The rear subframe got separated from chassis. I was driving to work and had to hard brake to void a collision with another vehicle all of a sudden vehicle shifted to the left and I ended up on a curb. Further inspection vehicle`s rear subframe rotted out due to rust. Also, both rear brake lines from abs module to calipers are damaged due to corrosion. I ended up replacing both brake lines and did not think too much of it and now I see a lot of people complaining about both brake line corrosion and subframe separation or excessive rust, casing rear subframe to fail. It is a very serios safety issue and Mercedes should hold accountable for these failures. My vehicle is 2012 Mercedes E350 and only has 118k miles on odometer. I have attached pictures for the rear subframe for your review, but I did not take any pictures of the brake lines due to limited space to get my camera between the body and the rear subframe.

Mercedes Benz issued a recall and extended a warranty on its 2003-2005 E Class SBC braking systems (recall # 2005110001) and extended the warranty to 25 years; the 2006 E Class models have the exact same SBC braking system but is not included in the recall. Mercedes needs to add the 2006 E Class models to recall # 2005110001. My 2006 is experiencing the same SBC issues the 2003-2005 models are known to have but because my vehicle is 2006 it is not covered by the extended warranty.

It seems like brake lines corroded and need to be replaced. Same issue in this car with subframe and that was taken care of by the extended warranty but brake lines were not part of extended warranty? That should be investigated further. Rear subframe rust out and brake line corrosion are obviously related but Mercedes is only addressing subframe. Why? A lot of people have this issue and it's a huge safety concern.

while driving once I start braking once the car is around 3mph it shifts from drive into Park and abruptly comes to a stop. Sometimes I am able to put it back into Drive sometimes I have to turn the car off and reinsert the key just to get it back into drive. Normally happens after an hour or so of driving the when I try to come to a complete stop the car will automatically shift into park. This is very dangerous as it can ruin the transmission also the person driving behind me can run into the back of my car. Is there any recall for this issue

Badly corroded rear brake lines requiring replacement on a rust free car. Noted by the dealer as recommending replacement at approximately 70,000 miles: THE REAR BRAKE LINES ARE SUPER RUSTED AND CORRODED. THE REAR BRAKE LINES NEED TO BE REPLACED BEFORE THEY RUPTURE OPEN AND ALL BRAKING ABILITY IS LOST. ALIGNMENT WILL HAVE TO BE DONE AFTER BRAKE LINES ARE REPLACED SINCE THE REAR SUB FRAME HAS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE SEE ALIGNMENT RECOMMENDATION FOR ALIGNMENT COST--------3 DAY ORDER TIME

While driving, the instrument cluster and infotainment system displays intermittently go blank for 2-3 minutes. It appears that instrument cluster and infotainment systems crash and reboot. We have not noted any errors or warnings that may precede a failure. This has happened in this vehicle at least 5 times, in 2000 miles of driving. This presents a safety risk. No vehicle instrumentation is available when this happens. Vehicle instruments, including speedometer, blinker indicators, lane keep notifications, backup camera, etc are non-functional during the time it takes the screens to start working again. Dealer/MB has attempted to resolve repeatedly with no results. Dealer could not duplicate, but confirmed fault codes. We have video of this occurring.

- #11696370October 29, 2025UNKNOWN OR OTHER, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Subject: Electrical System Failure and Safety Hazard – 2025 Mercedes-Benz E350 Dear Sirs, I am writing to formally report a serious safety concern and design flaw involving my 2025 Mercedes-Benz E350, which recently suffered a complete dashboard and display failure. According to the service technician, liquid that entered from the cup-holder area reached wiring and computer modules located directly underneath, causing a total system short. I was informed that this damage was not covered under warranty because it was attributed to “liquid exposure.” However, I never noticed any liquid spill or misuse of the vehicle. When the dashboard failed, the following critical systems were lost: Speedometer and vehicle speed display Warning lights (airbag, ABS, check engine, etc.) Fuel gauge and temperature indicators Navigation and climate control screens This left me driving without any visible speed, warning, or system status, which constitutes a clear safety hazard both to myself and other motorists. The wiring harnesses and control modules located directly under the cup holders are unprotected from moisture or condensation, even from normal use. This placement exposes sensitive electronics to a predictable and foreseeable hazard — a beverage container or minor condensation. A luxury vehicle of this level should not experience catastrophic electrical failure from normal interior use. The design effectively ensures that even the smallest moisture exposure can lead to multi-thousand-dollar damage and loss of all essential vehicle functions. This appears to be a defect in design and safety engineering, not user negligence. The repair estimate for this issue was approximately $3,000–$4,000, which I was forced to process through my insurance. Given that this design could affect other vehicles of the same model.I did write t9 mercedes however nonrefundable. I felt I would forward to tiu as it is a safet issue.A redesign if where Electrical box is is a simple fix.

- #11696441October 29, 2025TIRES, TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS
RE: Continental Pro Contact GX SSR MOE 245/40 R19 98 H M+S Original factory installed Mercedes E450 tires. I had 3 blowouts from hitting small potholes on 3 different tires in 1.5 years. These are complete immediate blowout going completely flat on impact. It could have very dangerous if I were driving a little faster and fortunately there was no other damage to the car or other persons. In each case, I hit a small pothole, and the tire blew out, flat to the ground. Because these are run flat tires, on the first 2 incidents I was able to drive home and to the dealer for tire repair/replacement. The third one was so bad that I could not drive all the way home and had to get towed. But all 3 incidents were scary and dangerous because of the sudden blowouts. The tires were not repairable and had to be replaced. I believe that the Mercedes Tire inflation instructions is unsafe and they should put more air in the tires to protect from the rim cutting into the tire when hitting a pothole. The driver's door "B" pilar placard says the "cold tire pressure: Front 41 psi Rear 47 psi". Mercedes repair shop inflates the tires according to the Fuel Filler Door decal that says " Front 36 psi, Rear 36 psi." That is a big difference in pressure -- as much as possible 11 psi under pressure. I believe these run flat tires failed because of too low of tire pressure when hitting the pothole. If the tires were inflated with the higher pressures as on the door pilar, the wheel rim would not have been able to cut into and through the tire wall because the higher tire pressure would prevent the impact of the rim cutting through the tire sidewall. I believe this a serious safety issue and Mercedes should be inflating this type run flat MOE tires to a much higher pressure and should not use the low-pressure instructions that are on the fuel door label. There should be a recall and repair instructions to increase run flat tire pressure on Mercedes E class vehicles.

The contact called on behalf of the owner of a 2006 Mercedes-Benz E350. The contact stated that while his mother was driving at an undisclosed speed and approaching a traffic light, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the brakes failed to function as intended. The brake pedal was depressed down to the floorboard. The contact's mother used the parking brake to stop the vehicle. The ABS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence and then to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was diagnosed with Sensotronic Brake Control (SBC) system failure. The contact was informed that the Sensotronic Brake Control system needed to be replaced. The vehicle remained with the mechanic unrepaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.

Major issue found with engine cylinder head in various models with 2.0 Liter Turbo charged engines (Engine code M260 or M264). Cylinder heads have premature wear at valve seats, causing engine misfires and unsafe driving conditions. (Sudden loss of power, even on freeways.) Mercedes-Benz had improved cylinder head design to mitigate this issue, thus proving that they knew it was their product quality that is causing these unsafe issues. Mercedes-Benz even put out a service bulletin to address these defective cylinder heads. This publication can be found under XENTRY, Topic Number LI01.30-P-072328, Version 8, published 9/26/2023. My contact at Mercedes Dealer informed me that they are seeing a drastic increase in this problem affecting roughly over 25% of the models with these engines. They are beginning to fail at around the same time as the warranty expires. There are numerous stories on the internet concerning this issue, examples can be found in the following links: https://www.facebook.com/groups/mercedesbenzowners/posts/10162557430080937/ https://www.mercedesgleforum.com/threads/cylinder-head-replacement-11-500.4399/ We contacted Mercedes-Benz US Headquarters, they do not believe it is their problem and throws petty money around in attempt to strong-arm owners to shut us down. All we request was for Mercedes-Benz to own up to their quality issues and handle the repairs at their expense. Please help me among all the other owners that this is affecting. Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.

The car would not start, and displaying multiple rotating warnings. The car could not be shifted to neutral. The problem is going away after several hours by itself. Only check engine light remaining after car is able to start. The problem happened three times, most recent on October 20th. The last two problems were potentially addressed by updating software. Obviously the problem is still not fixed.
