In November 2025, after charging car overnight, backed out of driveway and began to drive. Within 100 feet, received red error message and tone: “Stop vehicle and check power supply”. Stopped the vehicle and got it towed to Kia dealer, who confirmed that the ICCU had failed, despite the car having received the software patch purporting to fix the problem. The ICCU was replaced under warranty within a week. We were fortunate that this occured very close to home, without safety consequences. Ten minutes later, the car would have been travelling at 65 on a highway with no shoulder for long stretches, which would have been very dangerous. This was a certified preowned EV6 with less than 9000 miles on it. The 12 volt battery was brand new, having been replaced 3 months earlier with an AGM battery as a possible preventative measure for this issue.

A warning came up on the dashboard to “Check electric vehicle system”. 12v battery light also on. Vehicle went into limp mode and drove at 45 mph max for a period of time, then dropped to 27 mph max. Inspections at Ziegler Kia in Holland, MI, found the ICCU was faulty and needs to be replaced. This vehicle has already had the ICCU recall applied, yet ICCU has failed again.

I was driving my car and the stop immediately and check battery sign came on. I had to have my car towed to the dealership. I read that the ev6 have ICCU problems and commonly need to be replaced. The car lost all acceleration and power and eventually stopped moving all together.

ICCU failure within three (3) days of buying vehicle. Only 300 miles on it. Failed to charge with known working Level 1 charger on day 1, successfully charged with Level 3 charger on day 2, and then failed to charge at same Level 3 charger on day 3. Simply connecting the Level 3 charger on day 3 had the car emitting "charger errors", and then followed that up with an "On board charger" fault. Vehicle no longer charges. Returned to dealer for repair.

Car has an NACS charger port, and is advertised by KIA as compatible with Tesla Superchargers and home chargers. The car will not charge at a supercharger nor at home using a Tesla charge cord that works with a Tesla Model 3.

The iccu failed on this car rendering the whole vehicle useless. This part is currently a recall and I was using a new ICCU with the software update per their recall solution. My second ICCU failed at approximately 40k miles.

I was unable to charge this electric vehicle which I normally do almost once or twice a week using my home level 2 charger. It also did not speak the message that "your vehicle is being charged" which it normally does when I charge the vehicle. I tried multiple times. Then I got into the vehicle and saw that it was giving me the following error messages (pics included below) upon trying to start it. 1. "Check Electric Vehicle System" 2. "Battery Discharge Warning - Please use the vehicle after starting the vehicle". However the vehicle would not start and then it went went totally dead. Kia was kind enough to tow it under warranty to Century Kia in Tampa, FL as well as now they are trying to identify the issue. Kia was also kind enough to provide me a rental via Century Kia which I appreciate.

The car on 3/5 blanked out on all screens. shut car off and then came back on, no warnings came up. The car on 3/7 came up with “Check Electric Vehicle System” reverted to page 1-46 of Manual and advised do not drive, tow to nearest dealership. We drove car 4 miles home and the car had next to no acceleration, extremely dangerous and people nearing to back end us. To try and charge vehicle response is "unsuccessful"

When attempting to level one charge the vehicle at home, the car returned a failure to charge error and would not charge. This was attempted several times using different outlets and the same error occurred. The car was brought to Gettel Kia in Bradenton Florida. The dealership confirmed that the ICCU had failed,. They did not have the part and apparently it is on backorder. The repair is being covered under warranty, however, it is not being considered a recall, despite many other Kia EV6s having ICCU failures. The ICCU failures are extensive and need to be further investigated by NHSTA and a full recall for all Kia EV6s should be ordered.

The ICCU fuse blew. As I was driving, the car began to lose power. Fortunately I was able to pull into a parking lot before I lost all power. It's the same issue as the recall SC327Y1 from NHTSA, which occurred although the software update had already been performed previously. The dealer is replacing the ICCU and ICCU fuse under SC327Y1 after inspecting it. I did receive a warning as I was driving that the car was low on power.

When shifting from reverse to drive there was a loud pop towards the back up the car. A check electrical system warning popped up, and then eventually a Check Power Supply stop now warning came up. The vehicle would not go above 26MPH and had to be stopped in a parking lot to be towed to the dealership. The ICCU went out and needed to be replaced, was at the dealership for 2 weeks for replacement.

The component that is seeming to fail in most KIA EV6's is the ICCU assembly. This is the component that failed in my KIA EV6 GT. Part# 364-1XFA0AQQK Also the ICCU Fuse, Part#375F2-GI040QQK FUSE-HIGH VOLTAGE. My safety and everyone around me was put at risk when the vehicle loss power due to this ICCU failure. As I entered the highway the vehicle starts loosing power. The vehicle gradually lost power more and more over time. I was able to make it to an exit driving at approximately 20-30 mph, and was able to drive it back to my house where it was then towed to a dealership. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer. I have the invoice to prove the repair of the ICCU. Yes there were warning messages on the screen when the ICCU failed. First, there was an audible "POP" which was the fuse blowing first. Once the fuse blows, it slowly kills the 12v battery and the car then looses power and you're no longer able to drive the vehicle. At that point, the ICCU is blown. The error message showing on the screen was: "CHECK ELECTRIC VEHICLE SYSTEM". Then the display starts blinking red and displays "STOP VEHICLE AND CHECK POWER SUPPLY". I have all the screenshots of the error messages the vehicle displays. The text message that is attached to this complaint is the service tech informing me that the 12v battery that they charged me $366.66 for, DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. Yet they still charged me for the battery. This dealerships service department had my car from January 21, 2026 to March 4, 2026. A total of 42 days. At the time of the text message, it had already been past one month. I would like to be reimbursed for this cost.

The ICCU failed. The vehicle suddenly stopped on the road, would not go into any gear and could not be moved whatsoever, was stuck on the side of the road in a dangerous position. Called roadside assistance, after a few hours the vehicle was towed to the nearest dealership. After a week the vehicle had the ICCU replaced under warranty.

While driving the vehicle a short distance, I heard a loud pop from the back seat. The car immediately warned of an electrical system failure. The issue and symptoms are consistent with ICCU module failures, reported across the kia/hyundai egmp platform. My safety was put risk, because I was stopped in heavy traffic when this happened and could have been stranded far from home with no ability to drive the vehicle more than a couple of miles at most. The warnings started immediately after the pop I heard.

I purchased this vehicle just over a year ago as a CPO model with only 8,000 miles on it. It now has just over 23,000 miles. In this short time of ownership, it has been back to the dealership 3 separate times for serious EV system issues. The first visit involved a software update intended to correct a 12-volt charging issue that could prevent the vehicle from charging and potentially cause ICCU failure. Shortly after that update, the 12-volt battery failed, despite being <18 months into service, completely bricking the vehicle and leaving me stranded waiting for a tow. The battery was replaced under warranty. Less than 2 months later, while >30 miles from home, the vehicle displayed a “Check Electrical System Failure” warning. I was able to limp-mode the car back to the dealership. I am now being told that the main EV battery has failed and must be replaced, possibly also the ICCU. The dealership cannot provide a firm timeline for repairs; parts availability could mean anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 months without the vehicle. This pattern of failures raises serious concerns about the reliability and safety of the EV6. Repeated electrical system issues create a very real risk of being stranded unexpectedly, potentially in unsafe situations such as on the side of a highway. To date, I have already lost four days of use due to service repairs, and I now face being without the vehicle for an extended and uncertain period. While a loaner vehicle is being provided, I will incur fuel expenses at a time of rising gas prices, undermining the financial rationale for purchasing an EV. Meanwhile, I continue making payments on a vehicle I cannot use, which is depreciating in value. I understand that new technology carries some risk. However, despite prior updates and even a model refresh, the ICCU issue appears unresolved, and Kia does not seem to have a clear root cause identified. For a vehicle marketed on innovation and dependability, this experience has indicated otherwise.

The Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) of my KIA EV6 failed. When putting the car into reverse to leave my workplace, I heard a fuse pop and a notification appeared on dashboard screen saying "Check electric vehicle system". This is a known recall issue that I was aware could happen, and in which case the car will soon become completely inoperable, so I didn't risking driving further. I had it towed to the nearest KIA dealership, where they confirmed the ICCU had failed and replaced it at no charge under the warranty coverage. There were no warnings or symptoms prior to the failure. I was fortunate that it did not fail while I was driving.
