SummaryComplaint On affected hybrid vehicles of model series 223, a sporadic or continuously displayed red 12V warning message is shown in the instrument cluster. Cause Based on the current status of the analyses, 2 different causes may be considered probable: ·Failure of the current limiter module: The fault does not necessarily trigger a fault code. This fault profile is likely in the event of continuous 12V red messages. ·A second cause of the fault is indicated by the saved fault codes P0E32FA in the HV DC/DC converter (N82/2; see XENTRY Diagnosis for fault code) and, in some cases, B161609 in the electronic ignition switch (N73). This fault profile is likely in the event of sporadic 12V red messages. Remedy For cause analysis, the quick test for the vehicle should be examined for the presence of either of the two fault codes specified above. If no DTCs are saved and a continuous 12V red message is shown in the instrument cluster, the current limiter module is likely faulty and the component part must be replaced. In the event that the fault codes are saved in the DC/DC converter, the guided check must be followed. Depending on the result of the diagnosis, the work must be invoiced to the SSL of the corresponding component part.

SummaryComplaint Malfunction due to the ingress of dirt during the repair of the hydraulic system. Cause Cleaning instructions in WIS are not being sufficiently observed. This can result in dirt entering the hydraulic system of the vehicle or the filling unit. In subsequent filling/emptying procedures, the dirt is then transferred to another vehicle. Remedy Before removing/replacing an electrohydraulic pump unit or the associated hydraulic lines, as well as when removing the electrohydraulic suspension struts, it is essential to thoroughly wash the underbody. If the dust cap is missing/defective and if the filling valve in the interior is contaminated, the surrounding area must be cleaned thoroughly.

SummaryIn our continuing efforts to assure the proper performance of Mercedes-Benz products and to enhance the satisfaction of our customers, Mercedes-Benz USA (“MBUSA”) is extending the coverage for the ignition coil on your vehicle from the original New Vehicle Limited Warranty of 4 years / 50,000 miles to 15 years / 150,000 miles (whichever occurs first),and applies to the vehicle regardless of ownership. Why the warranty extension? On certain Model Year vehicles, the ignition coil might not operate and meet specifications as intended, potentially illuminating the check engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (‘MIL’). Any repairs under this warranty extension must be performed by an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership. • If your preferred authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership performs a diagnosis and confirms that your vehicle has the issue, the repair will be performed at no cost to you. • This extended warranty does not apply to any other components or conditions beyond the ones mentioned above, and standard warranty terms apply, including the exclusions with respect to extra expenses, as identified in the Service and Warranty Information booklet.

SummaryComplaint The result from the XENTRY battery test does not match the current state of the battery. Cause The XENTRY battery tester uses the stored on-board electrical system data in the SAM module to access the health of the 12 volt battery. The XENTRY battery test may not take into account a single discharge event because the SAM cannot record the data if the battery is discharged. Note: A discharged battery does not necessarily need to be replaced. A discharged battery may be recovered with no permanent damage. Remedy Follow guided tests as described.
