Throttle lag. When I step on the gas pedal, there is a hesitation or lag which the truck doesn't move forward when asked. Very, very dangerous when entering traffic. Almost caused an accident. Not good. This must be addressed before someone gets hurt or killed. This is no joke and should be taken seriously. I hope this doesn't get ignored as this is a serious problem.

Toyota Corporate is refusing to acknowledge my Tundra's eligibility for remedy under a safety recall and campaign. My Tundra is experiencing the failure mode outlined in the safety recall 90M and extended safety campaign Tundra BXD. The spare tire crossmember of the frame is almost entirely rotted through with rust and is barely connected at this point. My Tundra's VIN number falls within the VIN range table's indicated in the recall and campaign documentation, and meets the criteria of currently being registered in an eligible cold-climate state. By all accounts, it should be eligible to receive remedy under this campaign. However Toyota has on multiple occasions just told me that "Safety Recalls are Service Campaigns are VIN-specific" and that VIN does not report as eligible. I've provided photo evidence of the issue and the documentation, yet Toyota refuses to acknowledge my truck's eligibility for repair under this program. Safety recalls are to prevent safety incidents from occurring due to known design or manufacturing defects. My truck is experiencing a known and documented defect. Toyota has a process for fixing it. However they're refusing to fix mine because of a mis-match in the VIN database. Safety issues don't affect "VIN numbers", they affect vehicles, the people who drive them, and others out on the roads.

- #11649956March 23, 2025EXTERIOR LIGHTING
The headlights and high beams are dim . When the high beams are on other cars oncoming are not affected as they never flash their lights because my high beams seem as though they are just headlights. Also the fact that the high beams shine like headlights, there is no option for brighter lighting which makes it hard to see far ahead. I live in a rural location off of a narrow highway with down slopes with water at the bottom on both sides of the highway where large wildlife such as deer are plentiful . Insufficient high beam lighting imposes unsafe travel conditions since the headlights are dim and the high beams are how the headlights should be leaving no option for brighter visibility. I noticed the lighting being dim years ago but I thought it was just something to do with my trucks lighting until I began searching online again for a remedy and found many other owners of the same year make and model with exactly the same issue. Therefore in conclusion perhaps is a manufacturer defect. My truck is the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned, it still runs great, I keep it well maintained and I intend to keep using it for as long as we both shall live. I am [XXX] and obviously my truck is over 20 years old and runs great, it would be terribly upsetting if an accident were to occur due to insufficient exterior lighting. I cannot remember exactly what it was I had previously contacted NHTSA regarding my truck , though the exterior lighting is of greater concern now. I noticed the dimness of the exterior lighting since I have been living in this location a lot because there are no street lights along the freeway nor highway as opposed to where I lived prior. Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to express my concerns as I appreciate your time and consideration in this matter. - #11649823March 21, 2025UNKNOWN OR OTHER
UNKNOWN:Urgent Safety Concern – Speedometer Visibility Issue in 2024 Toyota Tundra To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally raise a significant safety concern regarding the plastic speedometer cover on the 2024 Toyota Tundra. The material used for the speedometer screen is extremely prone to scratching, even under normal driving conditions. Despite using my vehicle exclusively for regular commuting, fine dust and routine cleaning have progressively worsened the visibility of the speedometer display. This issue is not just cosmetic—it is a growing safety hazard. The accumulation of scratches significantly reduces the clarity of speed readings, making it difficult to accurately monitor speed while driving. This can lead to unintended speeding, difficulty maintaining safe driving speeds, and an increased risk of accidents. Given that this problem is occurring under normal use, it is reasonable to assume that other Tundra owners will face similar issues over time, potentially leading to widespread safety concerns. I strongly urge Toyota to investigate this issue immediately and consider a recall or design modification to prevent further degradation of the speedometer visibility. Ensuring that drivers have a clear and unobstructed view of their speed is critical for road safety. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to your response. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- #11649706March 21, 2025TIRES:SIDEWALL
Tire size 265/60R20. All tires have cracked around the bead of the rim. This was discovered at 24,663 miles during regularly scheduled maintenance at Copeland Toyota in Brockton, MA on March 20, 2025. Defective manufacturing suspected. Upon further investigation of this tire model on the Internet, I discovered dozens of reports of the same sidewall failure by Toyota Tundra owners with very low mileage. I contacted Bridgestone Support on March 20, and per their instruction, took the vehicle to a Bridgestone authorized dealer (Firestone Complete Auto Care, Warren Ave. Brockton, MA) on March 21. The inspection determined that the tires have failed. The technician indicated that Bridgestone has very limited inventory of this tire model, indicative that the tire is being discontinued. I contacted Bridgestone Support on March 21, indicating that there is likely a manufacturing defect, and was advised to report this to the NHTSA, because the Bridgestone employee stated that they have no internal capability to report a potential manufacturing defect. I suspect there is a likelihood that these tires have been discontinued because of defects, but Bridgestone has not alerted customers of such a safety hazard. My Bridgestone Support reference number is [XXX]. Please investigate this as I believe there is a safety hazard due manufacturer defect.
