The driver side rear-view mirror vibrates any time i am traveling over 40-50 mph. This makes it extremely hard to see what is happening behind me. This is a huge problem while at high way speeds and it needs to be rectified immediately.

The contact owns a 2023 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH and following the highway around a slight left curve, the contact attempted to return the steering wheel to the center and the steering had become difficult to return to center. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to a dealer. The service manager went on a test drive with the contact and experienced the failure. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact returned to the residence and then drove to another local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the steering failure had become a recurring failure. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: EA23003 (Steering). The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.

- #11563953January 6, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, EXTERIOR LIGHTING
This hybrid model does not display red brake lights during regenerative braking, at any of the settings. I have have had two occurrences where the driver behind me was apparently not aware that my vehicle was slowing somewhat rapidly, and thus nearly drive into the back of my vehicle. One of those drivers mentioned that they did not see any brake lights even though I was slowing down, approaching an intersection. I can see how this might be a safety issue. IF Tesla can have this function on their cars software then why cannot Honda? My vehicle also has times when I am travelling on straight city streets with no traffic in front of me, where the automatic emergency braking come on quite firmly for a second or two, without any apparent reason. Again, this presents a possible safety hazard to the vehicles behind me who may be following a little closer than they should, and may possible drive in to the back of my vehicle. Again, I am not aware of any brake lights present on my vehicle when this happens. A big improvement would be in the manner in which the radar sees things and makes false applications of this braking system, as well as having teh vehicle brake lights activate when this system decides to engage.

The steering has become “Sticky”. It almost feels like it gets locked into place for about 10 seconds and then will release and will repeat this same process over and over. When the car is completely off, you can move the steering wheel and it almost feels like a rack and pinion issue. This has been going on for about 6 months. It doesn’t matter the speed you are driving at, you can feel it “catching” anytime. My husband has a 2023 Honda Accord and has no steering issues, so it’s definitely noticeable when I drive my vehicle vs driving his car. I drive on a very windy road to and from work everyday, and I worry that an accident will occur if this issue isn’t resolved. Which also brings me to worry, if it is resolved, do I have to worry about this arising in the future?

Steering the vehicle became difficult. It would feel catchy or sticking which would lead to oversteer. Honda dealer service manager performed test drive and determined vehicle is unsafe to drive.

When driving about 30mph the steering wheel begins to “stick” and has some resistance when steering. Subtle now, but fear it may get worse .

There is an intermittent problem when making slight adjustments to steering. It feels like the steering wheel is slightly "catching on something" or the steering is not smooth. It happens when the vehicle is moving and stationary. The dealer could not feel it. They only said that since it is electronically controlled steering, it is not going to be smooth. I could not believe this and I am worried that it could become worse or something could completely fail in the future. The problem was not present upon purchase of the vehicle, but began after about 5000 miles.

I got in the car this morning and noticed what looked like a condensation drip at the top of my passenger side mirror. By the time I got to work, a full length crack was down the mirror. I pulled my cameras and nothing touched my mirror over night. I did a google search and others are reporting similar issues. this has a direct affect on visibility while driving. Given other complaints found this is a known issue, then Honda needs to do a recall.

When steering along long curves on the highway and then trying to straighten the steering wheel, the steering wheel will feel stuck and take a bit more force to overcome the position it gets stuck at before being able to be straightened out. Adding this amount of force to overcome the stuck steering wheel causes the car to swerve slightly. This typically is observed on sweeping curves to the right. Appears to follow NHTSA inv #EA23003

On a drive back and forth to Florida from New Jersey the steering seemed to “stick” every so often during highway driving. Almost like the power steering was turned off. With a little additional effort I was able to continue steering but definitely something wasn’t right. I’m very familiar with lane departure and Lane assist features on this vehicle and both of those were not turned on when this was occurring.

During routine driving at all speeds the steering wheel will randomly move between 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch causing a slight movement of the car. Took car to Honda dealership and was advised that the EPS rack is bad. Car has approximately 15,000 miles and has no accident history. My concern is that, according to the dealer, is that the replacement parts will not be available for several months. I was advised that they have another customer with the same issue that was identified in October and the part is due to arrive in April. I was advised that the car is safe to drive, however my concern is it will get progressively worse in the six months it will take the replacement part to arrive. At what point does a known steering issue become unsafe?

On December 10th 2023 I was involved in an accident that I believe was caused by a defect in the vehicle. I was traveling at night with low visibility due to rain on an old country road with no street lights. I was rear ended while making a right turn and at the time did not think much about it as far as how it happened. I just assumed the driver that hit me was just not paying attention. While on side of the road I heard the driver tell his dad that it was not his fault that I just slammed on brakes in front of him. I was like whatever, you were just not paying attention. A few days later I got to thinking about it, I was using B mode in the transmission along with the paddle shifters to increase the regenerative braking capabilities. The regenerative braking is strong enough to slow the car down almost to a complete stop. While in this mode I only have to apply the brake pedal when I am very close to a turn. So to any driver behind me it would appear that I slammed on brakes right at my turn, even though they were applied the whole time I was slowing down using the regenerative braking of the car. The car is still drivable at least for a road test so I had someone follow me around to see if there were brake lights displayed during regenerative braking. After one short drive I found out the 2023 CRV Hybrid DOES NOT display brake lights during any use of regenerative braking. I tried B mode in the transmission, Sport mode, and the paddle shifters. At no point did the brake lights come on. To see if this was just an issue with my car I went to the local dealership on December 28th and test drove a 2024 CRV Hybrid and it also DID NOT display any brake lights. To see if it was a Honda issue in general or a model issue I test drove a 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid and IT DOES display brake lights in all forms of regenerative braking. This is an issue with 2023-2024 CRV Hybrid SUVs. I have filed a complaint with Honda as well.
