SummarySome vehicles may exhibit wiper blade contact with the A-pillar trim, with or without a chattering noise. This condition may be caused by worn or contaminated wiper blades. It can also be caused by bent wiper arms, or loose wiper arm retaining nuts due to improper handling. Improper handling occurs when pulling on or forcing the wiper arms. Technicians should be aware that while replacement of the wiper blade may resolve some cases, correction of bent components or repositioning of the wiper arms, particularly when the retaining nut is loose, requires additional steps to ensure proper alignment and function.

SummaryA musty/mildew type odor may come from the vents when the air conditioning (A/C) system is operating. It is most noticeable when the A/C is first turned ON. This odor is the result of mold growth in the A/C evaporator/cooling unit which is caused by condensation, dust, and pollen within the cooling unit. This condition is usually worse during high humidity conditions. “Mazda Air Cooling Coil Coating” is available to encapsulate the mold to reduce odors. If the product is properly applied, it can effectively reduce the musty/mildew odor for up to three years.

SummarySome customers may complain that it is difficult to open/close the fuel-filler lid when pressed. This is caused by production variances, where if there is an excess gap (3) between the fuel-filler lid panel (1) and the fuel-filler box hinge (2), the operation stroke may be larger than designed and result in a difficult to lock/unlock operation of the fuel-filler lid lock actuator. To eliminate this concern, the operation stroke of the fuel-filler lid lock actuator rod has been changed to reduce the play of the actuator rod.

SummarySome customers may complain of a squeaking noise from the driver side seat back. The noise may be due to rubbing between the lumbar part of the driver’s seat back (1) and the rear console lid. The lumbar support pad may be deformed outward and may rub against the rear console lid while driving or when adjusting the seat memory. This can cause a squeaking noise.

SummaryMSP61 - MAZDA SERVICE PROGRAM - 2024 CX-30 AND 2024 MAZDA3 - CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (CMU) SOFTWARE CONCERN. Mazda Service Program (MSP61) – 2024 CX-30 and 2024 Mazda3, equipped with 6 speakers Connectivity Master Unit (CMU) software concern: When using a Bluetooth® connected smartphone and talking with handsfree function on a vehicle with 6 speakers, the person on the other end of the line may have difficulty hearing the driver’s voice. Causal factor: Inappropriate Connectivity Master Unit (CMU) software. There are 65,022 vehicles in the U.S. and U.S. Territories. Mazda Motor Corporation has decided to conduct one Mazda Service Program (MSP61) and one Special Service Program (SSPD7) affecting vehicles in the U.S. and U.S. Territories. Mazda vehicles in Canada and Mexico are also affected by SSPD7 and must be repaired if presented to your dealership. There is some overlap in the VIN population and certain vehicles are affected by both campaigns. ACTION ITEM: There are approximately 2,800 (SSPD7) and 11,000 (MSP61) vehicles in stock at U.S. Mazda dealers which must be repaired as soon as possible. All Mazda dealers must quarantine any affected new, used, or CPO in-stock vehicles until the repair is completed. The affected dealer inventory list was provided to your District Service Manager with the notification of this dealer email. Once completed, the car can be delivered, and the Warranty claim can be submitted later without penalty since the car has been repaired. Repair Synopsis: Both campaigns require software updates. SSPD7 uses MDARS to update and should be performed after MSP61 if the vehicle has both campaigns. MSP61 updates the software via a USB stick. A Battery charger will be required to stabilize battery voltage. There are no parts involved with either campaign.

SummaryThe new AWD rear differential DOES NOT come with a breather cap on the rear of the differential, therefore a new one will need to be ordered and installed when replacing the differential. NOTE: The breather threads have a sealant and locking compound that prevents it from being reused. Refer to GEPC for the correct part number of the Differential Breather. The instructions on MGSS will be updated soon to include replacing the breather when replacing the differential with a new unit.

SummarySome CX-5 and CX-30 customers may find that the liftgate does not close when pressing the power liftgate (PLG) rear switch (A) located on the interior liftgate trim. This may be caused by PLG switch corrosion. Water from a high pressure car washer and/or condensation may drip onto the switch connector and cause corrosion. To eliminate this concern, the PLG rear switch has been modified with a waterproof connector.
