Oil pan was replaced with Dorman 264-793 Engine oil pan which claims to be :Product details Top highlights Upgraded repair - this lower engine oil pan is made of high-pressure diecast aluminum and is more resistant to cracks and leaks caused by heat, warping and impact than the original equipment plastic pan Protects engine - included convenient magnetic drain plug helps prevent harmful metal debris from damaging the engine, with an angled mount boss that enables a complete drain Direct replacement - designed to match the performance of the original equipment lower pan on specified Ford and Lincoln vehicles Trustworthy quality - backed by a team of product experts in the United States and more than a century of automotive experience Ensure fit - Input your vehicle into the garage tool and check Confirmed Fit bar at the top of the page. If there is an “i” in a blue circle, additional verification is needed. Please hover over the "i" to verify fitment notes match your vehicle. After changing the pan I experienced that during acceleration such as on ramp, merging, or passing engine would suddenly lose all power, Fords warning chime would alert me and message on dashboard- Low Engine Oil Pressure - it takes the system a while to regain power again. This could have serious consequences if you were passing or trying to merge and the engine totally shuts down. Afterwards, I reviewed the Dorman design and discovered that they didn't add a baffling to the oil sump pickup and only provided a. slot in the pickup tube. The original pan has a baffle which keeps the oil flowing into the engine. This is a serious flaw which could cause injury not to mention destruction of the engine due to oil starvation. I have contacted Dorman and they are requesting purchase information for a refund. More needs to be done before someone gets hurt.

My 2015 Ford Edge has an inoperative power liftgate. The problem started about a week ago. I would press the lift button and it would work inconsistently. Finally, yesterday, after buying groceries, I attempted to open the liftgate. It stopped leaving a crack. I attempted to pry it open with my fingers and all of a sudden, it started closing on me trapping two of my fingers. I was able to pry them out. It was was very painful and scary. I entered my car and the liftgate ajar light was on. I could do nothing about this. The next morning I learned that my battery was dead. I am now unable to use my car at all. Waiting for Ford to contact me to tow my car to the dealership for the repair.

Vehicle: 2015 Ford Edge with 2.0 Liter EcoBoost engine. Ref: DP26008 While driving, the "Engine Coolant Over Temperature" warning came on and the temperature level spiked and the check engine lights came on. Engine began to run really rough. At the time, I was travelling on the highway with my children in the car and had to pull off on the side of the road. After being stranded for 4 hours while waiting for a tow, I towed it to a Ford Dealership. Dealer confirmed there is coolant intrusion into the engine and referenced TSB 22-2229. Per dealer, vehicle needs a new engine.

I got engine coolant leaking into cylinder #2 with error p0302. Car running rough and will not accelerate. I have been told by Ford this is a known design flaw they fixed in later models but don't take responsibility. It was a safety issue for me when the car wasn't accelerating on the freeway when needed.

My 2015 Ford Edge Titanium (VIN provided) suffered a catastrophic engine failure at 85,475 miles requiring a Ford long block replacement. After driving only 53,000 miles on the new corporate engine component, the vehicle began shaking violently and suffered a sudden, dangerous loss of power while driving, rendering it completely inoperable (it is sitting in my driveway unable to be driven). The vehicle threw critical fault codes P050B (Cold Start Ignition Timing) and P061B (Internal Control Module Torque Calculation Performance). Diagnostics indicate a terminal internal failure of the timing chain or torque converter. This vehicle has a severe, documented history of manufacturing and safety defects, including catalyst monitor sensor failure 08/23/16, fan relay failure 11/20/18, purge valve failure 02/27/21, a total loss of brakes while driving on 02/15/22 due to a rear caliper failure, a faulty throttle body on 03/06/22, and an incorrectly installed engine wiring harness by the dealership when engine was replaced. This list is not all inclusive. I have a 1.5" binder of repairs and services dating back to purchase date which are too numerous to attach. This failure directly mirrors the engine defect patterns currently being evaluated under NHTSA Defect Petition DP26008 / ODI 11754989.

Purchased car used from CarMax late 2024. Soon after 90 day Carmax warranty expired, the check engine light can on. Errors indicated engine missing on cyl #2 and that the O2 sensor was underperforming. Also, white smoke (steam) coming out of exhaust pipe. And, coolant fluid was all of a sudden low. I determined that there was a head gasket leak. As a repair was out of the question at the estimated cost of $6000, I elected to attempt to use a chemical stop leak. The #2 Oxygen sensor was replaced in order to acquire new CA tags. To date no repair has been performed. Car will over heat on highway if very hot weather and long grade is driven.

The transmission in my 2015 Ford Edge completely broke at about 73000 miles. I heard a LOUD "clunk" sound at a red light, and the vehicle does not accelerate at all. The check engine light also came on. I had it inspected by a certified mechanic, and the entire transmission needs replacement. Apparently the particular transmission in this vehicle has an extremely high failure rate, and Ford needs to take responsibility for this incredibly expensive failure.
