2017-2018 F-Super Duty/F-650/F-750/E-Series/Transit chassis cab and stripped chassis vehicles have their front alignment set as part of final assembly. The addition of aftermarket equipment such as utility and box bodies will change the ride height and therefore the alignment angles. Front-end alignments performed before the addition of aftermarket equipment may not be accurate. It is the responsibility of the final-stage manufacturer to check and set alignment angles and set clear vision (steering wheel orientation) after the addition of the aftermarket equipment. Reference page nine of the Body Builders Layout book for more information about this and the addition of aftermarket bodies to incomplete vehicles.

Some 2018 F-150, Expedition, Navigator, Transit and Explorer vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with DTC P025A stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to an intermittent or partial disconnect of the harness to the fuel pump driver module (FPDM) connector. Confirm FPDM connector (F-150 C4336, Expedition/Navigator C433, Transit C433, Explorer C3239) is fully seated prior to performing PC/ED diagnostics or replacing any components. Engineering is investigating, monitor OASIS for updates.

As noted in FSA 17S34, loss of instrument cluster display can result from wiring corrosion and damage to the Trailer Relay Module on affected Transit vehicles. Complete the 17S34 service action as described prior to addressing any other customer reported symptoms. Vehicles that exhibit related wire harness damage must have the wire harness repaired or replaced prior to performing any additional diagnostic testing to avoid improperly condemning instrument clusters or other electronic modules.

If using the FordPass app, the app will tell the customer that the vehicle started successfully, but the customer observes that the vehicle did not start or started then shut off. Some 2016-2018 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 and connected to an iPhone recently upgraded to iOS 11.2.5 may exhibit functional concerns where USB audio playback and App Link will not operate. This may also include, under certain conditions, no Bluetooth streaming. Apple has released iOS 11.2.6 to address this concern. Advise the customer to update the device to iOS 11.2.6 and re-evaluate before performing any diagnosis or repairs for this condition. To check the iOS software level on an Apple iOS device, select Settings > General > About on the device.

Some vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0011, P0012, P0014, P0015, P0016, P0017, P0018, P0019, P0021, P0022, P0024 and/or P0025. This may be due to small debris causing the VCT solenoid to stick. Before attempting any component diagnosis or replacement of the VCT solenoid, refer to Powertrain Control and Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) pinpoint test HK11 to cycle the affected VCT solenoid 10 times to attempt to clear the debris. Various 2016-2017 vehicles with SYNC 3 may experience a touch screen that does not respond to any input. Using the Professional Technician Society (PTS) website > OASIS tab > SYNC version, verify the vehicle SYNC software version. If the vehicle is at version 2.2 please update the module to the latest software level. After the software is updated make sure you shut the vehicle off, open the door for 2 minutes, then turn the key back on before testing the touch screen. If the software is at a later version than 2.2, proceed with normal diagnostics in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 415-00. For claiming, use causal part 14G371 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the Service Labor Times Standards (SLTS) manual.

Summary
The procedure to program keys on 2015-2018 Transit vehicles depends on if the vehicle is equipped with the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS). Keys for PATS and non-PATS vehicles look the same, there is no visual difference. Vehicles with PATS have a plastic ring around the ignition lock cylinder and transponder. On the OASIS page, PATS vehicles can be identified by clicking on the Additional Information link and using the search function (Ctrl + F) to find IMMOBILIZER. Vehicles with LESS ENG IMMOBILIZER THEFT SYS do not have PATS. Refer to Work Shop Manual (WSM), Section 501-14 for programming keys on non PATS vehicles and Section 419-01B for programming keys on PATS vehicles. When performing the PATS key procedure, both PATS and Remote Keyless Entry codes are programmed simultaneously.
