I was driving along the highway at 11pm when I the vehicle started shaking and I heard strange sounds coming from outside the vehicle. I pulled over to inspect and realized it was coming from the engine bay. The engine was making knocking, rattling, and belt slipping noises and the entire vehicle was shaking and the engine also stuttering. I was able to drive the vehicle to a nearby plaza where I had it towed the following morning. There were no warning signs, the vehicle ran properly up until this occurred. The dealership inspected it and told me the engine needs to be replaced and it was likely that a rod bearing that went bad. This happened nearly 2 months ago and I am still waiting for a new engine.

Fuel Pump Module Failure at 27k miles, experienced total loss of power while driving. GM issued a recall for this part in other 2021 Tahoes, but said my vehicle is not included in the recall. Researching online this seems to be a large problem with this model year, yet they did not recall all vehicles. Clearly mine was effected.

I want to file a complaint on Chevy I have a high country, 2021, my dealership has had it for over 2 months, can't get the part to fix it - valve body- They have another one there, that's been there for 5 months, can't get the part. So, 2 Tahoes at same dealership, same problem, and can't get the part to fix. I have escalated to chevy, have a case number, chevy themselves can't get the part to fix my truck. But I still have to pay for it-big payment for something, I can't drive, isn't worth anything for trade and useless- I am furious. I have been a lifetime chevy owner-and this is changing my mind. Last nights communication with chevy escalation please read: Dear STACEY, We have the following update for your 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe, case number [XXX]. We are still experiencing a delay on the part(s) needed to repair your 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. We understand this is a significant inconvenience and we continue to work diligently to resolve the delay. If further information is made available, you will be contacted by your dealer or myself. Thank you again for your patience and please contact me to discuss any additional questions or concerns you may have. I can be reached at the number listed below or emailed at [email protected] (please reply with history to this email for fastest response). AND MY RESPONSE: Thank you for the update. However Janet, if you can not find the part. I want my truck fixed asap. If that means a new transmission then that means a new transmission. This is a Chevy problem and Chevy knows it. Otherwise, payoff my truck. Give me full value so I can trade it I owe $54k. Not to be a complete rude person. But if my truck doesn’t get fixed fast. I’m going to start escalating this to who ever will listen I know this isn’t your fault. But it’s not mine either. And I have a $1300 a month payment for something I can’t drive. And Chevy can’t fix! I'm [XXX] so not much night driving. The other night I left a meeting when I turned on headlights one is pointing down. Difficult to see and hard to stay between the lines. My vehicle has never ben in an accident nor had lights repaired. Checking online I see this is a problem for many Tahoe, Suburban and Yukon owners and perhaps even pickup trucks. In my opinion this represents a serious safety concern. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

After I washed my 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe, I went to run some errands. As I pushed the start button, the car would try to start but did not. I tried several times without success. I had the truck towed to Ed Morse Chevrolet in Sunrise, Florida. My odometer is at approximately 43,000 miles. About 3-4 months ago, at 42,000 miles, I had the same situation. I had to have the truck towed to Ed Morse. At the time, the Service Writer told me it was probably the fuel cell module and that Chevy has been a problem with them. The Service Writer surprisingly admitted that this issue could cause the truck to stop in the middle of your commute! I told him that an issue this serious needs a recall. So, today, when AAA picked up my truck, he said that this happens frequently and he towed many Chevrolet Tahoes and pickup trucks with this issue. The AAA technician even reiterated that the fuel cell modular failure shuts down your vehicle while driving! This is insane and troubling. Within 1000 miles, I will need 2 fuel cell modules and there is no guarantee that this one will last. 2 incidents of complete engine power loss while driving. Luckily was able to roll off road safely to curb. Dashboard glitch/flashing multiple/various message, including check engine, conditions not ideal to shift, etc. Would not re-start/shift when attempted. Tried disconnecting battery cable completely and re-connecting and that seemed to 're-set' the system and engine re-started. Incidents were about 30 days apart. "This battery reset" was tried because approx 1 year prior after leaving Tahoe parked at airport for a 7 day trip, it would not start, completely dead. Battery charge/jump would not work...watched youtube videos and someone said to try disconnect/reconnect cable and it worked to start it up at that time & did take it into Dealership after that incident and no-cost repairs were made for that issue. Called Chevy 3/25/25 on this power loss while driving issue to ask for information/assistance, they advised to take to dealership for diagnostic info/report and depending on result/cause might assist with costs to repairs. Appointment set for 3/28/2025 with Salem Oregon Chevrolet.

Transmission control module failed. I was driving at about 40 mph on a 4 lane street and it begin to feel like something was pulling the steering wheel to the left and I could not control the speed. I then pulled off into a parking lot and was facing a drainage ditch and needed to back the car into a space out of the way, it would not go into reverse. My husband met with me and was able to drive it forward to drive it to a dealership. The diagnosis was a failed transmission control module that cost us $2,478.

My vehicle is experiencing the same issue with the Third Row Headrests as outlined in a prior service bulletin (N202316750) for the same model year and make vehicle. My VIN number was not included in the bulletin, but I believe it should have been. The passenger side third row headrest will no longer stay up when the seat is engaged.

Approximately 4/14/24 while I was driving home from being out of town with my child the check engine light came on with a message “Reduced acceleration drive with care.” The car was not shifting and I couldn’t go over 45 mph and the rpm’s were about 3000 at that speed. The light went off and the car seemed to be driving normally. While on the interstate traveling at approximately 70 mph the car did a hard shift and drastically slowed while the rpm’s spiked. I took it to the dealership who determined the valve body needed to be replaced. Approximately August 2024 it happened again but the light went off. December 2024 same issues with the check engine light, reduced acceleration and not shifting happened. Took the car back 12/9/24 where a wire was replaced. Picked the car up 12/12/24 and 12/18/24 while driving in the car rider line picking my child up the car had a hard shift, check engine light came on, reduced acceleration message and the car would not shift. Notified the dealership immediately and took it back 12/26/24 where they did a second valve body replacement. 1/28/25 on my way home from running errands and was stopped at a red light and the car shifted hard, check engine light came on, reduced acceleration message and engine would not shift causing me to drive slowly to get home (40 mph or less). Dealership was notified immediately and took in the following day. Dealership had a week and had me pick it up because they “couldn’t replicate the issue.” 2/15/25 after driving 2 hours we pulled in a parking lot and the car shifted hard hard, check engine light came on, reduced acceleration and would not go into reverse. The dealership picked the car up and have had it since trying to replicate it. It occurs without warning while driving and will drastically slows the car down putting us a risk of being rear ended due to the rapid and speed change. It also is a safety risk due to lack of warning that a power failure is about to occur while driving.

The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start as intended. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact attempted to start the vehicle several times, however the vehicle failed to start. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked in an underground parking lot. The contact stated that four tow trucks attempted to tow the vehicle; however, the transmission had to be disconnected from underneath the vehicle to remove the vehicle from the underground parking garage. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed fuel pump power control module. The contact was informed that the fuel pump power control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact was informed of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V739000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. In addition, the contact stated that when the vehicle was retrieved from the dealer after the repair, the failure reoccurred. The contact stated the vehicle was started, and the vehicle was driven to the residence without the failure reoccurring. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. Valve body for 10 speed transmission suddenly malfunctioned while driving on I-95 at 60mph causing rear wheels to lock up for couple of seconds. Then, Engine rpm went to 5000. Error message displayed"reduced acceleration, drive with care" and "Unable to shift soon, service transmission soon". Upon taking to dealer, service advisor mentioned that it could be valve body issue. which is very common for these vehicles. After diagnosis from dealer, there were two codes: P0770 and P0776. Upon some research it was found that these issues are indeed very common for 10speed GM transmission. But, GM hasn't done much to address it. GM acknowledged the issue in their Oct, 2023 bulletin. This is a safety issue especially at highway speeds.

Vehicle just lost propulsion and would not move. Engine was running but just came out of gear and went into neutral at 70mph. Pulled off highway and vehicle would not go back into drive. Would not go into any gear except park. After a while it went into drive and would not go over 30mph. Limped into a nearby dealership and dropped it off. It took GM 47 days to figure out the issue yet the new part was installed immediately. Some sort of computer calibration glitch and GM didn't know the answer till I threatened a lawsuit. Still not confident it was repaired correctly. Dealership was fine and informative but GM blew me off.

Fuel module failure while driving, engine stalled and would not restart.., while at highway speed. Very dangerous situation!!!!! Tahoe was towed to dealership kept for. 1day. Chevy dealer replaced fuel module. We have owned 6 different Tahoes starting with the year 2015 to 2024. The fuel module failed on the 2021, 2022 and now the 2023!!!!!!! Makes us question if we should purchase a new Tahoe every other year? Seriously considering other car brands such as Ford, BMW or other more reliable brands!!!!
