SummarySome 2015-2017 vehicles may experience a no crank concern due to a security access key table error. When attempting to program keys or perform a parameter reset, the procedure may fail and the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) scan tool may display an error 232: Key Table Not Allocated. If this error message is encountered, the Body Control Module (BCM) is internally faulted and requires replacement. For claiming, use causal part 15604 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the Service Labor Times Standards (SLTS) manual.

DTCs B14BA:13, B1154:4B, and/or B14B9:13 may also be present. This may be due to loose terminal pin fit on the driver seat module (DSM) connector C341D (16 pin). If a loose terminal pin fit condition is found during normal diagnostics per Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-10, a new service pigtail connector (part number 3U2Z-14S411-BRAB) is available. Refer to Wiring Diagram, Cell 119 to make sure C341D is a 16 pin connector and not a 20 pin connector. Refer to Wiring Diagram, Cell 5 for the recommended splicing procedures.

SummarySome 2019 Mustang/Fusion/Edge/F-150/Continental/MKZ/Nautilus with SYNC 3 may show a pop-up message every key cycle that states Network Connection Needed - To complete the system updates your vehicle should connect to a Wi-Fi network or through the FordPass/LincolnWay app. Until the update is completed, some features may not be available. Would you like to attempt to connect to a Wi-Fi network now? This message may occur, even if SYNC has been connected to a trusted Wi-Fi source. To temporarily remove the inconvenience of this pop-up message, advise the customer from SYNC to select Settings > Automatic Updates > System Wi-Fi and turn off System Wi-Fi, then turn off automatic system updates. SummarySome 2013-2018 C-MAX, 2013-2019 Fusion Energi, and 2017-2019 Fusion/MKZ Hybrid vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P04B5. This may be due to inadvertent actuation of the fuel door release button by the customer when exiting the vehicle. If the fuel filler door is not fully closed after a refueling event or the fuel filler door is open from erroneously pressing the fuel door release button, a message displays during the third drive cycle to indicate the fuel filler door is not closed and the DTC sets. Before performing Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnosis, consult the customer about the potential for accidental fuel door actuation and explain the need to fully latch the fuel door after every refueling event. Malfunction Indicator Lamp will turn off after (3) drive cycles with fuel filler door closed.

SummarySome 2013-2014 Fusion and MKZ vehicles may not complete a PMI procedure when installing a FCIM. When this occurs, perform Module Reprogramming in IDS. If not prompted to enter as-built data, perform As-Built programming to finish configuring the FCIM. FCIM service stock is transitioning to the 2015 model year level FCIM, and the as-built data on the server has been updated for 2013-2014 model year vehicles to include an extra line of data to accomodate the change. However, some older FCIMs may still be received from service stock. If an older level FCIM is being installed, the PMI may fail and performing Module Reprogramming will correct the concern. Normal PMI procedure will complete on a 2015 FCIM.

SummarySome 2017-2019 MKZ vehicles equipped with a 2.0 HEV engine may exhibit a fuel filler door unable to be opened or closed with or without an illuminated malfunction indicator (MIL) and DTC P04B5. This may occur when the fuel door is pressed or obstructed while the fuel door release latch is operating. If the fuel filler door is unable to be closed, a message displays during the third drive cycle and the DTC P04B5 will set. Before performing Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnosis, reset the system by pressing the fuel filler door release switch and wait 12 seconds for reset. The fuel door release latch should be heard when the motor is in motion. Review fuel filler door for locking tab operation. If the fuel filler door is operating properly, it should not be replaced.
