While traveling on the highway, as I accelerated, my vehicle began to shutter as if it was about to stall. Then the D on the display panel began flashing and a message concerning the transmission was displayed. As I increased my speed the more the car shuttered. I researched and found that this has been an issue with this make and model of this vehicle. After calling a Mitsubishi dealership, I was informed that my vehicle has had this problem fixed. They require a couple hundred dollars to look at it but it sounds like they have already made up their mind that it is not under recall.

The sunroof on our vehicle, self exploded while driving. There was a loud bang, and then we were covered in sunroof glass shards. The fine dust of the sunroof glass went into my right eye which created minor eye irritation. I was able to pull over. Flush out my eye with water and then proceeded to remove the pieces of glass from the sunroof area because I was afraid the pieces would blow off and hit any vehicle that was behind us for the remainder of our drive home. It scared the hell out of us. I am thankful that my daughter was not driving due to seeing her panic reaction from this experience. There were no drivers in front of us. We were not driving under any trees. It was a clear open rural road. Went to our local dealer. They inspected the sunroof & stated they have never seen anything like this happen. Since I was out of the warranty due to mileage(9,000 over)they suggest I go through my insurance company to resolve this matter. My view on this is it wasn’t so much a warranty issue, but a huge safety issue. Never would I imagine a Sunroof self exploding while driving and not causing me to have an accident because of my reaction to it. So with this in mind, I directly called Mitsubishi motors of North America. I had them open up a case number on this issue. The final response back from the manufacture was that I needed to go through my insurance company to deal with having my sunroof replaced. During filing my case to the manufacture directly, they asked me what I would like to have Mitsubishi motors of North America do. I stated to have my sunroof replaced with the right tempered glass. That this was a scary situation and one of great safety concern that no sunroof with all the manufacture testing should ever have this happen. I was very disappointed that they were not willing to take the responsibility of replacing the sunroof properly with the right tempered glass. My insurance company view the photo of the sun roof damage and a claim is in the process.

I have a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander that I purchased July 26, 2023, from Ciocca Subaru of Philadelphia with a 100,000 mile/24-Month Dealership Warranty, an Extended Warranty in addition to the Manufacturer's Warranty, Ciocca Dealership Promise Warranty, Tire Warranty , Service, and Collision Care Program Warranties. The control arm broke as I was coasting in the parking lot of the supermarket on Wednesday, November 22nd, right before Thanksgiving. I was told on Friday by the Ciocca Subaru Dealer of purchase that the repairs had to be completed at a Mitsubishi Dealer, and told that it would not be covered in any of the warranties. Previous Mitsubishi Outlander's have had faulty/recalled control arms also. The vehicle was towed to Montgomeryville Mitsubishi at 1011 Bethlehem Pike, Montgomeryville, PA18936. To date, no one has looked at or egun repair and they refuse to provide a loaner vehicle. In the 4 months that I have had the vehicle, it seems that the fuel system is faulty also. The car will cut off when the vehicle shows 60 miles of gas remaining in the vehicle, which the vehicle is not on E (Empty).

I bought my 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander brand new in March of 2023. I have several dashboard error messages, with huge safety issues. I took it to Mitsubishi and it was in the shop for 65 days and they told me they do not know how to fix it, it is what it is. They also told me I should not rely on the car, the features, and the dashboard. These errors have occurred at different times of day, mileage, and different temperatures. I have pictures for proof. With out these safety features it puts me, my husband, and three small children at risk.

While driving in the city limits around 35 miles an hour I had to stop abruptly to avoid a collision with a driver who didn’t stop at the intersection. I had to come to a complete stop for this driver. When I took my foot off of the brake and tried to drive on my car would not move. I had to shift gears put it in park and try again. I could hear the engine responding but the car wouldn’t move. When it did start to move forward slowly it was shaking very hard and I was only able to get 10 miles an hour. I had to be towed. And I kept thinking what if I was on the highway that day where the speed limit is 75mph.

Our car seat is nearly brand new (first used at the end of Sept 2023 upon birth of our daughter) upon placing the car seat in the base, we noticed it wasn’t making the clicking sound indicating a secure lock to base. Upon further investigation it appears the pieces that lock the car seat in place are jammed and not operating properly. If we had gotten in a car accident the car seat would not have been properly secured.

The contact owns a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated that while making a left turn at 10 MPH, the steering wheel jerked violently. The vehicle was stopped, and the contact became aware that the tire turned inward. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the front sub frame, drive axle, lower control arm, ball joint, and tie rods needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

On 10/10/23, my boyfriend was driving the listed vehicle home. He had it in cruise control, note vehicle does not have adaptive cruise. Suddenly the vehicle started speeding up and redlining the RPM'S, he tried pressing the brakes and it did nothing. He finally was able to put it in neutral and get it to stop. Upon stopping. He tried shutting the vehicle off with the push button, but it would not shut off at first. Finally after several attempts he got it to shut off but noticed the vehicle trying to run other systems on its own while it's supposedly off.

On two instances, the plug under the driver seat controlling the seat functions became detached. On both occasions the seat pushed forward pushing the driver into the steering wheel making it nearly impossible to steer. Fortunately, I was stopped both times. This could have been catastrophic had I been going down the road. The dealer has temporarily wire tied the plug so it will not happen again and the have ordered a new wiring harness, which is on back order.

I purchased a brand new 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander on March 3rd 2022, and 25k miles in I am experiencing rear braking issues. I took my Outlander in to the local dealership at 247 El Cajon, CA 92020 on 9/6/22 for an inspection, because my vehicle was making very loud screeching noise every time the vehicle went into reverse (without even touching on the brakes). Initially I thought something was wrong with the wheels, because the noise was happening without having to press on the brakes. Upon inspection, I was told that my rear brakes were at 2mm and needed to be replaced, along with resurfaced rotors. My front brakes are good, but my rear brakes have worn down, and causing a screeching noise. According to the service manager at the dealership, the noise is not exactly the brakes itself, it is a sensor pin that begins to scratch along the rotors once the brake pads start to ware down and needing to be replaced. This vehicle has never been driven out of state! This vehicle is driven in town taking my kids to and from school, and for pleasure and errands. I am not a heavy driver or braker. There is absolutely no reason why a brand new vehicle is already needing rear brakes at only 25k miles. I have done some research both online and by calling around to a few different Mitsubishi dealerships, and I spoke to Joseph in the service department at Victorville Mitsubishi; I told him my issue, he asked how many miles I had and he quote on quote told me, "You are one of the lucky ones, because customers have been coming in at 15k miles needing to replace their rear brakes." This is pure insanity, 15k-25k rear brakes need replacing? This is NOT normal wear and tear; this is absolutely a manufacturer defect that needs serious attention and a recall.

We (driver and passenger) were pulling into a parking lot and going very slowly about to stop and get out of car. Suddenly and unexpectedly the car accelerated out of control and at an abnormal speed. the air bags deployed, smoke filled the cabin. After the police arrived and the car was towed, Liberty Mutual Insurance Company took title to the car. We were lucky to survive because the car ran into a cement wall from the sudden acceleration and went up into the trees and then backed down and hit the ground. There was a police report and the car was inspected by a manufacturer's representative. Earlier in the day there was a warning on the dashboard that said the vehicle needed maintenance. The "black box" of the car was analyzed by Bosche Co. But, we would like an independent agency to review the black box of the car and get an explanation as to why this possibly happened to us. The car has many safety features but nothing aided us in this particular instance.

Failure of driver side exterior mirror. 3 years after purchase of vehicle the mirror would no longer move in and out. Dealer replaced with OEM quality mirror July 2021. 2 years later (August 2023)mirror now has the exact same malfunction/defect. Mitsubishi is unable to tell me why the failure happened in the first place or why it has again happened. Mitsubishi refuses to take any action to fully rectify this issue. They only suggest again replacing the mirror. As the mirror is part of a side vehicle warning system the malfunction creates the possibility of a side collision with another vehicle. This letter is about a recent use car purchase, the car is a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander. I purchase the car on 19 April 2023 at Mitsubishi Dealer located in Commerce California, I paid cash. The sale went OK until I ask for a second key-fob as my wife will be the second driver. I was told they didn't have a second key-fob and one would not be supplied because the vehicle is sold as is. I was not pleased about this as I paid more than $38609.00 cash for the vehicle. I pushed back, the dealer would not relent. I purchased a key-fob at Mitsubishi Redondo Beach California, I was told that the key-fob would have to be paired to the vehicle and that would be billable. I was really angry when told this, but had it be done anyway. My feeling was I paid a lot of money cash and I was being treated like my money didn't mean anything now that they have it. I spend four hours at Mitsubishi Redondo, I was told that that could not pair the key-fob because they didn't have the updated software. I was told to go back to Mitsubishi Commerce and have it done there. I return Mitsubishi Dealer located in Commerce California to have the key-fob paired. I spent more than four hours waiting for the repair. I was told that the newly purchase key-fob was defective, and to return the original dealer for replacement. I went back to Mitsubishi Redondo Beach California for replacement key. I was told that it would take about a week. I waited two weeks and never got a response, I called the dealer to get an update, I was told the key had arrived. I asked why I was not informed, I got a runaround about being busy. This the typical response I got when trying to communicate with Mitsubishi. They started the repair three hour later I was told that it couldn't be done because they didn't have the latest software. I ask when would it be available, I was told it could be tomorrow or the next day or next week. They said they would keep me updated. They never call with an update.
