The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated the transmission had been seized in the park(P) position intermittently. The transmission would eventually release after manipulating the gear shifter several times. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,621.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Vehicle : 2019 Grand Sport Corvette Here’s what happened On or about Oct 14, 2021 I was driving on a multi-lane highway in an 50 mph zone, when the following occurred: -brakes suddenly slammed full-on, then immediately released …e.g., on/off in 0.25 of a second -windshield-wipes made one swish across the windshield -dashboard switched over to night mode -hands-free phone button lights on steering wheel turned off and would not function -hands-free phone function on display screen would not function properly -false maintenance warnings appeared on dash-display e.g. have rear axle checked and have restraint system checked -I stopped the car and turned it off. When I restarted the car everything was normal again! Note: this car does NOT have any automated braking systems. GM Canada and the GM Dealership have been unable to determine the cause of the above incident nor duplicate in during road-tests.

SEAT BELTS
In June 2020 my mechanic ran a recall check while performing my inspection. It showed 2 outstanding recalls for left and right seat belt retractor failures. I called 3 local Chevy dealers to set up a repair, and no one wanted to touch the vehicle. They all said to call GM. For the next few months I went back and forth with GM to set up repairs. They set up a reference number-9-6244952226. In a nutshell, they finally advised that they only repair recalls for a certain amount of time and I was out of luck because they no longer had the equipment in stock for repairs. I questioned why not just remove the 1988 seat belt retractors and retrofit retractors from a later model. They did not see my reasoning. I did not pursue this in 2021 due to covid, but I am driving the vehicle now and would like to make it safe. Can you help me? The recall numbers are N910058 and N910059. Thank you.

Both rear wheels bent. No damage to tires. Damage caused by normal driving on surfaced roads. Several unmarked bridge transitions and minor potholes. Damage detected when wheels were checked with laser on Hunter Road Force balancer. Front wheels were OK.

Transmission shudder a low acceleration. Requires Triple Transmission flush. Vehicle is 2016 Model with 10500 miles GM refused any responsibility. GM was aware they had an issue with the transmission fluid. It has gone through two reformulations to correct the issue.

Strong odor of gas fumes in driver compartment, seems to eminate from driver side. Plastic flange on top of fuel pump is cracked and spews gas to surrounding area. Smell is constant regardless of fuel level. GM has been aware of problem for years but has yet to issue recall. They did issue temporary special coverage adjustment not adequate for earlier model years where issue was systemic. Yes my car is available for inspection. This is health and safety issue which should warrant a recall. Fire hazard as well. No warning lamps appear on dash.

I recently purchased a 2011 Chevy Corvette Grand Sport from a dealer in South Florida named Greico Chevrolet in Del Rey Beach. It was purchased used and as is from this dealer, but this appears to be a quite dangerous problem. I smell gasoline on the drivers side wheel well most of the time and sometimes the smell seeps through the car into the cabin. This is not from overfilling the tank (which I do not do anyway). I researched this issue and it appears to be an issue with two GM cars. See this statement and let me know if I have a claim: "GM Special coverage adjustment 15682 update July 2016 .Condition Some 2007 to 2009 model year Cadillac XLR and 2007 to 2013 model year Chevrolet Corvette vehicles may have a condition where a fuel odor is detected, fuel droplets appear below the left-hand fuel tank with fuel gauge level above 1/2, or a malfunction indicator lamp illuminates due to a leak path in the left-hand fuel pump module flange. Special Coverage Adjustment This special coverage covers the condition described above for a period of 10 years or 120,000 miles (193,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership. For vehicles covered by Vehicle Service Contracts, all eligible claims with repair orders on or after July 25, 2016, are covered by this special coverage and must be submitted using the labor operation codes provided with this bulletin. Claims with repair orders prior to July 25, 2016, must be submitted to the Service Contract provider. Correction Dealers are to replace the left hand fuel tank fuel pump module. The repairs will be made at no charge"

I purchased this 2011 corvette on December 31st, 2021. I drove it home and parked it in the garage. The next day I smelled gas but couldn’t find any leaks. Yesterday I had the car on a lift and changed the transmission filter and fluid. While I was underneath it, I noticed liquid streaks on the left fuel tank and possibly on the right tank also. Today I googled corvette C6 gas leaks and found all the information on the problems regarding plastic on fuel pumps cracking or seals failing. I am sure that my car is having the same problem. It sounds like GM sent owners letters (possibly in 2017) which stated they would extend the warranty for 20 years or 120,000 miles. Many owners stated that their cars were over the time limit or miles when they received the letter. I feel GM should recall these cars since a fuel leak has to be the most dangerous item out there. I worry that my house could burn down or it starts on fire while I drive it.

SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:ANTILOCK
The service active handling and the traction control error is appearing on my cars instrument panel. Causing the cars ABS system to activate the front brakes while driving.This reaction causes the car to pull to the left, nearly causing an accident. It has random affected my car here recently. In that years that I have owned the car I have not had an issue. However, I see that this issue has been widely reported on this generation. Although I don’t see a recall for this issue. I do see that this is very dangerous. I feel lucky that this did not happen as I was traveling at a higher rate of speed or I probably would have wrecked the car.

April 26, 2022  VIA CERTIFIED MAIL General Motors 300 Renaissance Center Detroit, MI 48243 RE: Request for Informal Dispute Resolution/Buy back Vehicle: 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Date of purchase: 4/2/2022 Dealership of purchase: Southern Chevrolet Alexandria, LA Mileage at purchase: 26 Mileage upon return: 105 I am writing this letter to inform you of problems that I am experiencing with the above referenced vehicle; which was purchased new from Southern Chevrolet 5845 Coliseum Blvd Alexandria, LA 71301. As mentioned above, I purchased and obtained possession of the 2022 Corvette on 4/1/2022. At the time of the purchase, the Corvette had 26 miles on the odometer. The problems began on Sunday, 4/10/22, when I noticed fluid puddled under the car and shockingly the factory installed racing stripes bubbling in several areas. At that time, I immediately made contact with Chaise Crooks who was the salesman upon purchase to notify him of the problem and to request assistance with a loaner and much needed service appointment the following day. Mr. Crooks replied to my text message. The following day at 11:21am, I contacted Mr. Crooks again and was informed that the earliest that I could bring the car to the dealership for attention would be Wednesday, 4/13/22. Of course, I was disappointed as this left me worried and without transportation to and from work. I asked again about a loaner and was informed that nothing was available, but it could be reevaluated if the car would need to be in service for a lengthy period. On 4/13/22, I dropped the car off and waited for 45 minutes for a courtesy shuttle because no one could locate the driver and the department was in complete chaos. Almost every C5 (1997-2004) Corvette is affected by a faulty electronic brake control module. When this module fails, the car illuminates the ABS and traction control light. And displays service abs and service traction control messages. This is a serious safety issue as when this happens, the abs brakes no longer work nor does the traction control. It blows my mind how this has never been recalled especially on a rear drive sports car.

The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated upon purchasing the vehicle and driving at 25 MPH, the headlights flickered on and off. The contact was able to continue to drive. The contact later received an unknown recall notification from the manufacturer regarding the headlight failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who completed the recall repair; however, the failure reoccurred several times while driving. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 1.

Vehicle has less than 8k miles and right rear wheel has a stress fracture on inside of wheel. Zero signs of damage to the tire or anything indicating cause of fracture was from a road hazard. Fracture causes a slow air leak. Hundreds if not 1000s of corvette owners 2015-2019 have had this issue.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Fuel tank has a leak and the unburned fuel sits on top of the tank. The whole inside of the cabin smells strong of fuel and goes away about five minutes after driving. The unburned fuel and the smell only happen when the vehicle is parked and turned off. I have called the dealership about this issue multiple times and am still waiting for a call back to see what can be done. It has been about one month and still haven't received anything back. With the unburned fuel sitting on the top of the tank, while driving it could spill onto the exhaust pipes and cause a fire. There has been no warning lights of any kind that would have told me that something was wrong.
