The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the rear cross track warning light was illuminated, and applied the brakes independently, causing the vehicle to independently steer to the right. The contact was able to regain control of the vehicle and continued driving. The contact stated he had experienced the failure a total of 5 times. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact stated he continued to experience the failure. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer and to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.

On my way home waiting for the green light the car would not respond to the accelerator.. the engine would rev up on the tachometer but would not move. Finally the engine responded and the car took off reaching 83mph in a matter of seconds. After release of the accelerator I was able to get the car under control. At the next traffic light even with my foot on the brake the vehicle lunged forward nearly striking the car in front. I put the car in neutral and was able to use neutral and low gear to get it back home...the car was towed to the dealership the next morning.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
The high beam does not work even after bulb replacement on the 2019 Elantra(the low beams work just fine). A sound of an actuator trying to work is heard coming from the engine with a slight flicker of light but no successful high beam is shown after engaging the high beam actuator on the wheel. This is detrimental to the safety of drivers at night which could lead to a crash, injury, or fatality.

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that after she had parked the vehicle in her residential driveway and had turned the vehicle off after shifting to park (P) she had noticed that the "vehicle in a skid" symbol was illuminated. The contact was in her residence when she began to smell a burning odor. The contact observed that white smoke was being emitted from under the hood. The contact stated that her father used a garden hose to attempt to cool the hood off but was unable to open the hood. The contact stated that the fire department was called, however the engine compartment had been engulfed in flames. The contact stated that the fire department arrived and the firemen had pried open the hood and extinguished the flames with water. The contact stated that the engine had been damaged and all plastic parts and hoses had been melted. The contact stated that fire had caused the air bags to deploy and had melted the dash board. The contact stated that the police arrived on scene and wrote an incident report. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been diagnosed and had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The contact had researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V800000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The failure mileage was 63,666.

The original car jack supplied with the vehicle failed. The jack is intended to be used in an emergency where the tire needs to be removed and replaced by the driver. The jack almost folded in half. The jack was installed correctly under the car. I had removed the damaged tire, and suddenly that end of the car had fallen. If I had been in the act of installing the spare tire I could have been severely injured by the falling car. I have the car jack and it can be inspected if you need it to be.

My right rear brake has a short in the wire. It goes on and off where I hit bumps in the road. I have tried replacing and nothing works. My car was broke into and steering column was busted. They person who broke into my car was able to put a USB port onto the ignition and start my car.

First of all suspension has a noise when going over speed bumps or bumps on the road have taking it to dealer they say they cant find nothing. And the transmission has a pop noise from time to time they say at the dealer that is due to the DCT transmission but it hasn’t stop doing it plus a loud noise when you stop and go. They say there is no recall. Very disappointed with this tranny.

The car was driven by my family. They narrowly missed a collision with another automobile. The breaks went out. The car was taken to a repair garage and, upon inspection, found the break line was rusted completely into allowing the break fluid to escape. I had the car towed to a Hyundai dealer in Clearwater Florida and got the same report. Hyundai has a service recall for underbody corrosion and has recalled nearly 300,000 vehicles in Canada to replace this problem. But now Hyundai is telling me this isn’t covered by them. This is a server safety problem with no brakes and a possible gas line explosion. I would like this problem correct before possible lives are destroyed. I hav email correspondence to back up this claim. Hyundai case number [XXX]. MARCH 14, 2023 — A Hyundai brake line recall involves more than 295,000 vehicles because the brake lines under the vehicles can corrode, fail and leak brake fluid. A driver may suddenly find out their brakes aren't working correctly, or maybe not at all. The current Hyundai brake line recall has been announced for Canada only and includes these models and model years. 2011-2016 Hyundai Elantra 2011-2016 Hyundai Equus 2009-2014 Hyundai Genesis 2010-2016 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2013-2018 Hyundai Santa Fe 2010-2011 Hyundai Tucson 2012-2017 Hyundai Veloster Transport Canada didn't announce more details about the brake line leak recall, and to date a Hyundai brake line recall has not been announced for U.S. vehicle owners. Hyundai didn't say when the brake fluid leak recall will begin, but Hyundai dealerships will inspect the underbody brake lines and apply an anti-corrosion treatment. However, it's possible Hyundai may need to replace the brake lines. The door opening mechanism in both the drivers door and the right rear passenger door continually does not allow the door to open resulting in the driver and passenger becoming trapped in the vehicle, and often does not allow opening of the door to enter the vehicle. I and my passengers have been trapped within the vehicke several times where we unsuccessfully tried to use the cars unlock button, the key fob, the key, and even the manual lock levers in conjunction with either the inside or outside door levers. It is dangerous to be trapped inside a vehicle and so i believe this issue should be corrected by a manufacturers recall

When slowing down to turn or stop the vehicle would stutter and stall. It would not give an active code when checked, only historical for cam position sensor error. Found that it was low on oil but no signs of a leak. After an oil change and replacing the sensor the stalling seemed to improve, but it is still losing oil quickly. Purchased the car a few months ago with about 70k miles on it. After reviewing the car it seems to be a common problem, and nothing is being done to address it. Hyundai will not warranty the car since we are not the original owners, despite being within their warranty period.

Rear passenger doors will not open from inside or outside. Only will open occasionally after repeatedly pulling aggressively. Or getting into back seat to push on the cable within door handle. It is a safety hazard to get my kids out of the back seat.

AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The airbag light is on and no fuses are out and cruise control and other buttons on steering wheel is not working. If airbags are faulty or do not deploy it is a huge safety concern. Someone could be killed or extremely hurt. It has not been confirmed by a dealer but willing to take it in to be checked. It has not been checked yet by a professional. My warning lamps have been on for about two weeks now.

Vehicles with the same year and model have been recalled due to thermostats issue. I am experiencing an issue exactly like other that have had recall have experienced. My engine overheated causing my vehicle to shut down. Smoke was coming from engine oil tank. I called Hyundai and they are advising me that my particular model has not been recalled although I'm experiencing the exact issue of what was recalled for other vehicles with the same year and model.
