1. On XXX (clear ), while parking a Hertz rental Nissan Rogue at a hotel parking lot in [XXX], the vehicle suddenly and violently accelerated forward without warning. Brake pedal application was ineffective. The vehicle jumped a stone barrier and sustained damage. I was terrified and sustained minor injuries. 2. This vehicle is equipped with the KR15DDT engine, which is the subject of NHTSA recall 26V081/26V080 for electronic throttle body gear fracture. The reported failure mode—low‑speed unintended acceleration and loss of braking—matches my experience exactly. The primary suspected failure is the electronic throttle body (ETC) and/or engine control system, as the engine produced uncontrolled power despite my foot on the brake. The braking system also failed to respond. 3. Although this vehicle's VIN is not currently listed under an open recall, known serious safety defects within the same engine family cannot be ruled out. Prior to renting this vehicle to us Hertz did not provide any evidence that they performed (PDI) or any other safety checks to ensure the vehicle was free from hazardous conditions. They also never informed us of any potential risks associated with this engine. I have repeatedly requested damage reports and itemized repair bills from Hertz, but they have consistently refused to provide any such documentation. Requests : 1. Include this vehicle in the ongoing defect investigation of KR15DDT engines to prevent further safety risks to drivers and the public. 2. Subpoena Hertz’s complete maintenance and service records for this vehicle to determine whether it was properly repaired and compliant with safety standards before being rented out. 3. Obtain the official damage assessment and repair documentation to establish the true cause of this incident—a routine parking maneuver that unexpectedly turned into a dangerous crash. We don't want anyone else to encounter similar safety incidents. Please contact me via email. Tks INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION A

1 Unknown. I suspect a malfunction involving the electronic gear-selection/shift-control system or transmission control system. I personally placed the vehicle in Park while the engine was running. After I exited the vehicle and was away from it, the vehicle moved on its own. When I returned after hearing the impact, the gear selector was no longer in Park and was in another position. The vehicle and relevant electronic systems are available for inspection. 2 The vehicle was parked on a steep hill. I had personally placed the vehicle in Park and exited it with my daughter. While I was inside my home, the vehicle moved without my knowledge or intentional input and struck my garage. The vehicle was running and was my spouse was still in the car when the movement occurred. The unexpected movement created a risk of the vehicle striking a person, entering a roadway, or causing a more serious crash or injury. 3 No. The incident has not yet been independently reproduced or confirmed. The vehicle needs to be inspected to determine why it moved after I placed it in Park. 4 No not yet 5 No known warning lamps, messages, or symptoms occurred before the incident. The vehicle appeared to be operating normally. I had no warning that it would leave Park or move

The contact owns a 2026 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that after entering the vehicle and looking back to reverse, the contact became aware that the hatch glass had shattered. The shattered glass fell inside the trunk. There was no object found inside the trunk of the vehicle to indicate that an object had struck the glass. The dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and the contact was advised to file a claim with the insurance company. The failure mileage was approximately 1,300.

My 2026 Nissan Rogue SV engine suffered catastrophic engine failure of no. 3 cylinder. Resulted in total loss of engine coolant, damage to the engine block, no. 3 cylinder and related parts, and additional damage to catalytic converter and turbocharger. Nissan replaced the entire engine block (long block), associated turbo, cat. converter, and one-time necessary connections. My only indications were ‘engine overheat’, ‘malfunctions’, and the car not able to change cvt gears, eventually turning off just as I was coming up to speed on the on-ramp to freeway. There were no previous or repeated warnings prior to event. Car was towed to Future Nissan of Roseville, which performed all inspections and repairs.

The vehicle was completely stationary at a red light when the rear windshield suddenly and spontaneously exploded with a loud gunshot-like sound. There was no road debris, no preceding or surrounding vehicles, and absolutely no external impact. The Nissan dealership wrongfully refused to cover this under the new vehicle limited warranty, claiming it was external damage, despite the lack of any impact point. Due to safety urgency, I had to replace the glass through a third-party shop via my auto insurance. This is a severe product quality and safety defect regarding the rear defroster and tempered glass, which is already subject to federal class-action lawsuits for Nissan Rogues. The glass shards could have caused severe injuries.

My car was sitting in a parking lot facing the south. It was over 100 degrees that day. I had a front window shade in the front window, and both front windows were down about 2 inches. I went to my car to grab something around 1:30pm and all was fine. When I cam back around 2:45 pm, the back window was shattered, with small pieces of glass laying on the ground. I called the local Nissan dealer, and they told me to bring it in so they could look at it. I taped it up and drove it to the dealer. They looked it over and could see that the glass had blown out. The mechanic that looked it over, said that based on the glass pressing out and not inward (rock or something hitting it, makes the glass press inward). The dealership put in a warranty claim on Friday and finally found out it was approved on Tuesday. The mechanic ordered the glass to be shipped overnight on Friday. 10 days later I hadn't heard anything from them, so I called them, and they didnt have the glass yet, and didnt know why. So they called Nissan to figure why, and were told, they have the glass on hand, but not enough to ship any out yet. So its been 12 days and I still cant drive my car.

On June 19, 2026, while driving my 2026 Nissan Rogue SV at approximately highway speed, my vehicle suddenly lost power without warning. This created a serious safety hazard because I was traveling with surrounding traffic and unexpectedly lost the ability to accelerate normally. I was able to safely pull the vehicle to the side of the road, and it had to be towed to Nissan of White Plains. The dealership diagnosed the vehicle with a catastrophic engine failure and informed me that the engine requires complete replacement. At the time of the failure, the vehicle had approximately 7,000 miles and was nearly new. Prior to the incident, I did not experience any warning signs that would have indicated an imminent engine failure. The engine failure has been confirmed by the authorized Nissan dealership, and the vehicle has remained out of service since June 19, 2026, while awaiting repairs. Nissan has provided a loaner vehicle, but my new vehicle has been unavailable for approximately 30 days. I am submitting this complaint because a sudden loss of engine power on a highway presents a significant safety risk to the driver, passengers, and surrounding motorists. I believe this failure warrants investigation to determine whether other vehicles may be affected.

Less than 24 hours after the transmission issue was fixed, I was driving down the interstate with my speedometer registering 147 MPH. I immediately took the vehicle back to the dealership. While the vehicle was in "Park", the speedometer was reading 80 MPH. Technicians were unable to replicate the problem, and I'm stuck with a vehicle that I'm not sure registers an accurate speed.

While Driving on I-10 I drove threw a small dust devil doing 78 mph and the drivers side trim next to the window flew off. There were other vehicles behind me and beside me. I did notice the cars behind me slowed down. There was no waring before hand. no sound, no movement, nothing. The Vehicle was just under 6,000 miles. I took it to Las Cruces Nissan. Ordered the part. The parts guy informed me this has happened to other drivers in the past and the part is on back order.

On May 11, 2026, I was driving on Interstate XXX from [XXX] to [XXX] . Throughout the drive, I had difficulty getting my vehicle to 45 and staying there. At the [XXX] exit (roughly halfway to my destination), my check engine light came on with a message, "CVT malfunction Service Now". On May 12, 2026, I took my vehicle to Loyalty Nissan for diagnostic testing and repair. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- #11734081April 27, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
I have a 2026 Nissan Rogue Platinum with Pro Pilot assist. When engaging the ProPilot cruise control with adaptive cruise control, if you are traveling on a road with stop lights and the car in front of you is stopped at a light and you car is traveling at 45 mph , if the vehicle at the light is more than a block away and you are approaching with no car icon on the dash, your car will not slow down until there is a emergency panic stop. I don't know if the car would stop in time. I applied brakes and came to a panic sideways stop inches from the car in front of me. I took my car to Woodbury Nissan and was told that that is the way the system is designed to work by [XXX] a service writer. He didn't want to discuss it further. I called the manage and he had me come in and have one of the service managers drive my vehicle. When he drove it and the car did not slow down, he had to hit the brakes. You could tell he was scared by the experience. They agreed to bring it in and test it but I knew they would do nothing. They told me there were no adjustments to ProPilot assist. Then I brought it in and left it. They called me back a few hours later and told me that they drove another Rogue and it did the same thing. They couldn't do anything for mr. I had a 2025 Hyundai SanteFe with adaptive cruise control. It did not stop like the Rogue. It slowed down when approaching the stopped vehicle before coming to a stop. If nothing is done to warn ProPilot owners of this issue, someone is going to get killed. If a car is cruising down the [XXX] and come up to one of those lights on the southern end the will never stop in time. Please let people know before people lose their lives in these vehicles. Thank you. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Vehicle Information • Make/Model: Nissan Rogue (2026) - purchased as a lease in August 2025 • Mileage: 7,810 • VIN: [XXX] • Date of incident: 4/20/26 • Location: Highway travel (Pennsylvania) Engine stall / sudden loss of power while driving While driving my brand new 2026 Nissan Rogue at approximately 75 mph on a highway, the vehicle suddenly and completely stalled without warning. The engine lost all power while the vehicle was in motion, resulting in an immediate and dangerous reduction in speed. There were no prior signs of malfunction before the stall. The vehicle became unable to maintain highway speed and effectively lost propulsion while in active traffic conditions. This created a serious safety hazard, as the sudden loss of power at highway speed placed me and surrounding vehicles at risk of a collision. I had to maneuver the vehicle to safety while attempting to avoid traffic. The vehicle is brand new and should not experience a complete engine stall under normal highway driving conditions. This incident raises a significant concern regarding a potential defect in engine performance, fuel delivery, transmission control, or electronic power management systems. Because the failure occurred at highway speed without warning, it represents a critical safety risk that may affect other drivers if it is a systemic issue. Actions Taken After Incident • Vehicle was brought to dealership / service center • Case opened with manufacturer (Nissan) • The vehicle was towed and currently getting the engine replaced I am requesting that NHTSA: 1. Review this incident as a potential safety defect 2. Determine whether similar complaints exist for this model/year 3. Investigate whether this issue warrants a safety recall or manufacturer investigation 4. Ensure appropriate corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence I am reporting this to ensure it is documented and reviewed as part of national safety monitoring. - #11732846April 21, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The vehicle reads the speed limit signs improperly and the adaptive cruise control will speed up the vehicle to the improper speed limit. For instance it is 45 mph on SR 70 in TN and the vehicle will read the speed limit as 70 mph and take off up to 70 mph on it's own. Very dangerous. Took it to 2 dealers and they are unable to fix the problem.

- #11729620April 7, 2026ENGINE, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, SERVICE BRAKES
I am reporting a recurring safety issue with the vehicle’s auto engine stop/start system. When the vehicle comes to a stop, the engine sometimes shuts off normally (other time only the auto-brakes engage, but engine stays on), but then the system behaves unpredictably. The engine attempts to restart with a violent jolt, causing the entire vehicle to shake. This occurs even when I am fully stopped with my foot on the brake. It feels like the vehicle is trying to lurch forward or restart against resistance. The issue is repeatable, happens in normal driving conditions, and creates a safety concern because the sudden jolt can startle the driver, cause unintended movement, or lead to loss of control in traffic. I believe this may indicate a defect in the auto‑engine‑stop system, engine mounts, starter system, or related control modules. Please investigate, as other owners may be experiencing the same unsafe behavior.
