- #11772314October 20, 2026STEERING, ENGINE, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
My vehicle is experiencing sudden, unprovoked engine stalling specifically during turns [Specify: e.g., when turning right from a complete stop / while coasting through a left turn at 15 mph]. When the engine stalls mid-turn, the vehicle immediately loses all power steering and braking assist. This creates an incredibly dangerous situation where the vehicle becomes nearly impossible to steer or stop, placing myself, my passengers, and other drivers at imminent risk of a catastrophic collision. The vehicle experienced a stall while executing the sharp right turn onto the [XXX] exit.. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The driver was pulling onto a driveway and braking to slow to a stop near the entrance of a garage. Suddenly the car surged ahead striking a stone column at the garage entrance severely damaging the column and damaging the front hood, bumper and licence plate area of the car. The air bags did not deploy. This incident occurred at night. At the same time the car surged forward the interior lights and control panel lights went out completely. They came back on after the vehicle hit the garage column. There were two adults and two children in the vehicle. All known recalls (7) at that time had been completed on the vehicle (2022 Hyundai Palisade).

- #11771864October 17, 2026POWER TRAIN, SUSPENSION, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
I came to a complete stop at the stop sign and waited for several vehicles to pass on the street I needed to turn onto. I proceed to turn right but the vehicle stalled mid turn. The motor rev'd as I pressed the gas and made weird noises like the truck was stuck in neutral although it was in drive. The tires would not spin to propel me forward. I was stuck in the middle of the street. I shut the truck down for about a minute while flagging others to go around me then started the truck up again. The issue cleared. This has happened several times. Other times, the dashboard display completely blacked out and the drivemode button (eco vs sport vs comfort) changed on it's own and I was not able to manually change settings or get the dashboard to reappear or get the truck to move forward when placed in drive gear. I had to power cycle the truck to get it to work. Very unsafe to be stranded in the road. Dealership reported no trouble found, issue cannot be replicated. I also have suspension issues and reported power loss while driving. Please investigate.

- #11771535October 16, 2026POWER TRAIN, ENGINE
The vehicle experienced severe engine stalling and critically low oil levels that were officially documented by an authorized dealership well before 100,000 miles (at approximately 79,000 miles). Because this pre-existing condition remained unresolved under warranty, the engine ultimately failed and required a complete replacement at approximately 103,000 miles. Just 7,000 miles later, at 110,000 miles, the automatic transmission suffered a critical failure. The transmission severely shudders, spikes to excessively high RPMs, and refuses to shift properly through lower gears (gears 1 to 3). This causes sudden hesitation, loss of motive power, and violent jerking when accelerating and merging into active traffic, creating an imminent crash hazard. The manufacturer has refused repair assistance despite cascading powertrain defects that originated prior to 100,000 miles.

- #11771722October 16, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, UNKNOWN OR OTHER, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I am reporting a serious potential braking-system safety defect involving my 2024 Hyundai Palisade Night AWD. I experienced steering-wheel vibration when braking and an incident in which the brakes were extremely difficult to apply effectively, leaving me unable to stop in an emergency as needed. This created a serious risk of a collision and injury to me, my passengers, and others on the road. I am concerned that the vehicle’s braking system may not perform reliably when rapid or emergency stopping is required. My vehicle was serviced at Morrie’s 394 Hyundai in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Following an extended period of recall-related service beginning March 20, 2026, the vehicle was marked ready on July 3, 2026, under Repair Order #[XXX]. I subsequently brought the vehicle back on July 6, 2026, under Repair Order #[XXX], reporting rattling and grinding associated with driving and braking. The dealership documented resurfacing all four brake rotors. I am concerned that the steering-wheel vibration and serious difficulty stopping may indicate a braking problem that requires further investigation. The July service documentation references a “Vehicle Health Report With Video” and a completed vehicle health report. However, on October 16, 2026, the dealership verbally told me that no vehicle health diagnostic video was conducted on July 6 and that the only video was from March 23. The available portal screenshot identifies a video dated March 23, 2026. I am requesting review of the service records and clarification of what inspections and testing were actually performed. The exact mechanical cause of the braking symptoms is UNKNOWN to me. Although the dealership resurfaced all four rotors, I do not have documentation establishing the root cause of the symptoms or confirming that the braking concern was fully resolved. I request that NHTSA investigate whether this may represent a safety defect affecting the 2024 Hyundai Palisade or other similarly equipped vehicles INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF

- #11771191October 14, 2026STRUCTURE:BODY
The underbody factory gravel shield structurally failed and sheared along its molded stress lines under normal driving conditions. The part is fully available for physical inspection. This failure occurred silently without any prior warning lamps, messages, or symptoms, and was discovered by a technician during a routine maintenance oil change at 11,645 miles on August 5, 2026. The structural failure was visually confirmed by Wyatt Johnson Hyundai, but they refused to honor the warranty, and a subsequent corporate review by the manufacturer resulted in a final denial on October 7, 2026. Due to this two-month administrative delay, the unsecured component has progressively degraded and is now sagging dangerously low and dragging directly on the asphalt. This puts my safety and the safety of trailing traffic at extreme risk, as it acts as an aerodynamic scoop with an imminent threat of completely detaching at highway speeds, creating a severe road debris hazard. Furthermore, it leaves the engine bay and steering components completely unprotected from road debris.

Subject: Formal Safety Complaint and Request for Investigation – Hyundai Recall 283, Unsecured Infant Car Seat Following Recall Repair I am requesting that NHTSA investigate a serious child passenger safety incident following Hyundai Seat Belt Recall 283 performed on my 2024 Hyundai Palisade at Earnhardt Hyundai San Tan in [XXX], on XXX During the recall repair by the dealership, my infant granddaughter's rear-facing car seat was left completely unsecured. Its securing strap had been removed by the dealership from the car seat itself, with one end still attached to the vehicle's lower anchor and the remainder left underneath the seat. The car seat was returned to its normal position without any warning or notification. I unknowingly transported my granddaughter in this potentially life-threatening condition before discovering it on XXX. I am attaching my formal complaint emailed to dealership General Manager [XXX] and Service Director [XXX] on XXX, at 8:52 p.m. This email contains the full description, chronology, supporting evidence, and specific safety concerns. I also reported the incident to Hyundai USA by telephone on XXX (Case #XXX) and through Hyundai Motor America's online complaint system (Case #XXX). I request that NHTSA investigate the dealership's recall procedures, Hyundai's child restraint safety warnings, and whether similar failures could endanger other children. Please review my attached complaint and provide written acknowledgment and an NHTSA complaint reference number. "The vehicle is exhibiting a refueling safety defect due to EVAP venting failure. This is a known issue on Hyundai hybrid platforms. The dealership only tries to duplicate the issue and as it is intermittent has not been able to duplicate. I have a brand new vehicle that leaves me stranded at the pump every third or fourth time trying to refuel.

- #11770631October 12, 2026ENGINE, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The engine misfires and runs very rough when stopped in drive after highway driving, and the vehicle hesitates and struggles to accelerate from a stop. At about 3,000 miles, Phil Long, Colorado Springs diagnosed a failing cylinder 6 fuel injector and replaced it on 22 April 2025. The problem continues after that repair. The condition repeats in the same way. After 15 minutes to 1 hour of interstate driving, I exit the highway. When I stop at the first traffic light on the off ramp, the engine begins idling very rough, and the tachometer shows about 500 RPM. When I shift to park, the idle smooths out. When I shift back to drive, it becomes very rough again. Pulling away from the light is difficult because the vehicle hesitates and does not accelerate normally. This has happened three times since the repair, most recently on [XXX] at about 5,800 miles. The check engine light did not come on. Conditions: 80 F, clear weather. [XXX] exit [XXX]. This is a safety concern because the vehicle may not accelerate when I pull into an intersection or merge into traffic. Other 2026 Palisade owners have reported similar misfires and hesitation, and Hyundai issued TSB 26-01-068H (Service Campaign 9D6) for engine misfires on 2026 Palisade 3.5L vehicles. I have asked Hyundai to confirm whether this campaign has been performed on my vehicle. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- #11770447October 11, 2026VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ENGINE, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
On September 21, 2026, at approximately 9:20 AM, while attempting to turn off the engine of the parked vehicle, the engine failed to shut down as commanded. Due to severe ECM misfire and erratic anti-stall compensation, the engine surged uncontrollably and propelled the vehicle forward. The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) completely failed to detect the obstacle, alert the driver, or apply emergency braking, resulting in an unavoidable low-speed collision and slight front-end body damage. The following day, on September 22, 2026, at approximately 2:49 PM, the vehicle abruptly triggered a powertrain fail-safe mode in traffic, forcefully restricting speed to roughly 20 mph (limp-in mode), when my wife found it when trying to running faster from a STOP mode, to prevent catastrophic catalytic converter damage caused by persistent combustion misfires. It is impossible to be the wrong operation of my wife since limp-in mode cannot be activated during low speed running. On September 23, 2026, the vehicle was taken to an authorized Hyundai dealership to apply pending TSB 26-01-068H (Campaign 9D6). While the dealer completed the software update and reported no active DTCs remained afterward, Hyundai Motor America has flatly denied manufacturer liability for the property damage incurred directly prior to this safety remedy. Hyundai's ECM software logic flaw poses a critical safety risk involving unintended acceleration, complete shutdown failure, and active safety system non-intervention. I request NHTSA investigate this defect and Hyundai's refusal to remediate related incident damage.
