Certain vehicles, serviced with a replacement engine, may have a condition in which the service engine camshaft cap bolts were not tightened to specification during the manufacturing process. If the camshaft cap bolts were not tightened to specification, they may loosen, resulting in loss of propulsion, reduced engine performance, and possible engine failure. A ?Service Engine Soon? message may illuminate on the vehicle?s Driver Information Center. Inspect and torque engine camshaft cap bolts.

The WSS is positioned too far away from the wheel bearing causing intermittent functionality. As a result, lubrication flow within the transmission may be compromised, and the transmission will wear prematurely. The customer may notice noise coming from the transmission area, or rough or irregular shifting. If the customer continues to drive the vehicle for an extended period after noticing these signs of wear, transmission failure may occur, resulting in a loss of propulsion. Replace Transmission.
