SummarySome 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost engine may exhibit an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator with DTC P2C44:00 and/or U061E:00 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to an issue with ground circuit GD132 or the auxiliary battery isolator. Perform Pinpoint Test I in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-06D and make sure the integrity of GD132 is carefully inspected and tested with the inclusion of G102, C146 and C1989C. Then perform the Auxiliary Battery Conditions(s) Test in WSM, Section 414-01, Pinpoint Test B. If no issues are found in Pinpoint Test I, GD132 and the auxiliary battery condition test passes, replace the auxiliary battery isolator per WSM, Section 414-01. For claiming, use causal part 14526 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

Summary2021-2022 various Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an erroneous diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U1A01:93 stored in the telematics control unit (TCU). This may be due to various software parameters within the TCU. If this DTC is identified during normal diagnostics, but the vehicle does not exhibit any customer concerns around the TCU operation, clear this DTC and no further repairs are recommended. If the DTC returns after being cleared or if the vehicle exhibits connectivity concerns with the TCU, continue with normal Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics. If set erroneously, this DTC does not cause any observable concerns or warning messages and does not affect vehicle performance or durability. Ford is developing a software update which will be delivered to the vehicle via an over-the-air (OTA) TCU update in July 2022 to prevent this DTC from setting erroneously.

Recommend that the customer uninstall the app to ensure this is not contributing to battery symptoms experienced. Advise the customer that unaffiliated third-party app developers do not work directly with Ford to adhere to security, vehicle communication, and privacy requirements.

Some 2021 F-150 vehicles equipped with a low-level instrument panel cluster (IPC) which has a 4.2-inch display may experience erratic operation of the Eco-Coach feature, or this feature may be missing and/or the transmission temperature gauge reading inaccurate. This may be due to software parameters in the IPC. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the IPC. NOTE: The IPC software update that addresses the symptom listed in this bulletin may have been sent via Ford Power-Up software updates delivered over-the-air (OTA) to connected vehicles that have automatic updates enabled through the SYNC 4 screen. Enter the vehicle identification number (VIN) in Professional Technician System (PTS) and check the OTA Dashboard under the Connected Vehicle tab for OTA update history. If an update to the IPC has successfully completed recently and the customer is reporting the symptoms are no longer present, this article may not apply.

Software updates delivered OTA could take several weeks before all software is delivered, and the feature is fully functional. The updates also will include some new features while accelerating the pace of future features and enhancements. Or, the option of complimentary dealer installation of the BlueCruise hands-free driver assist feature software (Dealer software installation takes 2 to 8 hours). One (1) year of complimentary BlueCruise service once the hands-free driver assist feature is activated and functioning.
