SummarySome 2021 Ranger and Bronco vehicles built on 15-Jun-2021 and through 15-Aug-2021 may exhibit an illuminated anti-lock brake system (ABS) warning indicator lamp with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) C003A, C0036, C0037, and/or C0039 stored in the ABS control module. This may be due to damage or movement of the ABS tone ring on the rear axle. Remove the ABS sensor and inspect the rear ABS tone ring for damage or movement from its original position. If movement or damage has occurred, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 205-02 to complete the service procedure for axle shaft replacement. If no movement has occurred, refer to WSM, Section 206-09 for normal diagnostics.

SummarySome 2019-2021 Ranger vehicles built on or before 01-Sep-2021 may experience a lack of air conditioning (A/C) cooling performance condition and/or an A/C compressor engagement concern when using the remote start function (if equipped). This may be due to the software within the front controls interface module (FCIM). To correct the condition, reprogram the FCIM using the latest software level of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 19980 and applicable labor operations in Section 12651D4 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. After FCIM programing, check for A/C operation and correct as necessary.

SummarySome 2019-2021 Ranger vehicles may experience an uneven and/or excessive gap existing between the instrument panel (IP) topper and the center tray/upfitter switch assembly. This may be due to a lack of rigidity in the IP topper not allowing the tray/upfitter switch assembly to latch properly. The following foam block service kit (SPN: KB3Z-2104338-A) should be used to correct this condition. Follow the installation instructions included with the kit to install the foam blocks into the IP topper and repair the vehicle.

SummarySome 2019-2021 Ranger vehicles built on or before 09-Aug-2021 and 2021 Bronco vehicles may experience a loss of power when driving in freezing temperatures with an illuminated malfunction indication lamp (MIL) and/or powertrain malfunction indicator (wrench) lamp with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P2111, P2112, and/or P2119. This may be due to water or ice buildup in the intake manifold behind the throttle body. If suspected, remove the throttle body and inspect for the presence of water or ice in the base of the intake manifold. If water or ice is found, replace the intake manifold with part number KB3Z-9424-B and crankcase vent oil separator hose, part number LB5Z-6A664-D. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Sections 303-01 and 303-08. For claiming, use causal part number 9424 and applicable labor times from Section 09 of the Service Labor Times Standard (SLTS) Manual.

SummarySome 2016-2021 Ford or Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 or SYNC 4 may exhibit a blank screen or other various SYNC symptoms only when the vehicle is in transport mode. This is considered normal due to the power saving features enabled while in transport mode. It is beneficial for battery life to keep the vehicle in transport mode until the vehicle is prepped for sale. To prevent a SYNC system lockup during transport mode deactivation, follow the Workshop Manual (WSM) procedure exactly allowing time for the SYNC system to complete its tasks such as fully booting up or powering down and shutting off before moving to the next step of the procedure. If the vehicle exhibits a blank screen or SYNC symptoms after transport mode deactivation, refer to WSM, Section 415-00 for normal diagnosis. The SYNC version can be confirmed via OASIS.

SummarySome 2018-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may not be able to perform remote commands via the FordPass/LincolnWay App due to an erroneous deep sleep message. If the vehicle has been driven within 14 days and the battery state of charge is above 9.5 volts when the deep sleep message set, this is an erroneous message. Starting and running the vehicle will clear the message and allow the remote commands to function again. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that will be released via an over the air (OTA) update that is expected in June 2021. Replacement or reprogramming of the telematics control unit (TCU)/gateway module (GWM) will not resolve this condition.
