I was in B mode, slowed down to prepare to put the car in reverse to put my car in the driveway when the car surged forward unexpectedly and went up on a neighbor's curb, over their sewer cleanout pipe and tapped their car before the car stopped. I was pressing down on the brake and it wouldn't slow down until I finally pressed the pedal all the way to the ground. My 2024 S90 Recharge experienced a sudden forward surge while slowing down in 'B' mode. When I pressed the brake pedal, the vehicle completely lost braking assist, and the pedal sank all the way to the floor, requiring emergency manual pressure to stop the car. I need a full diagnostic scan of the Brake Control Module (BCM2), a check for active brake-by-wire failure codes, and immediate application of the required safety software recalls. My car has significant body damage and my neighbor has property damage. The car is currently at the dealership and a case has been opened with Volvo #XXX. We are awaiting their inspection. I believe recall 25V392, Volvo R10329 should apply but Koons Volvo dealership in [XXX] claims that my VIN was not part of the recall. No warning lamps or messages were visible. My husband and I were both in the vehicle and were shaken by this incident. We could have seriously injured someone had they been in the path of the vehicle as it surged forward over the sidewalk and onto the neighbor's lawn. Volvo is aware of a major safety issue that has to do with the drain hose of AC. They have issued a recall on models 2016 and 2017 and produced replacement parts. My car was purchased in 2017, but is a 2018. I have had the AC hose leak into my passenger compartment and cause my filter behind my glove box to be soaking wet. This has also damaged my speaker in my passenger door. I have paid over two thousand dollars.Trying to get this a c fixed with no results before finding out about the recalls. I have since found out. This leakage can prevent the passenger airbag from deploying in an accident. I have reached out to volvo directly they are denying any responsibility. I not only can not afford what could end up being over 5,000 dollars if not more to repair the AC the speaker and potentially the airbag as I am disabled. Although volvo is refusing to do the right thing, even though they know this is a problem. I have asked them what changes were made between 2016 to 2018 in the production of my vehicle. They are not responding.

TPMS system total malfunction. Wife started out of our garage for work and noticed that the vehicle wasnt driving right and fortunately stopped and back down our driveway back toward the garage. Called me out and I went around the vehicle and witnessed the right front tire was completely flat. The system had not alerted her and when I went through the menu it had a green checkmark and said all tire pressures were good. Pumped the tire up and turned vehicle around put back in garage, tire had went completely flat and still no indication from TPMS. Called dealer and was told I would have to bring it in, but I have a ruined tire and no confidence that if I fix the tire vehicle would be safe to drive the 25 miles to the dealership. The dealership had replaced the center information console and the one in front of the driver at 4000 and 7000 miles respectively because of total catastrophic failure, causing suspicion to me that there may be some cause and effect to that end. The vehicle only has 38,758 miles on it at this point. Just grateful the tire went down overnight in my garage rather than on my wifes commute home from work.

Component: Electrical / Instrument Cluster The vehicle experienced a failure of the digital instrument cluster while driving. The instrument panel intermittently malfunctioned, including going blank, freezing, or failing to display critical information such as vehicle speed, warning indicators, and system alerts. This issue occurred without warning and created a safety concern because the driver was unable to reliably monitor essential driving information. At times, the display did not function properly, which impacted the driver’s ability to safely operate the vehicle, especially while in motion. The problem was not consistent and occurred intermittently, making it difficult to anticipate or manage. Restarting the vehicle sometimes temporarily restored functionality. The instrument cluster was later identified as defective and required replacement by Volvo. The failure of this component raises safety concerns due to the loss of critical driver information while operating the vehicle.

While driving on a rainy day my forward collision warning (FCW) system cam on signifying and impending collision via the "Red Warning Vehicle Crash" in the heads-up display. The car started to automatically break as well. There were no other vehicles in my land or close to me at the time. It was purely heavy rain. This is not the first occurrence of the FCW system engaging automatically. The same situation occurs during heavy rains or if water splashes from the other land in front of the car. The situation seems similar to the Hyundai recall just issued by NHSTA https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2026/RCLRPT-26V316-9486.pdf Luckily I have avoided being rear ended as no one has been close to me or they have been able to react to the sudden unexpected deceleration of my vehicle without my intervention or desire to do so. I ask NHTSA to broaden its investigation into other vehicles as this seems to be an issue across vehicle platforms and manufacturers.
