Headlights are so dim almost impossible to drive at night. Dealership says nothing is wrong with them.

The headlight reflector has been burned by the halogen lamp. After doing some research it’s a very common problem. Replacing the halogen bulb does nothing as the reflector does not work. Honda/ Acura is denying any responsibility. The car has ZERO visibility at night. The light power is equivalent to a candle light

The car was parked in ~40 degree, sunny weather while running some errands. Upon returning to the car, entering, and closing the driver's door, the rear window glass (on the tailgate) shattered. The glass was shattered throughout the entire glass panel, including at the edges. A ~15"x"10" section in the middle fell into the luggage compartment. Acura service bulletin 22-014 describes this behavior and attributes it to an incorrect spec rear defroster grid. Thankfully this didn't happen while driving, but if it did, it could have been quite dangerous to the driver, due to the surprise, and to following cars due to flying glass.

The headlights are so dim that I have to drive with the high beams on at all times or I can’t see. I even had an Acura dealer try to clean them and it didn’t help. It’s crazy that this is a known issue (according to the Acura dealership) and this hasn’t been recalled. I’m basically driving in the dark or can’t drive at all at night.

The low beam headlights are so dim that it is dangerous to drive at night. We must drive with high beams on in order to be safe on the road. It is unsafe for the car, us and other drivers to have the RDX on the road using low beams. In 2021, we had the vehicle inspected by the dealership, they informed us that the fix would be a $1200 replacement of the headlights. They offered to clean the lenses at a reduced cost, which we had already done, but this did not fix the problem. There are no warning lights or other indicators of the problem except that we cannot see at night.

My 2015 Acura RDX has such dim headlights, that I feel that it is not safe to drive at night. The headlights have gotten so dim that I can't even tell if they are on, unless I drive by a building and see the lights in the reflection. The only way I can drive safely is to have my high beam headlights on, which is not safe for other drivers. As I understand it, the 2015 Acura RLX has had recalls for a very similar headlight issue. Why hasn't this recall been extended to the 2015 RDX, which appears to be built off the same platform, and is having the same issue?

The contact owns a 2021 Acura RDX. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in the driveway, he entered and started the vehicle; the contact then shifted from park(P) to drive(D) and the gear shifter independently shifted back into park(P). The contact stated that the failure had occurred three times within several months. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated the vehicle had been taken to two Acura dealers however, the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000. The VIN was unavailable.

The headlights are horrible. I am unable to drive safely without using my bright lights. When I dim my headlights before approaching an oncoming car it is dangerous. On October 28, 2023 I did just that and missed seeing a deer due to the lack of visibility due to the defective headlights and hit the deer damaging my vehicle's right headlights. Prior to the accident, I invested in installing fog lights to remedy the situation, but it still did not help. I am holding Acura responsible for my accident which was due to defective headlights.

On October 25th 2023 I got into my 2020 Acura RDX. I closed my front driver side door, didn't slam it, and my rear window shattered. Glass everywhere.

The panoramic sunroof exploded on our Acura RDX model 2021. Me, my wife and our 3 month old son were returning from dinner, we took the ramp and about to merge on a highway then we heard a loud and sudden explosive noise which scared all of us. Thank God we had the sunroof blind partially closed over the real infant seat, so the glass shatters left some minor cuts on my left forearm and back (glass pieces got between my back and driving seat). Also, the glass pieces did cut the sunroof blind/rolling cloth screen. We are glad that we made home safe and not sure what is the process of getting the issue fixed by the manufacturer and thorough cleaning up of the glass remains/dust. Please advise.

Over a period of about 1 year the low beam headlights dimmed to a point that the vehicle was unsafe to drive at night. The lights provided no illumination. The dealership (Ron Tonkin Acura) did tell me that the reflector in that model and year could deteriorate and be "less" reflective. They recommended purchasing replacement components on Amazon ($418.99) and have them installed at the dealership ($435.62). I purchased the parts and had them installed. The dealership also told me that they did not have enough information to say if the replacements lights would have the same issue.

I was driving on the highway and it was raining. I tried to pass another car so I started to accelerate. But during my attempt to accelerate, my 2019 Acura RDX would not respond to throttle response. So I slowly started to loose speed the car. The engine warning light started to flash and the car came to a stop on a dangerous road construction area with no medians. I had to turn on my hazards and wait ON THE ROAD at night. I quickly turned off the engine and tried to turn the engine on again. When I turned the engine on it no error codes were shown and the check engine light was gone. I started to drive again and was able to get to a service road. After a while I decided to try to keep driving so I could get home and when I was merging into the highway, it happened again. The same situation, I was accelerating when my engine decided to stop accelerating and flash the check engine light (it didn’t stall but it wouldn’t respond to throttle response). I stopped on the side of the road and turned the engine off before turning it on again. Again the check engine light was not on, and the car acted like nothing happened. It seems like accelerating to higher speed in the rain is a huge safety issue…

When my car hit approximately 100,000 miles noted greatly decreased visibility for night time driving due to poor output from what I thought was the lights. Had Acura dealer replace lights with no change noted. They then suggested I have someone else(because they wouldn’t do it) replace bulbs with LED bulbs. Had LBulbs changed to LED with no change. This is a major safety issue as I do not have adequate or any visible lighting with my low beams making it impossible to be able to see to drive at night. This is extremely dangerous. Acura will not do anything. I did research online and noted many people with same or similar year RDX talking about this issue and reporting it. Online I found this: it’s a very real problem that is common to the 2013, 2014, and 2015 Acura RDX base model. It’s outrageous that Acura hasn’t recalled it. The low-beam reflector itself oxidizes, is not reflective at all, and no amount of brighter bulbs or clean outside lenses will help with a reflector that doesn’t reflect. (It’s also not related to the cloudy inner-lens. It’s the reflector.) Looks like there are several complaints about that gen RDX and its HIDs getting dim at around 100k. Focus seems to be converging on the reflector and/or the fresnel lens degrading. There’s even a law firm doing some preliminary work to judge whether or not to file a class action.

I just recently purchased this vehicle on 10/18/23. I purchased it during the daytime so was unaware of the headlight problem until I had to drive at night time. The low beams are extremely dim! I checked all fuses, relays and bulbs and everything is in good working order. Reached out to my local dealership and they advised this is a known issue but has not been recalled. The housing assembly causes delamination over time and will cost me more than $2,000 to replace the entire headlight assembly on both sides and Acura is aware of this issue and recalled the headlight problem on similar Acuras of the same year but refuses to fix this safety problem. I can not see when driving at night unless my highbeams are on which is illegal on the highway!

Headlights horribly dim on low - only illuminate the roadway at night if on high beams. Took it into the dealership today and was told it would be $2,500 to replace the reflectors and basically re-do the whole front headlamp area. We had this car mainly garaged during COVID when working from home 100%. Now that we drive it more, we realize it has become unsafe -cannot see to drive at night at all. Other vehicles with this problem have had recalls - RDX models of this 2015 year need to also be recalled so the problem can be fixed before causing accidents.

The contact owns a 2022 Acura RDX. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the sunroof fractured while it was raining, and water entered the cabin of the vehicle through the sunroof. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was currently being repaired by the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.

We were driving our 2022 Acura RDX on the expressway when the we suddenly heard a very loud pop/explosion. A few moments later we could hear wind above our heads. We realized the sunroof had literally exploded and shattered. Neither me nor my passenger saw any road debris whatsoever and believe this simply happened without any warning or cause.

The contact owns a 2014 Acura RDX. The contact stated while driving at various speeds at night, the low beam headlights were significantly dimmed, diminishing the visibility of the roadway. The contact stated that the high-beam headlights were activated to safely drive at night. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the low-beam headlights were replaced, and the lenses were cleaned; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 49,000.

I have been having issues with the external low beams for the past 9months-1 year. They have progressively been getting more dim to now I can't even drive my car at night without using my high beams. I have replaced the bulbs and done headlight restoration without any improvement. There have been no warning lamps or messages on my car at all.
