The contact owns a 2022 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while shifting gears on several occasions, the clutch was sticking. Additionally, while shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, the clutch was almost stuck to the floorboard. The contact placed a foot behind the clutch pedal to raise the clutch pedal manually off the floorboard. The contact stated that the brake fluid reservoir had drained; however, after adding brake fluid to the brake reservoir, the brake fluid level was low two days later. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 89,000.

After my annual Massachusetts state vehicle inspection, it was found all 4 of my Yokohama tires (195/65r-15) had serious dry rot which exceeds one inch in length. The tires came with the vehicle purchased new from my local Toyota dealer on 6/27/22

SERVICE BRAKES, POWER TRAIN, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Toyota South Atlanta in Morrow, Georgia, released my vehicle after a factory warranty repair for transmission failure. However, they failed to properly complete or verify the repair. The dashboard is now throwing critical error codes stating 'A malfunction in the electronic control of the engine, throttle, or automatic transmission has been detected' and 'A malfunction in the VSC, TRAC, or hill-start assist control system has been detected.' Additionally, their own technician documented that my front brakes FAILED. They forced me to drive away without a safety waiver, and a front brake pad has since completely fallen out in front of my home . The vehicle suffers from total mechanical transmission and brake failure.

These malfunctions are induced by a persistent server-side enterprise management policy ('DISABLED_BY_ADMIN_POLICY') applied to the connected mobile device. The resulting software-induced failures cause the vehicle's display to freeze or become unresponsive, creating a severe and unpredictable distraction to the driver while operating the vehicle. Despite documenting these incidents, the manufacturer’s support team has refused to remediate the software conflict, instead instructing the user to power down the device during operation. The interface failure persists across multiple driving sessions, presenting a continuous risk of operator distraction and loss of critical navigation/safety data.

The contact owns a 2022 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while driving at 50 MPH, the vehicle was hard to stop, and he lost control but was able to avoid a crash. The maintenance light was illuminated. Upon further research, the contact indicated the failure was related to TSB T-SB-0088-23. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine mount had cracked. The engine was hanging from the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who had repaired the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Vehicle won't move. Emergency break malfunction notification came on. Unable to get to dealership without a tow. Diagnostic completed.. Quick service provided $701.66. Two A21 Cylinder Assy, RR DI @$402.90. Two A11 Actuator assy, parking @ $2168.34 also customer paid shop charge for repair order @ $99.00. Plus tax Total $3585.52 This car is a 2022 toyota corolla hybrid. Mileage at 78,000. This on flat ground in clients driveway, and the in emergency break was not used after turned off. Was inform is that the brakes looked in very good condition, so wonder why the emergency brake malfunction notification came on with Vehicle unable to move. Why was not explained.

The "Engine Maintenance Required" signal keeps coming on when I start my vehicle and the A/C is on. It is a fault of a code for the bypass coolant valve, which is in perfect condition. I just took my vehicle for the regular maintenance over the weekend. The regular "Maintenance Required" signal went off after picking it up. After an hour or two, the "Engine" signal reappeared. This is a common issue in the Toyota's and I shouldn't have to be financially responsible for a faulty code.

I’m getting a message on my dashboard that SRS airbag system malfunction. Visit your dealer. I know there are recalls going on for this right now with American maid Toyotas, but I’m told mine isn’t because it was made in Japan. I do not have $1000 to go get this fixed. this is a safety issue because it says if in an accident, the passenger side airbag will not implode..

Hydraulic throw out bearing failed Clutch peddled stuck down to floor and when manually rotated back to resting postion it was stuck there. Clutch system stopped working during normal operation of vehicle. Suspected leaking Hydraulic throwing out bearing. Safety was put at risk by having the functionality of the clutch system completely lost during normal operation of vehicle. Leaving car stranded. Problem has not yet been diognosed by dealer. No warning lamps

On April 22, 2026, I was involved in a significant collision while driving my Toyota Corolla 2022. The impact was severe enough that the other vehicle involved deployed its airbags. However, despite the force of the crash, the airbags in my vehicle did not deploy. I am extremely concerned that the airbag system may have failed to function as designed. The component that failed is the coolant bypass valve, which is part of the engine cooling system. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The issue was first indicated by an "Engine Maintenance Required" warning message that appeared on the dashboard. No prior symptoms were noticeable before the warning appeared. The warning came on suddenly during normal driving conditions. This failure poses a potential safety risk because the coolant bypass valve regulates engine temperature. If it malfunctions, it may lead to improper engine cooling, overheating, reduced engine performance, or sudden breakdown while driving. This could increase the risk of being stranded in traffic or experiencing a hazardous situation on the road. The problem has been diagnosed and confirmed by an authorized Toyota dealership, which identified the coolant bypass valve as failed and in need of replacement. The dealership provided a repair estimate of $775 prior to taxes and fees. The manager shared that it would be around $890+ after it is all calculated. The vehicle has not been involved in any accident related to this issue, but the malfunction was verified through dealer inspection. No police or insurance reports were filed, as this was a mechanical failure. Based on personal research, this appears to be a widespread issue affecting similar Toyota vehicles, including other Corollas and RAV4 models, where the same component has failed under similar conditions. In some cases, repairs have been covered by the manufacturer, indicating awareness of the issue. There are many groups on Facebook and Reddit where customers with the same make and model 2022 Toyota Corolla SE have had the same issue after 3 years of having the vehicle. In summary, while driving under normal conditions, the warning message appeared without prior indication. The dealership later confirmed that the coolant bypass valve had failed and required replacement.

Internal short within headlamp assembly causing the fuse to blow. Unrepairable, requires full replacement of part. Confirmed by MyAutoImports licensed Toyota repair center. Passenger side day running light, headlight, and brights are inoperative. Turn signal and front right indication light are still functioning. No warning prior to, but system warning came up after the short first occurred telling me to take into a dealer asap.

Hello, on October 14th 2024 I reached out to Toyota over a “engine maintenance required” message on my dash along with a check engine light. I took it to the local toyota dealership in Downey CA. After testing the Engine coolant bypass valve B Control circuit high failed. Toyota replaced the valve on October 21st 2024. Issuing me a 1year/12,000 mile warranty. On Thursday January 15th 2026 the drive start control malfunction warning light along with a P26AE error code displayed. Upon testing the engine coolant bypass valve B control circuit high failed again. Speaking with Toyota my vehicle VIN is not part of the CSP service campaign they have for 19-23 Corolla models. I spoke with Toyota Corporate and they couldn’t/wouldn’t help. This is a severe safety risk as the valve failed at a moments notice with no warning or symptoms. Additionally it can lead to engine stall and catastrophic damage, risking other drivers if engine loses power. This is an ongoing and recurring issue with RAV4/Corolla/Cross models and Toyota is facing a lawsuit here in California from other drivers with the same problem. I would like for my VIN to be added to the safety recall as Toyota Knowingly replaced the Valve with the same defective part per the technician who fixed my vehicle the first time who warned me this was going to happen again. The contact was assisted by a bystander with the failure. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was diagnosed with a slave cylinder failure. The slave cylinder was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

Vehicle information: - Make/Model: 2022 Toyota Corolla - In-service date: 08/18/2022 My vehicle sustained significant wiring damage caused by rodents. Toyota has denied warranty and financial assistance, characterizing the issue as an “outside influence.” However, according to what I read online, modern vehicles —including Toyota models—use soy-based or bio-based wiring insulation, which is widely documented to attract rodents. The damage affected critical electrical wiring, creating potential safety hazards including loss of vehicle function and increased fire risk. This is not merely cosmetic damage but impacts essential vehicle systems. The foreseeability of rodent attraction due to wiring materials raises concerns of a design-related safety defect and failure to adequately warn consumers. Toyota has stated there are no recalls or customer support programs addressing this issue, despite recurring reports from vehicle owners nationwide.
