[XXX] my car i just bought and financed was damaged. Carfax shows incident in Waco Tx. I financed my car 07/2024. Went and had my oil and tire rotation and found out my front Sub Frame is cracked and bent. This was never reported to carfax Jenkin Nissan found the problem.. FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
On a clear sunny day, while driving around 40 mph with no traffic in front or behind me my Automatic Emergency Braking activated for a instant and then released. If I had been in traffic such as driving through Dallas at 70 mph or more, I might have been rear ended. It scared me. I can imagine what a car behind me would have done with the car in front hitting their break for no reason. There was no warning.

SEAT BELTS
The seat belt connection is located so far down in the seat cushion that it is almost impossible to fasten, and it is especially difficult if you are trying to fasten in a child seat. The design is a safety problem. The seat belts I am referring to are on the back seat.

On Thanksgiving, the rear door of our vehicle closed unexpectedly on my back while I was loading food and gifts. It seemed stuck; I had to lift it manually to reset it. It then resumed working normally. However, recently, it fell on my husband’s head while he was unloading groceries. He has a history of concussions, and I am very concerned about the safety risk this malfunction poses. Please investigate this issue and advise on any recalls or necessary actions.

The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the emergency brake system would inadvertently apply with no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was informed by the dealer that the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

The contact noticed a failure with the battery had been drained, and the contact was able to charge the battery. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was not diagnosed or repaired. Key FOB and door lock/unlock function failure. Driver side rear door is locked and cannot be unlocked with FOB or manually. In an emergency a passenger in that seat position could be in a life threatening situation. Problem noted on 07/07/2024 (Sunday) and has not been reported to dealership yet. No one has inspected vehicle as of 07/07/2024. There had been one incident a few days previous where driver door would not unlock via FOB or from front passenger lock switch. Door was finally opened by passenger reaching across and hitting door switch on driver side. No warning lamps noted during these events.

The ignition switch (push start button) stopped working. At the time, the key fob batteries were new. The key fobs were still working - the lock/unlock worked, the trunk release worked, and the remote start even worked. The 'trick' of holding the tip of the key fob to the start button did not start the car. This is a safety hazard because my car will not start. Luckily I was at home, but I could have been stranded somewhere. My car is currently at a Nissan dealership. I was hoping that the computer codes just needed to be reset. However, they are telling me the Body Control Module needs to be replaced. I would like the BCM investigated by the NHTSA. Previous years of the Nissan Rogue have had BCM issues. My particular car has not been in any circumstance that would make the BCM go bad - it's only four years old and has not been exposed to flood or extreme heat/cold. The 'key battery low' light came on the dash a couple weeks prior. I had just replaced the key fob battery in both fobs the day before the start button issue. The car is currently at: Cochran Nissan South Hills 3200 W. Liberty Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15216 412-245-4540 I have not yet authorized repairs.

Driver's seat is clicking and moving the driver back and forth in place while in operation. Also, The seat clicks upon stop and go acceleration, when weight is shifted and/or car breaks for a stop. On May 17, 2024 my 2020 Nissan Rogue malfunctioned after the ignition button was pressed to start the car, and burst into flames. 1.What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Unknown but fire began in the upper left quadrant area of engine. 2.How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? It was a fire with the potential to cause an explosion. 3.Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center?No. 4.Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Car inspected by insurance. Manufacturer was notified. 5.Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Once the ignition button was pressed a barrage of warning lights came on including: brake failure, headlight failure, chassis control failure. The smell of smoke was detectable immediately.

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle had experienced "Phantom Braking" causing the braking system to erroneously activate and the vehicle to abruptly stop. During the failure the Forward Collision Avoidance system malfunction message was displayed. Additionally, while driving at night, the high beam headlights failed to automatically activate as designed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 133,321.

I was driving at around 20 mph when the AEB warning light came on, a MALFUNCTION light came on, and the vehicle brakes locked up. I put the vehicle into neutral and shut it off. I then started it back up. The MALFUNCTION light was still on, the AEB warning light was still on. I was able to put it in drive and move it. I'm terrified if this happens again especially if I am on the highway when it happens. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they said they don't know why it happened and can't explain the warning lights.

The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, a 2006 Harley Davidson Dyna Glide Custom motorcycle crossed the center line and crashed head-on into her vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The driver-side skirt air bag was deployed. The driver sustained concussions, burns, shoulder, a back pain, and bruises. The front passenger was her son who sustained bruises from his shoulder to his buttocks and has PTSD and anxiety. The rear passenger, her daughter, sustained bruises to her body and has anxiety and PTSD. All three occupants were provided medical attention. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. A police report was filed. There was no reported fire. The unknown local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000. The VIN was not available.
