:10 PM, my vehicle malfunctioned and displayed numerous system alerts, including: Adaptive cruise control system problem, Collision mitigation braking system problem, Road departure mitigation system problem, Electric power steering system problem, Electric parking brake system problem, Tire pressure monitor system problem, Brake system problem, Brake hold system problem. Additionally, my Honda app sent a warning stating, “Brake system problem, drive with caution.” During this time, the vehicle experienced a significant loss of power, with no braking or acceleration available. I was unable to use the brake pedal or accelerate, which caused immediate safety concerns. Luckily, I was in a subdivision and not on a busier road like Weber Rd. or I-55, as this could have resulted in a dangerous accident. I was able to coast the vehicle to a stop at the side of the road, where I waited for a few minutes. I then cycled the vehicle off, waited a few more minutes, and turned it back on. The vehicle started, and I was able to drive back home. A video was recorded showing the alerts on the dashboard. I brought my vehicle to McGrath Honda for diagnostics on March 28, 2025. The dealership found multiple lost communication codes from various subsystems, but they were unable to replicate the issue. ALL OF THE CERTAIN, THE CAR SPEED UP, I CAN NOT STOP IT BY APPLY THE BRAKE, IT HAPPEN 2 TIMES. IT WAS OUT OF MY CONTROL. "UNEXPECTED VEHICLE MOVEMENT INCREASES (THE RISK OF A CRASH )OR PERSONAL INJURY TO PERSONS WITHIN THE PATH OF AROL LING VEHICLE. " I AM HITTING VICHLE IN FRONT AND CAUSE OF DAMAGE MY VECHICLE TOO THE CAR I DRIVE A SERIOUS DAMAGE RADIATOR CONDENSOR DAMAGE, FRAME WAS BENT TO 45 DEGREE HITTING RADIATOR COOLTANT LEAKING. While making a left U-turn my car suddenly restarted which caused a loss of power steering and acceleration. This issue occurred 2 more times until I was able to straighten the car out into the intended lane of traffic. During the vehicle restart, I noticed several dash lights appear in the left area of the dashboard, however could not identify the meaning.

CMBS not working properly. The car automatically brakes without any collision risk even on a clear road with no traffic and clear weather. Have a huge risk of someone crashing the car from the rear due to immediate braking. This issue has appeared several times.

Excessive oil consumption. I have 110,000 on my vehicle. Every 1000 miles I need to add 1 quart of oil. My vehicle is not leaking oil. This matter is very a common problem, well-documented issue for this Honda engine. Honda will not respond to my complaint.

Component: Infotainment system / touchscreen panel (Display Audio Unit) Description of Issue and Safety Concern: The infotainment touchscreen panel on my 2022 Honda Accord malfunctions intermittently and unpredictably. It rapidly and repeatedly switches between modes (e.g., FM, AM, Bluetooth, phone) in a spastic pattern, similar to Morse code. This behavior often renders the touchscreen non-responsive. Even when powered off manually, it will turn itself back on and continue cycling through modes uncontrollably. This poses a safety risk by: •Creating driver distraction due to constant flashing, sound changes, and alerts. •Interrupting navigation, Bluetooth phone calls, and backup camera use. •Making it difficult to adjust settings or audio without taking eyes off the road. •Forcing the driver to troubleshoot or disable the screen while driving. The issue has been confirmed and documented by an authorized Honda dealership, and the vehicle is still under warranty. However, the part needed for repair has been unavailable, on backorder, since 9/2024. Despite multiple attempts, the manufacturer has not resolved the issue. No warning lamps or diagnostic codes are present, but the defect remains ongoing and persistent. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. ________________________________________

Forward collision warning stopped working after a system upgrade on my 2019 Honda Accord hybrid. I activate the forward support and immediately it turns off. This is a safety issue. The system assist in breaking in time to maintain car distance and avoid a collision. Contacted Honda. I was told to take it to service at my cost.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
During days when the temperature is warm, meaning above 70F, or the car in in direct sunlight, the speakers will produce a very loud, uncontrollable, static sound. This happens whether the radio/audio is on or fully powered off or whether the volume is on or fully off. It's is so loud that earplugs are required until the car is able to cool off enough for it to die down.

SERVICE BRAKES
Car says “brake system problem, brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer” and then another one saying “brake hold system problem. Apply brake when stoped. See your dealer” and another one that says “Electric parking brake system problem. Parking brake not available. See your dealer.” And I know quite a few people with accords that are having this issue as well!
