I was driving today and for no reason at all the cars anti collision system automatically braked hard and could have caused an accident if someone was driving behind me. There was no one, objects or vehicles around my car at the time that would cause it to happen.

I BOUGHT MY CAR IN SEPT 2024 THROUGH CARVANA RIGHT AWAY I NOTICED THE STEERING WAS STICKY SO I BROUGHT IT TO A DEALERSHIP IN JAN 2025 AND WHEN I TOLD HIM THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG W/ MY STEERING THAT IT WOULD KIND OF STICK WHEN TURNING HE SAID IT WAS A RECALL AND THEY WOULD FIX IT FOR FREE SO THEY 'FIXED' IT AND AFTER I PICKED IT UP IT WAS STILL DOING IT, WELL NOW I BRING IT BACK AND THEY TELL ME I NEED A NEW STEERING RACK, ON A 2022 HONDA CIVIC SPORT, ARE YOU SERIOUS? AND THAT IT WILL COST $3700.00. SO THE DEALERSHIP DID CONFIRM I NEED A NEW STEERING RACK, THE STEERING ALWAYS STUCK SINCE I BOUGHT IT I DIDNT NOTICE IT WHEN I FIRST DROVE IT BECAUSE IT STARTS AFTER THE CAR IS WARMED UP LIKE THE FIRST 10 OR 15 MILES ITS OK THEN IT STARTS STICKING. I HAD JUST READ ON A SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM THAT QUITE A FEW PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM AND THEY SAID THEY FILED A COMPLAINT W/NHTSA AND YOU GUYS WERE DOING AN INVESTIGATION SO I THOUGHT I WOULD FILE A COMPLAINT AS WELL

Honda issued a recall for the fuel pump system. Initially, when the recall came out, I contacted them about the recall they stated that the parts were on back order and they had a waiting list of people who were supposed to be serviced first. It took about five months for the parts to come back into stock and another month for me to get an appointment. Now I’m continuing to have issues with my fuel line

While driving the dash showed a "12 volt battery charging system problem." Continued to drive to a safe location roughly a mile down the road and while enroute all the error lights illuminated and proceeded to state "Tire Pressure Monitor Problem" "Brake System Problem" "Brake Hold System Problem" "Power Steering Problem" and a couple others I don't recall. I lost my power steering while driving and my wipers proceeded to stop working, in a downpour. Contacted AAA who came and ran diagnostics which showed the alternator was dead. I then had to have my vehicle towed instead of driving it to work.

- #11665402June 6, 2025STEERING, WHEELS, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
Found out the my car has a recall last december 2024. I drove to my dealership and told them about it. they said they dont have available parts for the recall in my car and the service advisor I talked to was told me that they have the parts for the recall but they prioritize the newer car so that they can sell it. then I called the manufacturer and let them know what the dealership was told me. 2 days later the manufacturer called me and said that they contacted my dealership and letting me know that they were be able to fix my car about the safety recall. but after I drove my car to my dealership and got it fixed and its all good as they said, but when I drove my car nothing change and its gets more difficult to control the steering wheel until now. most drivers thinks I'm drunk and keep their distance away from my car. then I brought my car back to the dealership and told them about it and they said they already done the repaired and got it fix but the repaired seems unsuccessful.

This has been an in going issue. While driving the steering sticks as you try to make small movements to get the car straight. This is especially noticeable at highway speeds and can cause you to over correct on the sticking releases. I have seen multiple reports of this issue in several different places with most stating that Honda has been unwilling to help. There was a recall on the newer models just recently but nothing for the 2018 Honda Civic. This is a very dangerous issue making driving the car safety risk. I had my independent shop state this seems to be a steering box issue that would cost over $4000 to fix with original Honda parts.

The steering system randomly but frequently has an issue where it “sticks” when going straight down the road, requiring excessive pressure to make minor adjustments to remain in the lane. This causes the car to jerk and the steering to “oversteer” while to trying to maintain the lane. It is available for inspection upon request. My safety and others are put at risk because the issue makes it difficult to remain in the lane while going down the road. When the wheel “sticks” it causes the car to jump/jerk abruptly and sometimes causes the car to leave the lane because of the excessive effort required to “get through” the sticking. This is EXTREMELY dangerous at highway speeds. I had another recall done on the car (fuel pump) and mentioned it to the service manager who noted on the invoice that they could feel the “sticking” feeling and recommended steering rack replacement to correct the issue. The car has not been inspected by Honda, the police or anybody else. There are no warning lamps or active fault codes. The issue was present when I purchased the car at around 80,000 miles and is still present at 123,000 miles. I also had a 2016 Honda Civic that had the same exact issue, starting at around 25,000 miles and lasting until I traded it in at around 80,000 miles. The dealer was never able to replicate the issue when I took the car in to have the issue corrected under warranty so they could never repair the issue. I’ve done intensive research on others having the same issue and there are a LOT of others having this same exact issue on the 10th generation (2015-2023) Honda Civic.

When driving at high speeds (60+ mph) for longer distances (10+ miles), the steering wheel becomes "sticky". When minor adjustments are attempted, the steering wheel will resist turning until a significant amount of force is applied, then it will suddenly "unstick" causing overcorrection. This makes it difficult maintain lane safely. No warning lights active. Inspected by manufacturer and they could not reproduce, however they may not have driven it at high speeds for long enoug.

While driving my Honda civic 2017, a loud static noise suddenly started coming from the vehicle’s audio system or speakers. The noise is persistent and does not stop unless I turn off the vehicle completely. This creates a significant distraction and could interfere with hearing emergency vehicles or other road sounds. This issue occurs randomly and is a serious safety concern.

Steering sticks at highway speeds, hard to maintain center of lane. Waiting to get pulled over for suspected drunk driving, which never am. Wife won't drive the car because of this issue. Honda has issued recall for this issue but only 2022-2024 and needs to be at least to 2016 models. Due to price of the electric rack and pinions for civic, unable to purchase one to install myself.

So according to Honda Service Bulletin 20-030, all honda civic 2012-2015 hybrids having IMA Motor Power Inverter (MPI) have to fixed. I have the SAME CAR, SAME MODEL, SAME YEAR AND SAME ERROR CODES AS THE SERVICE BULLETIN AND THIS IS SUCH A SERIOUS ELECTRICAL POWER INVERTER ISSUE. Yet HONDA IS denying to work on it, even though there is 15 years or 150,000 miles warranty for this specific issue and MY CAR HAS 95000 miles. Yet HONDA is trying to run away from fixing it by claiming the VIN number is not associating whereby MY CAR IS EXACT SAME AS THE MODEL, year and issue for the GIVEN SERVICE BULLETIN. This is complete absurd and consumer rights are being thrown away by Honda. I am very sure that my United States NHTSA, state consumer protection, federal trade commission, all are going to help me and make Honda pay for this. I have attached the service bulletin and here my error codes on the car: P1437 Motor Drive Module (MDM) Short Circuit POA78 Tmu-L Motor Power Inverter Module Internal Circuit Malfunction P15A5 Motor Current Sensor Circuit Malfunction Clear Confirmed & Pending Trouble Codes 2 Pending Trouble Codes POA78 Tmu-L Motor Power Inverter Module Internal Circuit Malfunction P15A5 Motor Current Sensor Circuit Malfunction Clear Confirmed & Pending Trouble Codes ^ ^ 2 Permanent Trouble Codes POA78 P15A5 Motor Current Sensor Circuit Malfunction Tmu-L Motor Power Inverter Module Internal Circuit Malfunction
