2026 Audi A6 Allroad Debuts with PHEV and Wider Body

The 2026 Audi A6 allroad is set to launch, introducing a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain for the first time and featuring a significantly wider body. Orders for the fifth-generation model will open on June 18, 2026, with vehicles expected to arrive at dealerships in fall 2026. The base price for the new A6 allroad will be 77,250 euros.

Enhanced Design and Chassis

The new 2026 Audi A6 Allroad presents a more imposing stance, with its body widened by 11 centimeters (approximately 4.3 inches) compared to the A6 Avant. This wider design is complemented by larger alloy wheels, available up to 21 inches, and distinct allroad-specific exterior elements. The vehicle's track is also notably wider, contributing to its robust appearance and improved handling.

Standard adaptive air suspension, developed specifically for this model, offers a 55-millimeter adjustment range, providing 34 millimeters more ground clearance than the A6 Avant at normal ride height. Specialized "offroad" and "offroad+" modes further increase ground clearance by 15 millimeters, enhancing capability on challenging terrain. A lift function can add an additional 20 millimeters at speeds up to 35 km/h.

The A6 allroad incorporates progressive steering for more direct feedback and improved responsiveness. All-wheel steering, standard on the PHEV and optional for the TDI, boosts maneuverability at low speeds by turning the rear wheels up to five degrees in the opposite direction. At higher speeds, the rear wheels turn up to two degrees in the same direction as the front, increasing stability.

Electrified Powertrains

For the first time, the 2026 Audi A6 Allroad will be available as a plug-in hybrid, dubbed the A6 allroad e-hybrid. This variant combines a two-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor, delivering a total system output of 270 kW (367 PS) and 500 Nm of torque. Its 25.9 kWh gross (20.7 kWh net) high-voltage battery enables an all-electric range of up to 95 kilometers (WLTP combined).

The PHEV battery can be charged with alternating current (AC) at up to 11 kW, allowing a full charge in approximately two and a half hours. It features adjustable regenerative braking and offers both EV and hybrid driving modes.

A three-liter V6 diesel engine is also available, producing 220 kW (299 PS) and 580 Nm of torque. This TDI engine utilizes MHEV plus technology, which includes a belt alternator starter and powertrain generator providing up to 18 kW (24 PS) of additional power. An electric-powered compressor ensures rapid response across all driving conditions. Both powertrain options come standard with quattro all-wheel drive.

Interior Technology and Versatility

Inside, the A6 allroad features a premium cabin centered around the Audi MMI panoramic display, which includes an 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit and a 14.5-inch touch display. An optional 10.9-inch passenger display is also available. Digital Matrix LED headlights offer eight distinct daytime running light signatures, and digital OLED rear lights 2.0 enhance road safety.

Comfort features include individual contoured seats with ventilation and massage functions, four-zone automatic air conditioning, and an air quality package. A dimmable panoramic glass roof provides options for cabin ambiance.

The 2026 Audi A6 Allroad is designed for versatility, offering adjustable rear seats and roof rails with an optional roof basket for luggage and sports equipment. The V6 TDI variant also boasts an increased trailer load capacity compared to the A6 Avant, supporting its utility for travel and outdoor activities.
