WIN module failure. When driving down the road/highway, the vehicle will turn off with no warning of any problems. The key can be removed while the vehicle is still running. The vehicle will start up with the key cranked diagonally but when released the vehicle dies making it more difficult to start the vehicle after it dies while driving down the road/highway. When a bump is hit in the road the key moves and the vehicle dies. We have spoken to the local Dodge dealership who confirmed that it is a WIN module issue while servicing the vehicle due to other recalls as well as several locksmiths.

- #11572583February 18, 2024ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) system installed in 2009-2012 Ram vehicles is prone to premature failure, resulting in the sudden cessation of the fuel pump while the vehicle is in operation. This critical malfunction poses significant safety hazards, including the potential for collisions with other vehicles, pedestrians, or stationary objects. Despite the persistence of this issue over several years, no official recall has been initiated to address it. Furthermore, in an attempt to mitigate the TIPM's failure and maintain continuous fuel pump operation, some individuals have resorted to unauthorized modifications, commonly referred to as "Jerry rigging," by bypassing the system with improvised wiring to maintain a constant "hot status." However, this makeshift solution introduces additional risks, including the heightened potential for serious fires due to the bypassed safety mechanisms. Given the severity of these safety concerns and the absence of a comprehensive recall, there is a pressing need for the manufacturer to take decisive action to rectify the TIPM system's deficiencies and ensure the safety of affected vehicles and their occupants.

- #11571135February 10, 2024VISIBILITY/WIPER
This is a safety concern I have faced on multiple occasions with this pickup. I have owned it since new and kept up on maintenance and recalls. Today it happened again. What it is, the windshield wipers will erratically wipe, sometimes not wipe, not shut off, as well as come on at random. I reside in the wet side of the state of Oregon where it can be super dangerous to loose wipers in a torrential downpour of rain or snow. This pickup get use predominately for pulling trailers, which yet again adds another layer of danger when I lose much visibility of the road ahead of me. The first time this got really bad I took it to the dealer out of warranty and they diagnosed for three hours to tell me it was 90% probable that it was the Total Ingratiated Power Control Module. I said yes I will pay the total combined $1,400 to hopefully fix the problem. At times after this it has had occasional issues. Today, [XXX], it was acting about like it did the years ago that the dealer extracted, what I felt to be good money, to fix windshield wipers. I suspect in the round of diagnosis they may have messed with the wiper motor and made things marginally better for the years that I have since got out of it. On the dealer fix I researched the problem and it seemed to be kinda common in 2006 Dodge Rams at the time. Today I was doing more research to go about fixing this problem myself since the dealer fix has always been unsatisfactory to me. In this research I found two recalls for 2008-2009 Dodge Rams (NHTSA campaign #s 09V08400 & 09E009000) with what sound to be the same problem. Did a little more digging and between the part numbers, the parts appear to be the same between the model year 2006 & 2008 Dodge Ram, 2500 SLT diesel engine (this probably true to other trim and drive train too). Should this recall be extended to other vehicles that also share the same part, if it is truly the same part off the factory floor? I know I fight similar trouble. - #11570261February 6, 2024FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Truck has a faulty fuel pump relay which causes the pump to run constantly or not at all. This can cause the vehicle not to start, or to not perform correctly while driving and potentially cause accidents. This is a known issue among mechanics and there are a couple of bypass methods to fix - the relay is not serviceable being located in the TIPM. No warnings are associated with this issue.

- #11565198January 12, 2024SERVICE BRAKES
The ESP/BAS warning lights came on. I had the truck diagnosed and the Automatic Braking System has failed. Chrysler/Fiat has discontinued the parts necessary to repair the vehicle and they don't appear to be available in the US anymore. If it cannot be repaired, this poses a dire crash/accident risk to me and my family. I can't imagine a manufacturer not providing parts for such a significant safety risk. Thanks for your time.

My truck stalled on I26 in Johnson City; I was able to get to the shoulder and was able to get it started again, and it seemed to work ok. After that I started having issues with it not starting, but if I turned the key off, and tried again it would start. I searched the internet and found that the TIPM module in this model truck is the culprit for this issue and that there is a "work around that is sold on EBAY and other sites where the fuel pump relay is bypassed by using a wire and providing power to the fuel pump from the battery voltage of the ACC side of the switch. Last week I turned the truck off, and all electrical functions stopped working it was as if my battery was gone. After another internet search, this issue leads back to the TIPM module and to my surprise I found a recall 14V115 on the 2011 2012Dodge Durango and Jeep for the exact same issues that I am experiencing with my truck. As I continued to search, I found MANY repair facilities that can "fix" this problem in their shops. I believe based on what I have been told that this TIPM is the same for the RAM truck series also. Can you please let me know why DODGE RAM has not added this model to their recall; I talked to their customer recall support and the answer I got was I'm sorry sir, but your model truck isn't covered under that recall # it is the Durango and Jeep models only; and that was it. Thanks for your investigation into this matter for all of the RAM owners out there. Be safe on the road and thank you for watching out for the consumer.
