On November 11th, 2023 I was driving down the road. I noticed my power steering starting to fail. I looked down and everything was lit up on the dash. I quickly put on my turn signal so the cars behind me knew I was exiting the road. I was in another state on a 2 lane road. Luckily I was able to pull off the road into a gravel parking lot. The car would not start. My children called for a tow truck and it was towed to my cousin's house about a half hour away. Several days later I had it towed to a garage by my cousin's and was told the engine seized up and would need replaced. I was about 4 hours away from home, so my children paid to have it towed back home. It was towed to a Kia dealership by my home. After several weeks of getting all my oil changes to give them, they wanted all my oil changes for the 7 1/2 years I have owned the car. They finally approved a new engine after denying it the first time. I had to go 6 weeks without a vehicle because they would not give me a rental till the new engine was approved. The only problem is the new engine is still under the recall to replace the HECU fuse, so the problem can occur again.

Received the recall notice from Kia back in November 2023 and have contacted them several times about fixing the problem. On February 8, 2024 took the car in to our local Kia dealer, Overturf, and had a recall inspection performed due to a burnt rubber/plastic smell when driving the car. The recall part said that the car caught on fire and we were concerned that this was the reason for the smell. The service department said they were unable to duplicate the smell, but that our car was one of the ones impacted by the recall. Said no fix for the problem yet so to park the car. This is our main means of transportation. They offered no rental or a loaner car.

The sunroof imploded on its own while driving with no cars around. The implosion was so loud it caused me to swerve to other lanes and caused temporary sound loss. There was no warning and would have been worse if the sunshade wasn't on. Insurance is reviewing

Sometimes the vehicle will stall and not want to move. I have to try and coast off the road to kill the car and restart it. Also sometimes the radio goes completely black and doesnt come back on even if you kill the car.

I was driving 78 mph on the interstate when my car did a hard snatch and I thought I hit something in the road I didn't see. I looked in rearview mirror and saw white/blue smoke and I looked down and all the dash lights started coming on. I slowed down and pulled off the side of the road and the engine turned off before I put it in park. Oil is pouring out of the bottom of the motor area. No warning lights, no limp mode or any warnings at all.

The vehicle just lost power at 75mph on [XXX] heading home to Princeton, ME, started vibrating really bad misfiring then we pulled over the Kia Sorento stalled. Then would not start back up. It’s been using over a quart a week since we got it from the dealership in Bangor, Maine. We got it towed home our mechanic looked at it and noticed oil on the plugs and said we probably need a new engine. Low beam light keep coming off and on so thinking it’s something electrical. Time to time the transmission take a min to shift the engine rpms stay up n takes a few extra seconds to shift. •The engine of my 2015 Kia Sorento experienced a catastrophic failure, leading to a loss of power and abnormal sounds while driving. It is available for inspection upon request. •The sudden failure of the engine posed a significant safety risk to both me and others on the road. Without any warning lamps or messages, this malfunction could have led to a complete loss of control over the vehicle, endangering lives, particularly if I had been driving at high speeds on the highway. •Yes, the issue has been confirmed by the Courtesy Kia service center in Messa, where the vehicle was inspected and diagnosed with a crashed engine requiring replacement. •While the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, it has undergone evaluation by the authorized dealer service center, Courtesy Kia in Messa. They told me that they have contacted manufacturer and that they declined any support because I am second owner and therefore their engine warranty only covers 60000 miles. •No warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms were present prior to the engine failure. Despite diligently maintaining the vehicle and conducting regular services, there were no indications of any issues until the sudden loss of power and abnormal sounds occurred while driving. Even upon towing my car home and parking the vehicle at garage, no warning lights were illuminated, further highlighting the unexpected nature of the malfunction.

2015 Kia Sorento LX has large pieces of paint chipping off from the driver and passenger side pillars (between front and side windows). It started as a few small areas, but now when it rains large pieces of paint blow off and stick to the drivers side & passenger side window while I'm driving. I've seen many other Kia's with the same Snow White Pearl color which have the same area of paint chipped. Is this an issue which is covered by Kia since it is so common? I have a new spot starting to chip on the passenger side door (added to the attached pics). This started about a year ago with a few small chips, but the pieces that come off now are getting larger. We had a full week of rain last week and I can see many large areas which are ready to come off and will do so next time I drive, esp in the rain. If the hood starts chipping and large paint chips were to blow on my front window during the rain that could be a big issue.
