  In our continuing efforts to assure the proper performance of Mercedes-Benz products and to enhance the satisfaction of our customers, Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC ("MBUSA") is extending the warranty coverage on the engine thermostat (including software update) installed in certain Model Year ("MY") vehicles (with engines M176, M177, M178) listed below from the original New Vehicle Limited Warranty of 4 years/50,000 miles to 15 years/150,000 miles (whichever occurs first), due to the following condition: In the affected vehicles, the sealing ring in the engine thermostat could detach, causing a delay in the heating of the engine coolant. This may also cause the check engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp ("MIL") to illuminate. Please follow the work instructions added to this NCU to remedy the issue. Please be advised that all repairs being claimed under this extended warranty must have a quick test uploaded with the following fault code information and may be audited. P012800 - Coolant Thermostat (Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature) All repairs found to be functioning properly or without proper documentation will be returned and the claim debited in full. Only the following damage codes and parts may be claimed for the aforementioned repairs: Damage Code(s): 20102 - Insert, coolant thermostat o 52 - Does not operate correctly o 41 - Hard closing 20103 - Housing/cover, coolant thermostat o 73 - Electrical fault 2030T - Heating element, coolant thermostat o 53 - Insufficient effect/power o 73 - Electrical fault

Notes: - In the quick test, no fault code and no event code is stored in the RAMSES control unit (N112/2). The SIM card may be defective. A defective SIM card can be identified as follows: With XENTRY Diagnosis, open the "ACTUAL values" menu of the RAMSES control unit and read out the values for "EUICC, ICCID, IMEI, IMSI". ACTUAL values in the event of a defect: 1. EUICC:null 2. ICCID: null 3. IMEI: null 4. IMSI: null If all the values for "EUICC, ICCID, IMEI, IMSI" = null, then it is highly likely that the SIM card inside the RAMSES control unit is defective. Recommissioning the RAMSES control unit may rectify the problem. If the problem is still present after the recommissioning, then the RAMSES control unit must be replaced. In this case, please create a TIPS case and forward it to HQ. The part is required for analysis. Information on the return delivery of the module will be communicated via TIPS case.

  The "SOS nonfunctional" message appears sporadically in the instrument cluster of the vehicle. The fault code B129C00 is stored in the control unit log. The message occurs in particular after the vehicle has been non-operational for an extended period of time; the message then disappears of its own accord after a few minutes. No functional limitation to the emergency call system is to be expected. Software error in N112/9 control unit for telematics services (HERMES). Software update for control unit N112/9 - Control unit for telematics services (HERMES) to software release E522.8. If, against expectations, the erroneous display of the message in the instrument cluster continues to occur following the update, please create a TIPS case.

  In our continuing efforts to assure the proper performance of Mercedes-Benz products and to enhance the satisfaction of our customers, Mercedes-Benz USA ("MBUSA") is extending the coverage for the exhaust valve assembly on your vehicle as follows: Why the warranty extension? On certain Model Year 2011-2016 CL/CLS/S/E/ML/SL/G/GL/GLE-Class vehicles with V8 engines, the exhaust valve assembly might not work properly and result in an engine misfire and potential illumination of the check engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp ('MIL'). Any repairs under this warranty extension must be performed by an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership. If your preferred authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership performs a diagnosis and confirms that your vehicle has the issue, the repair will be covered under this extended warranty and performed at no cost to you. This extended warranty does not apply to any other components or conditions beyond the ones mentioned above, and standard warranty terms apply, including the exclusions with respect to additional expenses as identified in the Service and Warranty Information booklet.

In our continuing efforts to assure the proper performance of Mercedes-Benz products and to enhance the satisfaction of our customers, Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC ("MBUSA") is extending the warranty coverage on the exhaust valve system in certain Model Year ("MY") vehicles listed below as follows: MY 2011: Original New Vehicle Limited Warranty of 4 years / 50,000 miles New Vehicle to 12 years / 120,000 miles (whichever occurs first) MY 2012: Original New Vehicle Limited Warranty of 4 years / 50,000 miles New Vehicle to 11 years / 120,000 miles (whichever occurs first) MY 2013 - MY 2016: Original New Vehicle Limited Warranty of 4 years / 50,000 miles New Vehicle to 10 years / 120,000 miles (whichever occurs first) This extended warranty applies to the following condition that may necessitate the repair or replacement of components related to the exhaust valve assembly (e.g. exhaust valve, cylinder head) related to: •Over time, increased lateral forces may lead to wear in the valve guide and/or seat ring.   Complaint On vehicles with a low mileage, it may be the case that the displays in the rear passenger compartment do not start up. The Samsung tablet also remains stuck on the disclaimer. The Rear Seat Entertainment Package is nonfunctional and cannot be started or operated. Transport mode was unable to be completely deactivated. The rear seat unit is still in transport mode. Perform activation and subsequently deactivate the transport mode. Update the A26/17 - MBUX multimedia system (Head unit) to current software release.

A workshop visit for the customer is not required since remote software updates are automatically downloaded and installed in the customer’s vehicle. The OTA may be validated as successful on the customer’s Mercedes Me connect app under “Over-the-Air Vehicle Updates” as “Update for the communication module”. If the OTA is successful it will show a green “installed” and date of installation in the Over-the-Air update section.

  The Mercedes me connect services cannot be activated. The remote status data does not update. Error in N112/9 - control unit for telematics services (HERMES). In the HERMES control unit log, under the "URL" tab, the value DEFAULT is stored for "atpServerUrl" and/or "rcsServerUrl". Please carry out a re-commissioning of the control unit N112/9 - Control unit for telematics services (HERMES), which includes both a software update as well as coding. The fault will be rectified by the newly included coding.
