ENGINE
At 85,000 miles the timing chain triggered the check engine light to come on. At 100,037 miles the engine was burning oil. Three mechanics confirmed that the engine needed to be replaced. An estimated cost of $8,000 - $12,000.

Gasoline drips out under the car after fill up. About 1/2 quart comes out and makes a puddle about 5 foot in diameter. Happens after every fill up. I turned in a NTHTSA complaint about fuel vapor smells after fill up on 9/6/2020 but heard nothing back. The problem has obviously progressed to leaking liquid gasoline on the ground.

There is a very strong fuel odor coming from the car when I shut it down, especially when I park in the garage. The smell is overwhelming. Seems like it's coming from the rear part of the car, drivers side. I don't see fuel leaking nor on the garage floor, but it is very evident there is a problem. This is a safety issue that needs to be addressed. thank you

My corvette developed a cracked wheel. We took it to the Dealership that put new tires on a week ago because the low air alarm came on. They informed me the wheel was cracked and denied damaging it when putting on the new tires. “It just happens” was their claim. Now we learn there is a class action lawsuit because so many generation C7 Corvettes are suffering unexplainable wheel failures. GM is denying warranty claims and it’s costing the car owners thousands of dollars to replace wheels. The wheel I need is going to be $1200 and will likely be yet another OEM wheel prone to the same problem. Should this not be something in your agencies purview to investigate?

My car with only 17,000 is generating a very strong gas smell, which completely fills my garage. I've read old notices that preferred to this problem and saw there was many reports in the past from your organization about this problem, that now have all been pulled. As any Corvette forms on line reflects, as it is a continuous problem. I now am keeping mine outside, because of the strong odor. There isn't a gas leak per a Chevrolet dealer and I can't afford the $1,000 in additional labor, their estimate to attempt to figure out. Please assist us (the thousands of other owners effecting 2007 -in 2013). SERVICE BRAKES, STEERING
my service active handling and traction control light will come on randomly and disappear, when it does come on usually my car will brake on one side of the car and skip and skid over to one side. when it happens I have zero control of the braking and steering and it has taken my car into another lane completely. it is terrifying and I've had the whole brake system replaced, along with ecm, ebcm, rack and pinion all suspension and steering components, wiring harness and just about everything I could think of that may cause it. I have a tilting telescope steering wheel and I've heard that they can cause this

I have been informed and subsequently read that it is a known problem by GM Chevrolet Corp. I cannot locate an issued recall for this widely known problem with C6 Corvettes

The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated while attempting to refuel the vehicle, gasoline was overflowing and leaking from the fuel filler neck. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that there was an abnormal fuel odor while starting the vehicle. The contact spoke with the dealer who confirmed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 10,600.

Hawley Motors delivered vehicle to our home on 10/23/2022 that we had just purchased and pick up our trade-in vehicle. We put the newly purchased vehicle in the garage within a short time started to smell fuel. At that time, we just thought they over filled tank and that was just from the over filling. Next day when we return from an event in the evening, the smell had permeated throughout the home not just garage. I checked online and found that this is a common problem with this vehicle and year. The plastic fuel module cracks and let's fuel leak. These is obviously very dangerous!

Started loosing tire pressure on L/R tire, local tire shop informed and showed me that my left rear rim has a crack which causes loos of air. This is a known issue that GM wants to blame on drivers but issue stems from GM using cheaper cast aluminum materials instead of forged materials which are better suited due to the amount of torque that the ZO6 models generated. *Note* GM used forged material on their ZR1 models!!

Gm refuse to repurchase below is a overview. they are refusing engineering assitance to the dealership to fix the problem. Next week the car will be there a month again. This is the 7th time on this repair which was a recall by your org. The last repair last 153 days. This problem make the car unsafe to drive the dealer also agrees it is unsafe to drive. My car is back at the dealership for the same recall situation. The corvette has been rendered undrivable due to the number of recall repairs that have failed. They are again waiting for a GM engineer. A new case has been opened at the CEO’s office. It was submitted last year for repurchase they not to. The dealership says they should I agree. Gm decline yesterday to repurchase the car. The dealer ship feels it is unsafe to drive Saul Saldano who run the repair shop at Mission Bay chevy. Owned by his family Saldana auto group. When I emailed the CEO and she referred it to their exec team you can who I worked with to get an engineer on site at the dealership last year. I will describe more in my overview below. Overview: I purchased the car in 2013 black on black corvette convertible 6 speed on the floor fully loaded. The car worked perfectly until August 2011 that work order is attached. The dealer performed a recall repair on the steering harness and column lock. They left the lock nut for the steering column off it was found later under the driver’s side seat. The steering came off in my wife’s hands while driving on 4hth st downtown San Diego. The car sustained damage lucky no one was hurt this occurred in 12/01/2011 that work order is attached. The harness failed several times afterwards however I only have records back to 2014. The dealership purged records before 2014. Since 2014 the car has consistently had to return to the dealership to have another lock and harness installed. I can send those work orders on another email. Drivers side fuel tank/system leak Leaking fuel in this area can/will result in a catastrophic fire which could lead to injury or death The problem just occurred but is a common problem for this generation Z06 Corvette The odd thing is no warning light, check engine light or messages displayed, just the smell of fuel and 18 inch puddle on the floor beneath the drivers side fuel tank. The fuel level according to the gauge is 1/2 tank.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated that while the vehicle was in reverse(R), the transmission failed to engage as the gear indicator light began to flash and the service transmission message was displayed on the instrument panel. After multiple attempts, the contact was able to engage the transmission and drove the vehicle to dealer where they were unable to diagnose or service the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a complaint was filed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 812.

WHEELS
Took the car to discount tire since the tire lost air (run flat tires). They removed the tire and the rear passenger side rim has one 3 inch and two additional cracks in the rim. No warning signs of this issue while driving at highway speeds earlier in the day. The large crack was leaking air. Rims are discontinued by Chevrolet and no replacements are available. Had to drive the car home which was an obvious safety issue. A large number of other drivers are faced with the same safety issue over these defective rims. I will add myself to any class action lawsuits over this issue so that no one is injured due to a total rim failure.
