The rear brakes are failing at unusually low miles with no indicator on the dashboard that they needed service. Basically we just started hearing a grinding noise. The Nissan dealer says this is normal for that vehicle, but I have never seen brakes begin to fail this soon under normal driving conditions and no indicators.

- #11690209September 28, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
The collision warning deactivated the vehicles cruise control and slowed the vehilce down at highway speeds. Traveling at 80mph speed limit and cruise disengaged and as a result the traffic to the rear of the vehicle came very close. There were two vehicles behind my vehicle and it was too close for comfort. The event occurred in North Dakota on Interstate with no forward traffic.

The drivers seat does not have enough padding. I was driving in New Jersey on the thruway and because the seat does not have enough cushion I tried to adjust myself and that caused me to go into other lane. Luckily no accident but this is definitely a safety issue. I do have pictures to show of the condition of the seat.

- #11689818September 26, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
A malfunction warning light appeared on the dashboard, indicating the cruise control was no longer working and front crash indicator lights showed sensors were not working and/or turned off due to the malfunction. I believe my emergency breaking Blindspot warning, adaptive cruise control are not working at this time. The malfunction light is inconsistent and may go off and on. Town Center Nissan was able to duplicate the issue but had no fix available on 9/25/25. They agreed to communicate with the manufacturer and get back to me in a few days. They did not caution me regarding driving the vehicle and returned the keys after connecting to the Nissan diagnostic computer which pulled codes stating a front crash sensor malfunction. They stated their database included 5 other similar Nissan vehicles with similar issues.

The contact owned a 2025 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the ABS warning light had illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the ABS system needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact believed that the ABS system was not calibrated due to the ABS warning light re-illuminated. On another occasion, the contact stated that while driving approximately 70 - 75 MPH, a vehicle in the middle lane switched to the last left lane, and the contact maneuvered the vehicle to the middle lane due to the collision avoidance alarm activating. The tires spun out of control, and the front brakes failed and locked. The vehicle skidded and crashed head-on into a semi truck. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed and deemed totaled. The contact sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI), and medical attention was required. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

I was informed of a need to replace worn rear brake pads and rotors due to excessive wear after just over 19,000 miles. Being treated as a wear item despite the fact that the issue is common and known by the manufacturer as an issue. After almost 3 years no recall has been done. Thankfully this was caught prior to the brakes entering a failing state.

For the past couple of months we noticed the car is swaying to one side when it accelerates. We took the car for an alignment and the problem persists. The car is now swaying aggressively to one side when driving at higher speeds. This occurs while driving in the highways. We have to be extra cautious because it can hit another car driving in the next lane. We took the car to the Weston AutoNation dealer repairs and they informed the car needs to repair tie rods and control arms. The car has never been in an accident. The car has less than 35,000 miles.

Mold & Mildew smell is coming from air vents every time vehicle starts. Bommarito Nissan of hazelwood first said they smelled something when we brought it in. But they said we must’ve spilled a drink and suggested we clean our carpets. We knew that wasn’t true but we had it professionally cleaned and aired out. The dealership also replaced both filters and cleaned the evaporator. The smell didn’t go away so we brought it back. Now they’re just saying they “don’t smell anything out of the ordinary..” This is a certified vehicle, like new.. We’re very concerned for our health and safety. And the dealership isn’t going to help.

Vehicle Information •Make: Nissan •Model: Pathfinder •Year: 2025 •Mileage at Incident: Less than 2,800 miles •Purchase Date: May 2025 Summary of Problem: Since purchase, the vehicle has had repeated brake failures, unintended acceleration, lighting malfunctions, and electronic system defects. Problems are intermittent but worsening, creating a serious safety risk. Details of Incidents: 1.Steering / Handling: •Since day one, steering feels loose and “floating” at highway speeds. 2.Parking Assist & Braking: •Parking assist randomly activates upon startup with all sensors lit and beeping, requiring a restart to clear. •In garage, parking assist sometimes locks brakes, then suddenly accelerates toward wall. 3.Braking / Acceleration Failures (Sept. 3-4 2025): •While driving brakes did not slow vehicle despite increased pedal pressure; required slamming pedal to lock brakes. •On highway 65–70 mph, while pressing brake to slow for exit, vehicle accelerated past 73 mph before decelerating. 4. Lighting Failure: •Twice, headlights failed to activate in Auto mode. First incident resulted in driver being pulled over; restarting car restored lights. Second incident at dusk—only high beams worked; no low beams despite Auto mode being on. 5. Other Electrical / Mechanical Defects: •Passenger mirror sometimes stuck in folded position; driver mirror opens slowly. •Front windows occasionally fail to open/close or move very slowly. •Apple CarPlay forces return to CarPlay screen, won’t allow switching to other apps; defaults to AM/FM radio at startup.•Clicking sound from dashboard when AC is running. •AC intermittently blows hot air instead of cold.•Auto start/stop feature reactivates itself after being manually turned off. •Vehicle shakes noticeably when idling or starting, worsening. Frequency: since vehicle purchase in May 2025. Braking/acceleration failures happened multiple times. Safety Risk: Loss of braking, unintended acceleration, &lighting failures present a serious risk.

Incident 1: Rear brakes needing replaced within 30,000 miles. Rear brakes at that mileage is unheard of. Incident 2: Coil packs failing and leaving me stranded. 34,000 miles Incident 3: Most recent at 44,000 the flex plate is now broken. With a simple internet search the flex plate is a reoccurring issue that a lot of motorist are experiencing.

I have had my 2025 pathfinder act up over the last two months. It acts up at the most inconvenient time. I have notice that it kicks into low gear when I am pulling out into traffic. It will not disengage at all during this time. The only way that I can get out of low gear, is to pull over and stop, turn off the engine and then turn it back on. After turning off the engine and restarting it goes back to driving normal. This has happen on and off over the past two months. It has been reported to Clark Nissan in Abilene, Texas. They have not been able to have the problem appear and no engine faults are showing. I am now driving the car and if it happens again hope to video what is happening. Twice this has happen pulling into the [XXX] and have had cars come close to colliding into the back of my car. It this time I am working with the dealership and will try to record this when it happens again. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- #11682897August 25, 2025SERVICE BRAKES, EXTERIOR LIGHTING
If you have your light set in another position other than auto set, your break lights do not com on. I was getting ready to travel on a trip to Georgia from Texas. I pulled into a gas station when a lady pulled up beside me and said that your break lights are not working. Sure enough they were not working! After a while of checking the different lighting setting we found that the break lights only work in the automatic mode. This was reported to Clark Nissan at Abilene, Texas. They reported that they have found this to be true and found all of the Nissan cars in their lot worked like this. I was advise that they were reporting this to their head office. In the mean time for me to keep the switch in Auto setting. (Break lights should never be disengaged).

- #11682023August 20, 2025SEAT BELTS, SEATS
The seatbelt system, including the computerized imaging alerts on the dashboard, seatbelt warning tone notification, and possibly the seat sensors of the vehicle have been failing and continue to malfunction. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This malfunction alerts and states that passengers are not buckled in the backseats when nobody is in the vehicle but the driver. This malfunction also alerts and states that passengers are not buckled in the backseats when they are this malfunction occurs randomly while driving the vehicle. It was initially brought in for this concern the first week of August 2025 and the local Nissan service techs replaced the seatbelts in 2 of the back seats. Unfortunately, this did not resolve this issue and has been documented with video evidence on multiple occasions. My children are frequent passengers in the backseats of this vehicle and I have safety concerns that should an accident occur, the seatbelts malfunction and are not actually keeping my children safe as expected with a seatbelt. The most recent visit to Nissan services for this problem was on 08/18/2025 to 08/20/2025 where the techs stated the problem could not be reproduced and that all I can continue to do is keep driving the vehicle and take videos of the incidents. Using a phone while driving sounds like a safety concern to me, as well. The vehicle has only been seen, with multiple appointments, at the local Halliday Nissan Service Department. Prior to the original problem the first week of August 2025, these issues first appeared around the end of June, early July 2025. There are warning lamps, signals, and notification noises associated with this issue. I have video documentation, service documentation, recordings, text messages, voicemails as proof of documentation.

The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the engine revved up to 2,000 RPMs. The contact stated that the failure had also occurred upon releasing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that the RPMs would increase, and the vehicle would accelerate unintendedly. No warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to two dealers and was advised by both dealers that the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact back to the dealers. The failure mileage was approximately 14,700.

I have 44K miles and had to replace my rear brakes 4 times. I paid for them twice and Nissan covered the cost the first time when they ran out at 7K miles and the last time the replaced the rear brakes and rotors. There is something seriously wrong with the rear brake being undersized. I had a 2015 Pathfinder and on average got 41K per brake set.

5x my Suv in drive popped either out of gear or just would not shift into the next gear. My main concern is i was coming up a hill into a 4 land highway (route 6 and my car would not shift the transmission was whining loud?. I had to shut my car off in the middle of 4 lanes with oncoming traffic to put it in park to get it to shift back into drive to get out of harms way. This happened 4 more times where I had to just stop where i was to put car in park and try it again in drive, which usually fixes it except for 1x would not take off at all. When whines its almost as if the car transmission would blow. No one can recreate this issue so i am stuck with the car that does it randomly. Example bought it new Feb 2025 it is now August & happened 5 times. Hoping they do a recall or sometype of fix I do like my Suv & would like to keep it.

The vehicle has just under 20,000 miles and when reversing is getting a high pitched squeak. There are a ton of online forums where other owners of a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder are stating they're being told that the rear brake pads are literally worn down to metal while the front brakes are perfectly fine. This is clearly a defect of some sort where the brake system should not be malfunctioning like this.
