  I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction regarding a recurring issue with my vehicle’s catalytic converter pipe. At 37,000 miles, the left-hand (front bank) catalytic converter pipe near the cylinder head mounting flange weld failed and was replaced under warranty by GM. Now, at just 88,000 miles, the same pipe has cracked again—at the identical location—and is not being covered by GM, forcing us to pay for repairs out of pocket. This is not simply a case of wear and tear. The failure not only resulted in significant performance issues, but also caused the housing of the fan to melt due to excessive heat exposure, posing a serious safety hazard. This repeated failure clearly indicates a design or manufacturing defect, and I’m appalled that GM has not acknowledged this as a broader issue—despite evidence suggesting this is a known and frequent problem with this vehicle model. In my view, the failure of the same part in the same location twice, within a relatively low mileage span, reflects an unacceptable lack of quality control. It is deeply disappointing that GM has not issued a recall or offered to cover this repair, which is demonstrably caused by the same flaw as before. This situation feels less like responsible customer support and more like an attempt to profit from known issues, leaving loyal customers to shoulder the financial burden. I am requesting immediate reassessment of this case, full coverage for this second repair, and a formal acknowledgment of this defect. I also encourage GM to investigate this issue further and consider issuing a recall to prevent others from experiencing similar damage and expenses.

  I Took My Car To Castle Villa Park On July 8 2025 And Explained To Tony That Check My Car In That It Sound As If It Was A Hub Bearing My Car Was Dropped Off At 7:00 AM Until Around 1:00PM I Was Told I Need A Tire To See If It Was My Hub Bearing Which Didn’t Make Sense To Me So I Ask For A Supervisor I Was Then Inform That They Could Tell If They Switch My Tires Later On I Was Told It Was A Tire Came Took My Car To Firestone This Sat 07/19/2025 I Was Told I Didn’t Need Tires It Is In Fact Both Of My Hub Bearing So I Paid 100.00 Diagnostic Fee To Castle And Risking My Life Driving My Car When They Knew In Fact That It Was My Hub Bearings My Car Is Under Warranty If It Wasn’t They Would Have Fixed It And Charge Me I Am Taking My Car Back Monday I Have Made Several Complaints On This Dealer And Nothing Is Happening This Is Unfair For Consumer To Take Advantage Of Customers

  I have driving on highway [XXX] heading back home to yucca valley from oceanside driving in the left lane my steering wheel locked up my vehicle swerved let into a street sign and thr vehicle proceeded to turn right swerving on the road losing control of the vehicle my airbag never deployed and my riverside tire as well the drives haft fell off the vehicle and now my car is completely totaled luckily there were no other vehicles involved but there was another person in the car with me when the incident occurred, we both he whiplash.   I am leasing the car out. I’ve been leasing it out for the last three months since March I went delinquent on one of my payments because I have my mechanic look at it and type my VIN number in and they told me that I was recall he couldn’t tell me why I was recall Two days ago, which was Saturday, June 28. The lender called me and told me that the car was recalled. I tried to call him back to discuss what can be done. I have the payment, no response and I don’t have my car and my belongings are in it.

  The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while the vehicle was turned off and unattended in a parking lot. After about ten minutes, the contact was unlocking the vehicle and noticed fire inside the vehicle near the front of the vehicle near the radio and heater. The contact used a water bottle from the back seat to attempt to extinguish the fire. The fire was extinguished by a bystander using a fire extinguisher. There were no warning lights prior to the failure. There were no reported injuries. There was no police report filed, airbag deployment, or crash involved. The vehicle was towed to her residence. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, who opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 188,000.

  The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel failed to turn in the intended direction. Additionally, the message "Power Steering Failure" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that electric power steering control module(PSCM) had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. An unknown dealer was made aware of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The contact related the failure to an unknown recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure.   Last summer I was experiencing intermittent issues where the vehicle seemed to have a mind of its own while I was cruising. The steering wheel would randomly lock up as if it was forcing me to go straight on a curved road for example. It would happen a couple of more times until one day I was trying to go home from work and I saw a message indicating something along the lines of “Service: Power steering” followed by the same symptoms. I was able to temporarily remedy this by power cycling the vehicle for a couple of days until it went out completely, uttering me unable to effectively control the steering. I brought it to 2 difference dealerships and they charged me several diagnostic fees to assess that I needed a replacement power steering rack as the one in my vehicle had inexplicably short circuited. 5000 dollars later I managed to get it replaced but I notice similar issues for other vehicles by the same manufacturer within a similar span of model years being recognized in a recall for the exact same issues I was experiencing. Ive already attempted to reach out to General Motors and was given no suitable response to my claims.

  I've only had my car for about 2 1/2 months, when I started to notice my car moving to the right without me moving it. I figured it needed a front-end alignment. So, I took it to a mechanic. Once he got it up on the stand, he noticed something wrong with the front suspension. He didn't do the alignment, but he told me that my "Rack and pinion" was going out. I then made and appointment with the dealership. They looked at it and told me it was my steering and that it wasn't cover under my warranty and that the part to fix it was "Nowhere in the country to be found", and if I brought the part to them. They wouldn't put it on. So now I have a car note and insurance bill on a car that I'm afraid to drive. What are people supposed to do about these cars? It would seem that It's not just a me problem.

  Very loud abnormal ticking sound coming from the vehicle, failed actuators. Resulting in hvac loss. Arecall issued in 2014 for stabilitrak /abs for bad grounds on 2014 Chevy Impalas. HOWEVER 2.5 and 3.6 L engines were not included, BUT NEED TO BE!!! the car will drive rough and eventually just cut off in the middle of traffic highway or residential. This is what it did on me, putting me in a very dangerous position with my 5 year old in the car. This issue is effecting thousands of the same vehicles and GM's failure to address this issue is leaving the owners of the affected vehicles driving unsafe vehicles. GM / Chevy needs to issue a recall on ALLL the 2014 Impalas. (which they will not confirm or deny). While I was driving 60mph on an interstate my car notification screen displayed "service stabilitrak"/ "engine power reduced"... then my car acceleration seemed to have died and car slowed all the way down to around 20 mph with the gas pedal diwn to the floor... a big semi truck was behind me and had to break and swerve around me while blowing his horn...I was nearly killed.

  First battery needed replaced every year then few weeks ago with no warning light or messages that battery was dieing the battery died again it was replaced then it started reving up and down on its own while driving so it goes faster then slower on its own when it feels like it.. TPS wont show tire pressure cant relearn tire positions now dash lights works usually then don't bright lights don't work now if automatic light control is on car shakes bad while breaking idles hard uses ALOT of gas now massive amount of heat coming off engine now with no dash light or guage saying temp is going up engine smells kind of bad after driving the car replaced transmission once couple years ago transmission maybe going out again the gear shift locks don't work it slips out of gear and into another gear effortlessly while driving and while parked without pressing the button to move the gear shift clicking or tapping noise started coming from front end only when turning left now does it while.turning and sometimes while.going straight and it's all still happening... theres more but not going into all of it now. DTC code listed 2days ago was listed as: B1000-00 Electronic Control Unit. Searched Google for code and got posts saying ECU needs replaced..updated or reprogrammed and some say BCU needs replaced..upgraded or reprogrammed. Each time I search the code I get a different reason for the code and different meaning. I have a 2006 Chevy Impala SS 5.3L V8 with police package. Car is available for inspection anytime.

The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 117,892 and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was registered as 64,484.

The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the power steering, service stabili-trak, and the check engine warning lights illuminated, and the steering wheel seized briefly. The contact stated that shortly after the failure, the steering wheel unlocked, and the contact was able to continue driving safely. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the rack and pinion had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 180,000.

  Sunshade failure. The sunshade runs back and forth on track to close or open cloth cover. While driving with 4 main windows I pushed button to open shade halfway down the line the shade got off track and you could hear plastic cracking noises. I stopped the shade and pushed it closed more cracking noises and the the whole cloth fell and hung blocking all rear view while on freeway at normal speed. I was able to pull over and slowly push and assist cloth back into car frame so it's not hanging but it no longer works as intended. This is known and per dealership ove 1k for new track and requires moonroof removal to repair. Not covered under warranty

  I have push to start car. On my lunch i starting my car and I immediately notice the rpm went to 2500, which is high and it went up to 3000 and then the warning light flashed stability track error and check engine and swerving light I took a pic. I turn car off and wait a few min turned car back on and it was fine. No errors drove to get lunch and back no issues. Then on leaving work s ame thing happened but the error didn't go away. I was able to shift out of gear. Hard knocking, gear shifter light all white no clue what gear it was in I moved to another parking spot but was slow moving very delayed. Parked and now waiting for tow truck
