CVT Transmissions on these versa’s are extremely wonky and very jerky. The transmission causes extremely slow acceleration, Nissan has had a really bad track record with their CVT transmissions and it appears to be the same issue with this vehicle as well.

i have a recall for airbag, i made appointment with dealership. on August 16 2023, went to the appointment and it took 4h to replace and they gave me a report that its been fixed, they replaced both driver and passenger side airbag, and the airbag light is off (attached picture of report) when i took the car i noticed the airbag light is still on. i went back and told them the issue and they retook the car for inspection. i waited another 1h and they brought me an invoice that there is a cable from airbag to the car, this needs to be replaced and it cost 400$ without tax and without labor. my complain is that they pretended to replace and fix the airbag and they made sure there is no light on. upon taking the car i noticed it wasn't true. now they demand money for repair. i believe the dealership is not going to remedy the recall without charging

The car is constantly jerking and losing power. The car has been towed for not responding after acceleration. Mechanic has told me it is the transmission. Car only has roughly 86k miles on it. Not safe to drive at all.

For ten days my car suddenly loses 90% or more braking power—after moving at above 40 miles per hour for five minutes or more. Incredibly dangerous and no war I g lights and hard to diagnose. We are replacing master cylinder as they were investigated on this year and model. I want them to reopen that investigation and I want compensation.

The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that when the brake pedal was depressed and the turning signals were activated, the vehicle felt as if the transmission had improperly shifted. While driving 40 MPH, the vehicle failed to exceed 40 MPH. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that the brake pedal, motherboard, and taillight assembly had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 30,500.

Car stalls, I’ve contacted Nissan regarding electrical issues with ignition how it’s not reading the ecu. Another things is the recalls that comes up. Here it is Recall #19V654000 BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA Defect Description: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Nissan Altima, Armada, Frontier, Kicks, Leaf, Maxima, Murano, NV, NV200, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Sentra, Titan, Titan Diesel, Versa Note and Versa Sedan vehicles, as well as Infiniti Q50, Q60, QX30 and QX80 vehicles. Additionally included are 2019 Nissan GT-R and Taxi and Infiniti QX50, QX60, Q70, Q7OL vehicles. The back-up camera and display settings can be adjusted such that the rear view image is no longer visible and the system will retain that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility." Defect Consequence: The lack of an image in the back-up camera display increases the risk of a crash. Defect Corrective Action: Nissan will notify owners in phases, having dealers update the back-up camera settings software, free of charge. The recall began November 11, 2019 and all affected VINs should be activated. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 or INFINITI customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Recall #18V551000 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION Defect Description: Nissan North America, Inc. In these models, over time, the weight on the key ring and road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position to the accessory position, turning off the engine. My car stalled while backing up in heavy gravel. I started out and did not notice that my car was not accelerating. I pulled out into a 65 mph road and began shifting and realized my car was not accelerating. It was a road where pulling over was dangerous. I found an area and turn the car off. I restarted (fixed it when 1st occurrence happened). Got back on the road and again my car was not accelerating above 25-30 mph. Pulled out off the road shut the car off and waited 2-3 minutes and again restarted and the car resumed working properly. This was extremely dangerous due to the road not having safe pull outs. This is the second time this has occurred in my new car.

I have a 2020 Nissan and I purchased it in 2021 with 80 miles and its 2023 and the engine is now bad. You mean to tell me that you pay 19000 for a car that’s going to mess up in less than 2 years

On 7-25-23, my wife and I were riding in our 2011 Nissan Versa locally and noticed a banging noise coming from the front end of the car, especially when hitting bumps or uneven payment. When we parked the car at home, I noticed a small piece of metal shaped like a coil spring on the road where we usually park. I phoned our mechanic at Ryan Automotive Goodyear in Moon Twp and asked him if he had time today to see where the banging noise was coming from. We arrived at Ryan Automotive around 3pm. Our mechanic [XXX] said that the front coil spring has broken and the top engine mount needs to be replaced as well. There was a recall on the front coil springs back in 2015 that I had done at West Hills Nissan in Moon Twp, which was sold to #1 Cochran Nissan. Cochran Nissan has no record of my car being serviced at West Hills Nissan along with the recall work. I am wondering if West Hills Nissan ever replaced the coil springs or did they use the recalled coil springs for the replacement. I am trying to find out if the front coil spring recall can still be honored at a local Nissan Dealer. When I searched for official Nissan recall centers near me, #1 Cochran Nissan does not come up. As you know, a broken coil spring can easily fall below the strut and slice the sidewall on your tire in the blink of an eye, especially on the highway. This is a dangerous situation, so I would like to get the recall on the front coil springs done at a local Nissan dealer, otherwise I will consider trading the car in toward a newer car. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] mobile and [XXX] . [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Since buying car used last summer ive have numerous scares for the car stalling jerking and shutting off while driving or slowing down and taking off. I drove over train tracks on my way home and the car jerked stalled and died luckily i made it over the tracks and there was no train. Had a mechanic look at it and said the Cvt transmission more than likely blame for this problem. After researching more this particular make model and year had numerous of the same complaints and saftey is my main concern here. Thanks

I had stalled my car and after I restarted it my car had a significant loss of power. I shifted and car would not accelerate at all top speed was 25-30 mph. I had my gas pedal depressed and no change in speed/ I limped to a dealership turned car off and restarted and car was back to normal. This vehicle was 2 days from purchase and less than 500 miles on it. I reported to dealer and was never called back for instructions on how to proceed

The car lost power and would not go over 40 MPH. This made for a dangerous situation on the road. P2615-00 A Crankshaft Position Sensor code was thrown, but when I took it to the dealer they could not replicate the problem. I have video documentation of the problem I can provide. Since I posted my video, several other people have come forward with the same issue. It seems as if when the manual transmission version of this car is stalled or fails to start, it will throw this code and severely reduce the power. It seems to be a simple software issue, but so far all the Nissan dealers who have looked at these cars have not been able to provide a fix. This problem apparently affects all 2022-2023 Versas with the manual transmission. The problem is likely they did not properly code for the removal of the push to start button. The first incident, my car shut off as I was driving down the road. I had to put it in park in the middle of the road, start the car, and floor it to get there car to go. The second incident was after I took it in to Nissan. They said it was fixed, and two days after I picked it up, the car shut off on me as I was leaving a gas station, and the check engine light is back on.

The car was having slow acceleration, horrid loud noises for awhile but no issues were found during checks but parts were replaced to try and troubleshoot but the sound and idle and running issues still persisted. The first sign of severe major issue was when the car was started it jolted forward while still in park in a first start up. Turned off the car and restarted it and it repeated the same action and then I put the car into reverse but it wouldn't reverse. Took the car to my local Firestone and they said it had an internal transmission problem and I should take it back to the dealership. Within the month I went to the dealership in person and explained the issue and they said there wasn't a recall or service call for my car. That I'd have to pay for repairs and my car wasn't under warranty since the extra service plan I purchased already ran out. While coming home from work my car started to shudder and jolt and wasn't accelerating properly. I stopped at a gas station to see if the car smelled odd and to refuel. It started up but repeated jolting shudder and less than a mile down the road the car suddenly slowed by itself and stopped accelerating. I had to hook slide to the side of the road. I put the car in park and accelerated the engine responded. So I turned off the car and restarted put it in drive after multiple tries I got it to finally accelerate. Less than half a mile down the road as the car was going downhill the car started to shutter jolt again before coming to a complete stop at a light. No matter how long I waited it would not drive but would only reverse at that point. I had to contact family to help me push the car to the roadside and called a tow. The car currently sits in the driveway will start up and reverse but when attempting to accelerate sometimes it might drive for a few minutes before refusing to accelerate. I have the 2010 Nissan Versa SL hatchback with the CVT Xtronic transmission.
