SummarySupersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-73 dated March 7, 2013. The engine warning light is on after engine replacement. The engine is not running roughly. However, the engine control module, J623 (01), is storing one or more of the following engine misfire fault codes: DTCs P0300 - P0304. The fault codes occur at light load, between 8% and 14% accelerator pedal position. The programmed values for the misfiring recognition are not automatically reset by deleting the memory once.

SummaryOwner manual supplement information added. As diesel engine passenger vehicles become more popular, auto manufacturers have seen an increase in the number of misfueling cases where diesel engine vehicles are mistakenly fueled with gasoline. The resulting fuel system contamination can lead to costly repairs that are not covered under warranty. As an additional safeguard to help prevent a gasoline fuel pump nozzle from being used to fuel a TDI® Clean Diesel engine vehicle, dealers will install a misfueling guard in the fuel filler neck of vehicles affected by this action. Additionally, a new fuel filler neck cap will also be installed. Please note: The misfueling guard is designed to prevent a gasoline fuel pump nozzle from entering a vehicle?s fuel filler neck, thereby reducing the risk of fuel system contamination from gasoline. Even with this guard installed, remind anyone who refuels the vehicle that it requires diesel fuel, and to double-check the fuel pump to ensure the correct fuel is selected before filling the tank.

SummaryIf the vehicle?s engine experienced a serious mechanical problem, it is possible that small pieces of metal debris resulting from the mechanical problem may have become deposited in the intake manifold, air intake hoses, exhaust manifolds, exhaust down-pipes, turbocharger, supercharger, and/or intercooler. If these pieces are not removed prior to the installation and operation of the replacement engine, the pieces may be drawn into the combustion chamber, which can cause a knocking noise and subsequent serious engine damage.

Summarya faulty intake manifold may cause the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on the instrument cluster to illuminate due to the presence of specific fault codes caused by this component and/or a faulty fuel injector may cause minor misfire conditions and, in turn, cause the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on the instrument cluster to illuminate due to the presence of specific fault codes caused by this component. Please note that it is highly unlikely that your vehicle will experience an issue with both the intake manifold and/or multiple fuel injectors at the same time. In our continuing efforts to assure proper performance of Audi vehicles, your dealer will diagnose and replace a faulty intake manifold and/or a faulty fuel injector if necessary, at no cost to you as long as the vehicle remains within the time and mileage limits of this warranty extension. Please keep this letter with your Warranty booklet and deliver it to any new owner, along with the owner?s manual.

SummaryAudi has determined that, under specific conditions a faulty intake manifold may cause the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on the instrument cluster to illuminate due to the presence of specific fault codes caused by this component. The MIL is part of the on-board diagnostic system. Please refer to the owner's manual for additional information about the MIL. In some locales, an illuminated Malfunction Indicator Lamp could cause the vehicle to fail an IM emissions inspection, and the vehicle registration application could be denied. Be aware that other conditions (unrelated to the issue described in this bulletin) may cause the MIL in the vehicle to illuminate. Customers should be prepared to cover all diagnosis and repair costs for these other, unrelated conditions. This warranty extension covers only the diagnosis and replacement of the intake manifold.

SummarySupersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-18 dated August 1, 2013. MIL on. DTC P2293 (Fuel pressure regulator 2 performance) is stored in the engine control module (ECM). DTC P2293 (Fuel pressure regulator 2 performance) is stored in the engine control module (ECM). DTCs may be stored in combination with DTC P2293. Excessive wear of the cam lobe (in the intake camshaft) that drives the high pressure fuel pump limits the maximum pump piston lift, causing fuel rail pressure fluctuations. The wear on the cam lobe also leads to wear in the base of the high pressure fuel pump cam follower.

SummaryAs part of Audi's ongoing commitment to our environment, Audi is extending the Emissions Control Systems Warranty to cover cleaning of the engine cylinder head secondary air ports to remove carbon buildup under specific conditions to 10 years or 120,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's original in-service date for certain 2009-12 Model Year Audi vehicles with 3.2L engine, and certain 2009-2013 Model Year Audi vehicles with 3.0T engines. The vehicle's original in-service date is defined as the date the vehicle was delivered to either the original purchaser or the original lessee; or if the vehicle was first placed in service as a "demonstrator" or "company" car, on the date such vehicle was first placed in service. The warranty extension is fully transferable to subsequent owners. Audi has determined that under certain driving conditions, carbon buildup can occur in the engine cylinder head secondary airports. Due to the presence of specific fault codes caused by this carbon buildup, the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on the instrument cluster may illuminate. The MIL is part of the on-board diagnostic system. In some locales, an illuminated MIL could cause the vehicle to fail an IM emissions inspection, vehicle registration application could be denied. Audi will diagnose, and if necessary clean the engine cylinder head secondary air ports to remove the carbon buildup at no cost to the customer as long as the vehicle is within the time and mileage limits of the warranty extension. This warranty extension covers only the diagnosis and cleaning of the cylinder head secondary air ports to remove the carbon buildup. Reimbursement is applicable only to the repairs described in this Warranty Bulletin.
