SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Driving home from the dealer after they updated the software due to a service bulletin regarding the backup camera locking up, the automatic braking system applied the brakes while driving 75 mph down the interstate. Fortunately there was no one in front of or behind at the time. Took it to the dealer and they checked for error codes and none were found.

My GRAND CHEROCKEE Limited Edition 2025, has an intermittent and recurring, sudden, TOTAL LOSS OF PROPULSION condition, since I bought it new in 2025, making this vehicle a safety hazard. While driving, the engine suddenly begins to roar. Immediately afterward, the vehicle experiences a sudden and total loss of propulsion and the speed drops dramatically, despite the engine revs up to 5,000-6,000 or more, the engine does not respond when I press the accelerator and the vehicle continues losing speed, creating a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, especially in heavy traffic and on the highway. This happened numerous times, driving at both city and highway speeds. The condition is sudden and unpredictable. After the engine is shut off and restarted, normal operation temporarily returns! I video recorded the dashboard and the motor noise to help the mechanics identify the problem, starting on May17th 2025. I provided the videos to a certified Jeep dealership's service advisor who reported that they "didn't find a trouble code", they "couldn't reproduce the condition", that "the vehicle works as designed" (!) and "nothing fall under warranty". I brought this vehicle 5 times to the same dealership, for the same problem and I got the same report, despite the evidence shown on the multiple videos, which was also witnessed by my passengers on 3 occasions. JEEP CUSTOMER CARE gave me a case number 98068228 and asked me to bring my vehicle to a different dealership, but they were also unable to resolve the problem. The videos I recorded when the problems occurred, show clearly the mechanical failure, but because the electronic of the car fails to show a code and because they can't reproduce it during a 4 miles drive, I was simply told to bring it back (again!) when it happens again (if I am not killed in the process). Meanwhile, I am left with a dangerous vehicle, qualified as "works as it is designed". It is a miracle I didn't get in a crash yet. Please help !

AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
On 10/5/26 our jeep grand cherokee was parked in our drive way with the ignition started and the car in the park position. While my mom was in the car in the drivers seat, the car accelerated forward at a rapid speed and left the park position. The car slammed into my garage and caused severe damage to my garage and the car. The car is a total loss. I submitted this information to the police and to the manufacturer.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION
OnXXX at approximately 915 am I was making a LEFT hand turn across 3 lanes of 422, when the vehicle appeared to have a serious electrical failure and complete shut down as nothing on the vehicle was working and I was unable to immediately exit the vehicle. I was about 3 ft out into the intersection facing oncoming traffic going the opposite direction. The vehicle was towed to Preston Dodge/Jeep in New Castle PA. On Sept 16th I received a text message stating the problem had been fixed, the problem being "the positive terminal not being fully seated thus creating a powering down situation." I picked the vehicle up, and another significant electrical incident occurred at 3am on XXX while driving home from work. I lost all dashboard illumination except for my main center screen, and received flashing warnings about blind spot failure, as well as electrical seat failure, failure of hatch operation, failure of windows and door lock/unlock, cruise control unavailable, active lane management unavailable, AEB unavailable, ACC unavailable, rear wiper not operating, mileage flashing. The dealership was then contacted again, the Jeep remains in their possession, however I they have failed to be transparent and severe lack of communication. The vehicle had a yearly state inspection by the same dealership 2 weeks prior to the initial incident.

VISIBILITY:SUN/MOON ROOF ASSEMBLY
While driving my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, the panoramic sunroof glass suddenly and unexpectedly shattered/burst while the vehicle was in motion. There was absolutely no rock, road debris, object, collision, or other impact that struck the glass before it failed. The failure occurred without warning. My wife and our two children were inside the vehicle at the time, making this an extremely serious safety concern. The glass appeared to fail suddenly and the panoramic sunroof was left open/damaged. There was no known external cause for the glass failure. The vehicle and damaged sunroof components are available for inspection, and I have photographs documenting the condition immediately after the incident. I am certain there was no impact to the glass. This vehicle has also previously experienced a serious electrical malfunction in which I lost power steering and braking assistance while operating the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealership for this issue and required service. I am reporting this incident because an unexpected failure of the panoramic sunroof while driving presents a significant safety hazard, particularly with my wife and two children in the vehicle. I am concerned about the reliability and safety of this vehicle and believe the sudden glass failure should be investigated by the manufacturer and NHTSA.

POWER TRAIN, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ENGINE
The occurrence happened 4 times. While driving when the accelerator is pushed, and not in an extreme way, the engine will rev to the maximum level, the transmission stopped working the car comes to a slow stop and the ignition must be switched off to stop the run away engine. Then restarted without incident. This has happened while making both left and right turns with and without cruise control on. Example: while driving on a 2 lane road with cruse control on the car in front slows to turn I apply the brakes, when applying minimal pressure to the accelerator pedal the engine revs to redline, the transmission stopes functioning and the vehicle coasts to a stop while in traffic with no forward movement possible. The engine revs without any input from the operator. Very dangerous have almost been rear ended 4 times by the traffic behind me. I feel this is a serious problem that may cause a serious life threatening accident. I will be requesting repair or replacement from the dealership under warranty and will report any findings to this organization. This needs to be addressed immediately as this is a serious life threatening issue.

The contact owns a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle suddenly shut off. The contact was able to immediately restart the vehicle and continued driving. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and DTC: P032S was retrieved (insufficient torque produced by the engine). The dealer was unable to repair the vehicle because the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 19,600.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, POWER TRAIN, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
I am reporting recurring safety-related shifting and vehicle gear/park-state concerns involving my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has failed to transition properly from Reverse into Drive. I reported this Reverse-to-Drive issue to the manufacturer before later becoming aware of diagnostic information that I believed could potentially relate to the behavior. I am not a mechanic and do not know the underlying cause. On July 5, 2026, while my infant was in the vehicle, I placed the vehicle in Park and it displayed a “Park Not Engaged” warning despite being in Park. Warning sounds occurred and the vehicle automatically engaged the parking brake. This caused me serious concern about whether the vehicle was reliably recognizing its selected gear/park state. I immediately reported the incident to the manufacturer and was instructed to bring the vehicle to an authorized dealership. I complied. The vehicle was at the dealership from July 8 through July 27, 2026. During that repair visit, the dealer documented that FCA/WiTECH diagnostic systems were unavailable and that the vehicle could not be properly scanned. The vehicle was ultimately returned to me without the reported concerns being resolved. The vehicle has accumulated approximately 22 days out of service during its repair history. The manufacturer and authorized dealership have been made aware of my concerns and the vehicle has been available for inspection and diagnosis. I remain concerned about the recurring Reverse-to-Drive behavior and the July 5 Park Not Engaged event because unexpected or unreliable gear/park-state behavior could create a risk of unintended vehicle movement or an inability to reliably control the vehicle as expected. The underlying failed component or cause is UNKNOWN. I am submitting this complaint so these incidents are documented and can be evaluated by NHTSA for a potential safety-related defect.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, STEERING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
I am reporting a serious safety failure in my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L (1,483 miles). On XXX, the vehicle was parked with my wife and young children inside. Upon starting it, the vehicle would not shift into gear, the steering wheel locked, and the front windows stopped working. The lane departure symbol lit up during the failure, and the vehicle would not shut off through normal controls. After two hours, we shut it off by disconnecting the battery. When restarted, the check engine light and other warning lamps came on, and the vehicle began shaking and rattling. No crash occurred, but with steering locked and children in the car, I had no way to safely disable the vehicle for two hours. This could have caused loss of control if it happened while driving. No prior warning signs occurred before the incident. The vehicle has not been inspected by a dealer or repair shop, as no certified Jeep dealership exists on Lanai, Hawaii, where I reside; shipping the vehicle requires barg transport to XX or XXX. The vehicle is available for inspection on request and is currently not in use. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

AIR BAGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Dear NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation, I am filing this formal safety defect complaint regarding the complete failure of the airbag system to deploy during a serious motor vehicle collision on [XXX], involving a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Altitude (VIN: [XXX] ). This failure occurred in direct connection with a known manufacturer defect covered under NHTSA Recall #26V-328. The driver, [XXX] , sustained serious injuries that were significantly enhanced by the airbag failure. Neither the driver nor the vehicle owner, [XXX] , had any prior knowledge of this defect. We request that NHTSA open a formal investigation and take all appropriate enforcement action against Stellantis/FCA On [XXX], at approximately [XXX] PM, [XXX] was operating the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Altitude southbound on [XXX] . Conditions at the time were ideal — clear weather, dry roads, and full daylight visibility. [XXX] was traveling straight through a signalized intersection at the posted 35 MPH speed limit when his vehicle was struck by a 2024 Ford Expedition that failed to yield while making a left turn from northbound [XXX] . The result was a serious angle collision that caused disabling damage to the Jeep Grand Cherokee. The vehicle was unable to be driven and was towed from the scene by Police Impound Quality Towing [XXX] ). [XXX] was wearing his shoulder and lap belt seatbelt and was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He was transported by ambulance to Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. The official State of Michigan Traffic Crash Report (Southfield PD, Incident #[XXX], Crash ID [XXX]) confirms all of these facts and documents that [XXX] bore no fault for this collision. SUSPENSION
A trailer hitch was contracted as part of the vehicle purchase on December 20, 2025, and was physically installed by Southern Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in January 2026 as a fulfillment of that purchase contract. This installation was performed by Stellantis's own authorized dealer technicians. The vehicle has been configured and warranted for towing use since January 2026 — an explicitly marketed capability of this vehicle platform. A trip was scheduled for May 18, 2026 to tow a 12-foot rigid inflatable boat (yacht tender) weighing approximately 600 pounds on a trailer from XXX to Fawcett Boat Services in XXX — a route of approximately 150 miles traversing [XXX] in heavy traffic at approximately 70 mph. The appointment at Fawcett Boat Services is verifiable. The boat's location in [XXX] is documentable. The air suspension failure occurred on May 17, 2026 — one day before this towing trip. The trip was canceled as a direct result. Had the failure occurred on May 18, 2026 during transit on Interstate 95: —The spontaneous asymmetric rear suspension collapse — right rear corner dropping without warning at 70 mph — would have subjected the hitch coupling to vertical and lateral forces outside its design tolerance —Trailer instability, jackknifing, or physical decoupling of a 600-pound loaded trailer at 70 mph in heavy interstate traffic is mechanically foreseeable —A decoupled trailer carrying a rigid boat structure at 70 mph in heavy traffic is a lethal projectile — the foreseeable consequences include multiple vehicle collisions and loss of life Stellantis marketed this vehicle as towing-capable. Stellantis's dealer installed the hitch. Stellantis knew — through its own published Technical Service Bulletins — that the Quadra-Lift system was prone to spontaneous failure at highway speed. The convergence of a known defect, an explicitly marketed and dealer-installed towing capability, and a spontaneous highway f INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
On April 20, 2026, my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L was involved in a crash due to a sudden and complete brake failure. At the time of the incident, the vehicle was in the custody of an authorized FCA dealership. An employee of the dealership was operating the vehicle when the brakes completely failed to respond, resulting in an accident. FCA US LLC Special Investigations conducted an inspection (Case #[96529168]) and stated they found no physical evidence of a manufacturing defect or component malfunction. However, the mechanical or electronic failure was severe enough to cause a crash while being operated by a professional dealership technician. I am filing this complaint because sudden brake failure represents an extreme safety hazard to the public. The manufacturer has denied assistance, and independent federal oversight is required to determine if a software or hydraulic defect exists in this model year.

My vehicle wasn’t reading my key fob when I was pressing the lock and unlock button, so I took out the hard key and unlock the doors. Then the alarm set off and I was using the key fob again trying to shut the alarm off no response so I took the key fob and press the start stop button and the engine turn over and the key was working again then I went to shut off the engine same way. The engine would not shut off my driver seat wouldn’t move so I couldn’t get to the battery and I paid a lock smith to come out and he couldn’t even help me with my key fob not syncing with the vehicle..my ebreak would not release or the emergency override break wasn’t working. On the digital dash it’s kept saying shift to park to release parking break but the vehicle was in park all while doing so. This all happened around 7pm. So I could not get help until the morning cs the vehicle would not move

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
The Uconnect infotainment system is glitchy, blacks out, and has restarted itself. The dealership I purchased it from has currently had now for a 3rd time and over 30 days. The 2nd visit the screen was replaced and the same issues still exist. This is a huge safety concern, because the system has malfunctioned while in reverse which obstructs the rearview camera view. I can’t trust that rear sensors aren’t tied into this and will apply the brakes if I get too close to something or someone/something suddenly goes behind me in reverse. The blind spot monitoring system has gone out a few times and this limits the lane keep assist functions. The dealership has said they can’t replicate the issue and the first time this happened no codes came up despite there being a stored message on digital cluster display. They have replaced a sensor module this time, but as they still have the vehicle I don’t know if this has fixed the problem or not. This is obviously a huge safety issue as it could case a wreck if someone is in a blind spot and I can’t see them and the vehicle can’t help alert me to this. It also seemed to slightly impact the handling of the vehicle as well causing me to consistently need to make micro adjustments of the steering while driving. Among those issues I have been having other commonly known issues with vehicle such as the “key fob has left vehicle” message despite the key fob still being inside the vehicle. It does not matter which key fob is used and the battery to the fob is good. The dealership can’t four that out either and have checked to make sure the serial numbers on the fobs match the VIN. The fan speed pop-up when shutting off the vehicle displaying 127 front/0 rear can’t be figured out either and dealership verified it has the most updated software versions currently available. A lot of these issues have been there since I purchased it 12/2025 or showed up within 1-2 months of owning it. Finally took it to the dealership in March.
