SummarySome 2021-2023 F-150/Transit, 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning vehicles may experience issues utilizing the Smart Hitch, ProPower Onboard or Onboard Scales features (if equipped) in the FordPass app. Symptoms may include inability to connect, incorrect data displayed in the app, no weight displayed, unable to power on/off the feature, unable to turn on generator mode (gas vehicles only). The connection for these features has been removed from the Android version of the FordPass app, and will soon be removed from the iOS version. The Smart Hitch and Onboard Scales will also be removed in a future FordPass release expected no later than March 1st, 2023. Full functionality of these features will remain in vehicle, but will not be controllable from FordPass. Advise the customer of the FordPass changes and do not perform any repairs for this concern.

SummarySome 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with BLIS may experience inoperative blind spot monitoring with a Blind Spot System Fault message in the instrument panel cluster. This may also be accompanied by diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B118C:11 and/or B118C:15 stored in the driver door module (DDM), and/or B118D:11 and/or B118D:15 stored in the passenger door module (PDM). This may be due to the connector going from the mirror to the BLIS module (C576 for driver side, C676 for passenger side) having a pin out condition. To correct this condition, inspect the connector on the side experiencing the issue for a pin out condition and repair the circuit as necessary. Refer to Wiring Diagram, Cell 005, Connector Repair Procedures. If there is no issue with the connector or circuit, continue with normal diagnostics.

SummarySome 2015-2023 F-150, 2017-2022 F-Super Duty, and 2019-2023 Ranger vehicles may exhibit dust ingress into the cabin through the doors or air extractors. This may be due to the climate control system being in recirculation mode as a result of the recirculation button being on or automatic strategies for heating/cooling efficiency. To minimize dust ingress when driving in off-road or secondary road conditions, make sure that all doors and windows are fully closed and the climate control system is switched to defrost on and the instrument panel and footwell air vents are switched to off. Temperature and fan settings may be adjusted as desired. Alternatively, max defrost can be activated which will adjust all settings automatically. Operating in defrost mode will keep constant air flow through the rear air extractors and other small areas, helping minimize dust ingress.

SummarySome 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles may experience a lack of steering assist upon start-up along with a Steering Assist Fault message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) U3001:89 and U3000:96 in the power steering control module (PSCM). This may be due to low voltage at the PSCM. Power steering assist will be restored when sufficient voltage is supplied. To clear the DTCs using the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS), select and run the PSCM - Reset the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) application. Once cleared, cycle the ignition to verify normal system operation. If the DTCs return, refer to Workshop Manual Section 211-02 for normal diagnostics. For claiming, use causal part 3504.

SummarySome 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning vehicles may exhibit a ting, pop or clicking noise from the front or rear wheel hub when accelerating or applying brakes or when shifting between drive/reverse (torque reversals). This condition may be caused by stick/slip between the hub and half shaft interface, during the torque reversals creating the ting/pop or clicking noise. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to install the new anti-ting washer between the wheel hub and axle shaft and reassemble.
