The steering on this 2026 Acura Integra at 5000 miles has progressively become sticky and stuck while driving. Although the 2026 model is not in the prior recall, (it should be added to include 2026 model) the same defect has occurred in this new model. The dealer is aware and is replacing the Steering Wheel Assembly on my car.

Often while driving and turning the steering wheel the steering wheel will get stuck or start to bind and I will have to apply some force to get it unstuck. Sometimes it is worse than others and can get to the point where I can turn the wheel to go around a turn and I can let go and the steering wheel stays stuck in that same position. No warning or failure notifications from the car. I took it to the dealer to be repaired under warranty. They replicated the issue and replaced the electronic steering rack.

The steering gets sticky and hard to control and make small corrections at highway speeds. It feels very unsafe to drive as the steering feels like im ping ponging on the road and causes me to get close to others cars almost causing a crash. This has been on going since September of this year and I only bought the car in March of this year 2026. Please help.

Failed Recall Remedy / Recurring Safety Defect: Electronic Power Steering BindingMy vehicle previously underwent the official manufacturer remedy for NHTSA Safety Recall Campaign 24V744 (Acura steering gearbox defect). The recall is marked as "Completed" on my VIN.Despite the remedy being performed, the dangerous safety defect has fully returned. While driving at highway speeds, the electronic power steering (EPS) exhibits a severe "sticky" and "notchy" sensation. The steering wheel momentarily catches, binds, and resists minor steering inputs, requiring excessive physical force to break the steering free, which results in sudden, dangerous overcorrections. When I returned the vehicle to an authorized Acura dealership (Team Gillman Acura, Houston, TX) to report the failed remedy, the dealership refused to diagnose or repair the vehicle. The service department stated that because the initial recall campaign had already been marked completed on my VIN, and because the vehicle is outside its standard factory warranty mileage, they have no obligation to address the recurring steering failure. The manufacturer's grease-and-spring recall remedy has failed to resolve the underlying mechanical defect (swelling worm gear/housing friction). The vehicle remains inherently unsafe to drive, and the manufacturer is refusing to provide a permanent remedy (steering gearbox replacement) for this active, federally recognized safety hazard.

Incident occurred on 9/17/26 while driving at highway speed. When taking a left hand curve steering wheel feels sticky and bumps while going around curve. No issues noted when taking a right hand curve. No issue when making a hard (90 degree) left hand or right hand turn and no issues noted with slight curves in road. Only noticed while in significant left hand curves at speeds of 35-65mph. In addition, while driving straight, steering wheel intermittently ticks with no change in direction of vehicle. Car is scheduled for diagnostics on Monday, 9/21/26. Car will not be driven outside of taking it to the dealership on 9/21 due to feeling unsafe while taking left hand curves. This is the second time the vehicle will be looked at for the steering wheel ticking while driving straight. The first event occurred 12/10/25 at 12,997 miles. The dealer was unable to reproduce the problem.

2025 Acura Integra A Spec- I have driven the car around 12,000 miles total and recently have been noticing the steering wheel is “sticking” intermittently. Very dangerous especially because it’s more likely to happen on the highway on long gradual turns

VEHICLE & TRANSACTION DETAILS Vehicle: 2023 Acura Integra | VIN: [XXX] Purchaser: [XXX] | Authorized Rep: [XXX] Selling Dealer: Carvana, LLC | Delivery Date: XXX STATEMENT OF SAFETY HAZARD & DEFECT I am filing a formal vehicle safety complaint against Carvana, LLC for delivering a passenger vehicle in an unroadworthy, dangerous condition. On XXX, Carvana delivered the 2023 Acura Integra (VIN: [XXX]). Immediate post-delivery inspection by an authorized repair facility confirmed the vehicle was delivered with four severely worn, defective tires measuring below legal safety thresholds, along with a severe alignment defect. IMPACT ON VEHICLE CONTROL & PUBLIC SAFETY Delivering a vehicle with dangerously worn tires and severe alignment issues directly compromises basic vehicle safety and highway operation: Hydroplaning & Braking Failure: Tires worn past safe limits lack water evacuation channels, causing loss of control and extended stopping distances in wet conditions. Tire Failure Risk: Operating tires past wear indicators dramatically increases the risk of high-speed tread separation or sudden blowout. Handling Degradation: The severe alignment defect impairs emergency evasive steering and causes unpredictable vehicle pulling. DEALER CERTIFICATION FAILURE Carvana explicitly represented this vehicle as having passed a mandatory "150-Point Inspection" and certified it as roadworthy. Delivering a vehicle with four non-compliant tires demonstrates a major breakdown in basic safety quality control. I request that NHTSA log this complaint, assign an official tracking number, and investigate commercial dealer compliance regarding tire safety standards prior to vehicle delivery. Diagnostic reports and tread depth photos are available upon request. Sincerely, [XXX] (on behalf of [XXX]) [XXX] | [XXX] | [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- #11751954July 21, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
While approaching a slowing car on the offramp, the Acura's automatic braking slammed on the brakes abruptly while flashing "Brake" on the dash. The car stopped well short of the car in front. This abrupt, uncommanded stopping resulted in a near miss whereby the driver behind my car nearly hit me. In addition to stopping sooner than required, and thus giving the driver behind me less chance to react, the system did not apply full braking force, but more like 90-95% of maximum braking force. This is an example of Schroedinger's automatic emergency braking, where a situation is simultaneously "unavoidable" such that the car intervenes, yet not dire enough to apply full braking. This car will stop from 60mph in less than 110 feet, but the system appears to be calibrated for a much lower performance car with tires made of wood, such as an A-Spec or Technology Package Acura. This car has had previous incidents of defective automatic braking at low speeds, however with nobody behind me these did not result in a near miss. During the 20 months that I have owned the car it has slammed the brakes while pulling into my garage as well. For some inexplicable reason, Acura's calibration engineers think that I am going to drive through my water heater and furnace after 25 years of driving with no accidents. Due to these previous incidents, I had adjusted the "distance" parameter for the AEB to the shortest allowable, but it still activates unnecessarily. While this low speed braking defect will not cause a serious injury or fatality, it is yet another example of the poor execution that plagues this car. In summary, the automatic braking system on this car is dangerous and unusual, and is mis-calibrated considering the performance capability of the car.

- #11750057July 13, 2026AIR BAGS
The contact owns a 2025 Acura Integra. The contact stated that while driving through an intersection at approximately 15 MPH, another vehicle ran the red light and struck the front passenger’s side of the vehicle, causing the contact to crash into another vehicle before coming to a stop. The contact stated that upon the initial impact, his wife's head struck the front passenger’s side window. The contact stated that there was a delay in the side curtain air bag deploying, and the passenger was trapped between the air bag and the side window. The contact exited the vehicle from the driver's side and opened the passenger’s side door from the outside to free his wife. There was no warning light nor audible sounds before the crash. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. A Police report was filed. The front seat passenger sustained a bump on the right side of the head, bruising on the left cheek, jaw, and chest, blurred vision in the left eye, an injury to the bridge of her nose, muscle ache on the left side of the neck, a long abrasion extending from the ribs to the hips, and aching pain from the right shoulder down to the elbow. The passenger was taken to the Emergency Room for medical treatment. The passenger was the only one injured in the crash. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 5,510.

On Sunday, June 7th at around 1330, the sunroof spontaneously exploded outward while driving in Amarillo, TX. Was driving at highway speed, 60mph on I-27. No overpass above and no cars in front. Was around 95 degrees and sunny outside. Loud explosion inside of car, then sounds of glass going on top of roof and back deck of car. Driver of car did not swerve but immediately braked and pulled to side of highway but did cause immediate distress. Passenger in car also was extremely distressed when loud noise occurred. Car behind us saw black glass go upward and out ward with glass landing on their car which caused then to immediately slow down on highway. We were fortunate to have the inside sliding panel closed when this occurred protecting the occupants from immediately glass and possible injuries.

I am writing to formally escalate an unaddressed, severe safety defect regarding my 2025 Acura Integra Type S (Current Mileage: ~5,000 miles). My vehicle is experiencing the exact mechanical "sticky steering" and steering gearbox binding symptoms outlined in NHTSA Campaign 24V-744. While driving at highway speeds, the steering wheel sticks in the dead-center position and requires a sudden, jerky physical force to break it free to maintain lane control. This creates an immediate, highly dangerous accident risk. I have already presented this vehicle to my local Acura dealership multiple times for diagnosis. Because the defect is thermal and intermittent, the dealership technicians have stated they "cannot replicate" the issue on their short test drives, and because my specific VIN is not actively flagged on the recall database, their hands are tied under standard procedures.

The contact owns a 2024 Acura Integra. The contact stated that after pulling into a self-service car wash vacuum bay, the contact started drying the vehicle. The contact dried both the passenger-side front and rear doors, the trunk and the driver-side rear door. While drying the driver-side front door, the vehicle suddenly moved unintendedly about 15 ft. The contact grabbed the door frame and was eventually able to bring the vehicle to a stop, preventing a crash or injury. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact was initially informed that a manufacturer field technician would need to inspect the vehicle; however, the contact was later informed that the manufacturer had sent instructions on how to service the vehicle, which the contact deemed unsatisfactory due to the safety risk. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle had previously rolled after being parked and turned off, with the parking brake engaged. There was no warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the TPMS reading had failed to display, the collision mitigation braking system had engaged erroneously, and the windows had rolled up and down unintendedly. The contact also stated driving at 5 MPH in a parking lot, an abnormal booming sound emanated from the passenger's side of the vehicle. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and filed a case. The failure mileage was approximately 4,558.

Vehicle: 2024 Acura Integra Affected Component: Steering Gearbox Assembly / Electric Power Steering (EPS) Related Recall: NHTSA Campaign Number 24V-744 / Acura TSB 24-054 Description of Incident: My vehicle is actively experiencing the dangerous "sticky," heavy, and "notchy" steering defect outlined in NHTSA Campaign 24V-744, which causes a sudden increase in steering effort at highway speeds. The authorized franchise dealership previously performed the initial recall remedy (grease/spring kit replacement). However, this remedy completely failed to resolve the underlying manufacturing defect, and the hazardous steering behavior persists, making the vehicle unsafe to operate. Because I live on an isolated island with only one authorized Acura franchise facility, I have no alternative dealership options. The local dealership management and the visiting Acura Field Technical Specialist are formally refusing to diagnose, evaluate, or replace this defective steering rack. They are using the presence of an unrelated, aftermarket air suspension modification—which was installed after the failed recall attempt and does not physically obstruct the steering gearbox assembly—as a pretext to deny federal safety recall resolution and standard warranty repair. The manufacturer is failing to provide a successful remedy for an active, critical safety hazard. Furthermore, the local franchise facility has ordered me to remove this unsafe vehicle from their property, creating a severe safety risk. I am requesting immediate NHTSA intervention to ensure the manufacturer provides a complete and effective steering rack replacement as required by federal law.

Steering was sticky, shifty and driver could not recover resulting in loss of control and impact into an electrical pole and total loss of vehicle. Manufacturer and insurance are set to inspect vehicle. Police reported driver at fault as they did not have the mechanical / technical expertise / evidence to determine cause of accident when the recall notice was brought to their attention.

The sticky steering issue has returned even after the initial recall repair. Instead of replacing the entire steering rack, they only applied a temporary fix with grease the first time. The steering wheel stickiness comes and goes, which makes it even more frustrating and unpredictable. At times, the steering wheel even locks up during turns at speeds of 45+ mph, especially on highways and ramps, which is extremely concerning and unsafe. I brought the car back to the dealership, but they were unable to replicate the issue, so no repairs were made leaving me stuck without a solution. I’ve continued driving like this, and now at nearly 65,000 miles, the problem is worse than ever. Overall, this has been a completely horrible experience. Looking back, I wish I had done more research before buying this car. Save yourself the headache.

- #11727365March 26, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
1. On multiple occasions, the adaptive cruise control has slammed the brakes at freeway speeds with no vehicles in front or next to me. The dashboard display showing vehicles in proximity indicated no new vehicles were sensed during these incidents (meaning the automatic braking was randomly triggered with no visual or audible warning). On one occasion at night, I was in the left lane of the freeway at going 75mph when this system slammed the brakes, slowing me to almost 40mph, causing the car behind me to have to swerve into the left shoulder to avoid rear-ending me. 2. The lane-keeping assistance will randomly start steering the car towards the edge of the lane. Sometimes it will actually steer the car over the lane markers, triggering the lane-departure warning, which proceeds to fight the lane-keep assist’s steering to keep the car in the lane. This will even occur after having steered the car correctly in the middle of the lane for some time. This poses a risk when the current lane is adjacent to a highway median, when there is a car in the lane next to me, or when there is no shoulder on a highway. I have had the ADAS systems on my 2023 Acura Integra recalibrated twice in the last 4 months and neither issue has improved. This is a major safety issue with Acura’s ADAS system which I have not experienced while driving multiple cars of other brands with the same feature set.

I purchased this car 2 weeks ago and noticed when I drive over 45 mph the steering wheel kind of freezes up and shakes. A warning sign pops up that say steering required and has a symbol of a steering wheel with hands on each side of it. This lasts for about 10 seconds or so, then goes away. Feels really scary like I could get into an accident. This is the first place I have reported the problem to.
