Numerous complaints and visits to the Honda dealer and phone calls to American Honda, About the stereo system in my 2017 Honda Accord, while driving the radios abruptly cuts off and starts making extremely loud static noise, even after turning the system off the static persists with no way to shut it off without having to turning the car off or pulling over to remove the fuse that powers the system. I try buying a new stereo system from the dealer at extremely high price but the radios have been on back order for over 2 years. And an after market system will be extremely labor intensive and having to make major modifications. I bought the car new and been driving the car without the radio for 2 years. Please help.

The problem I am having with my vehicle Honda accord 2018 is with the head gasket. I was on the highway and as I was driving suddenly all the signs came on the display and gave a warning that my vehicle is overheating and it came down to 20mph while I was on the highway. This was very risky to me and the other vehicle around me.

When the car reaches operating temperature slowly a static noise will creep over the speakers and then quickly cut out the audio input and put the speakers to full volume with waves of loud static. Turning off the stereo and turning down the volume does nothing to stop the static. The only way to stop it is to pull the radio fuse. This will also happen on a hot day and not slowly build just suddenly loud static as soon as the car turns on. This is a safety risk because the sound is so loud and distracting it’s hard to focus on everything going on around you and in order to pull the fuse out to stop it you need to pull over and it’s not always in a safe location. When I called and asked the Honda dealership in Stockton CA about it they were familiar with the problem when I described it to them but it has not been replicated in my car specifically by a separate party. No inspection was performed by police or other. There were no lights or warning when it first occurred. The problem first occurred in June when the weather started to get hot. I tried installing the fuse again now that it’s cold and it happened again once the car got to operating temperature.

VSA Modulator on Honda has failed. This is a defective part but Honda has not recalled. This is a vital safety issue and can cause brakes to lock. Honda refuses to acknowledge defect and will not replace the part free of charge.

Head gasket blown at very low mileage. Roughly a little more than 80,000 miles on them and head gasket was blown. Car went to Limp mode and caused a safety concern while trying to get to a safe location. The problem has been confirmed by a mechanic and all the lights on the dash lit up at once

The steering is "jerky" and stiff. The LKAS is OFF and so is sport mode. I've had this same issue on a previous Honda and the steering gear box needed to be replaced. It feels very unsafe to drive like this. I have attempted to take it to the dealership already and they state they do not feel it and the vehicle is performing as designed. It's still persistent to the point I almost side swiped someone on the freeway today from the sudden jerk while trying to keep straight. I will be taking it back to the dealership ASAP

Within 48 hours of taking possession, the vehicle suffered a blown head gasket, a catastrophic mechanical failure that constitutes a pre-existing latent defect—a serious condition that existed prior to the sale but was not disclosed to me. This defect renders the vehicle unsafe, inoperable, and unfit for its intended use. Claims that I did not purchase the optional 2-day cooling-off period or that the vehicle is covered under a manufacturer warranty are legally irrelevant. Under California Civil Code §§ 1791.1 & 1792 (Implied Warranty of Merchantability), a dealer is obligated to sell a vehicle that: 1.Is safe and operable at the time of sale 2.Is fit for ordinary driving purposes 3.Does not contain major latent defects that make the vehicle unsafe, inoperable, or unusable immediately after purchase The presence of a pre-existing latent defect is a direct violation of these provisions. The manufacturer warranty does not excuse the sale of a vehicle with a defect that existed at the time of purchase. I am therefore demanding, without delay: 1.Immediate rescission of the sales contract by Raceway Nissan 2.Full refund of all funds paid, including deposits and trade-in credits 3.Coordination with Valley Strong Credit Union to fully rewind the auto loan, including principal, interest, fees, and any other charges 4.Confirmation that I will have no financial obligations related to this purchase once the rescission is completed

The stereo amplifier emits a god awful, deafening static noise soon after start my car, so I can't listen to the radio, hear or talk to anyone. This has been going on for months and hasn't let up. It's very expensive for the honda dealer to fix, that I cannot afford right now, because they have to install a near stereo unit. Right now, I drive around with ear plugs and this should be considered a safety issue because I can't hear while the ear piercing static noise is on at the highest volume (there's no way to turn it down...even with the stereo off). I've owned lots of older model cars and none have ever had this issue with the stereo amplifier, so I feel this is a manufacturing defect for it to fail after 10 years. I've researched this issue online and I'm not the only one complaining about this for the 2016 Honda accord.

I purchased this used vehicle. I have never received any recall information on this vehicle. The electric power steering system, tire pressure and the vehicle stability Assist indicators lit up after a successful vehicle inspection was conducted Thursday 11132025. A 2023 recall, identified by the NHTSA AS 23V-430, covers the issue and requires dealerships to replace the VSA modulator. I contacted the dealership and they told me they could not assist.

Car has lost power or gone into "limp mode" while driving on multiple occasions. Car was never listed under the fuel pump recall but had all associated symptoms & problems. Had to have fuel pumps replaced in December 2023 due to car not starting because of faulty fuel pumps. Car has been properly maintenced since purchased brand new in February 2018. currently around 121,000 miles. Car overheated this past summer, Coolant seems to be leaking somewhere as just filled with coolant month ago and needed to refill with about quarter to refill to correct amount. Oil also seems to be having slow leakage problem somewhere within the engine as there is excessive oil on drip pan. Had all 4 spark plugs changed in March of 2025. Car has been going into limp mode and looses power for few seconds to minutes sometimes, almost causing multiple accidents while driving on highways. Pull over to shut off and give few minutes to restart and able to resume driving No warnings before this occurs. Randomly all dashboard lights light up 2 weeks ago and put car into limp mode, was driving on highway at high rate of speed (65mph) safety was compromised several times while this occurs. Engine seems create knocking sounds to known due to oil dilution problem. Cold weather seems to affect issues to onset more often. Also been having stalled or rough start ups in colder weather or when engine is not warmed up. Researching these issues seems to be that 2018 Honda Accords had known head gasket failure. This should become a class action lawsuit and also a recall

I am reporting a safety-related issue on my 2021 Honda Accord Hybrid involving a failure of the heating and climate control system. The vehicle is unable to produce heat or properly defrost the windshield, which significantly reduces visibility in cold weather. This directly impacts safe operation during winter conditions and should be considered a safety concern rather than a comfort issue. A Honda dealership diagnosed the problem as a heater core failure. The heater core itself is approximately $150, but the repair requires extensive disassembly and is estimated at nearly $2,000 due to labor. This type of failure should not occur on a vehicle this new. I recently purchased the car and do not believe this is normal wear or maintenance. Honda was contacted and denied goodwill assistance, stating they have no record of other complaints. I have since found similar reports from other Accord owners experiencing heating failures, particularly on hybrid models. This failure prevents windshield defogging and makes the vehicle unsafe for winter driving. I am documenting this issue with NHTSA so that the safety implications of heater failure on this model can be formally reviewed. I can provide the dealer diagnostic report, repair estimate, and Honda case number upon request. Vehicle Details: 2021 Honda Accord Hybrid EX VIN: [XXX] Mileage at failure: 47000 Date diagnosed: 11/13/25 Location: Salinas, CA Please advise if additional documentation is needed. On October 3, 2025, at approximately 1:00-1:30 PM, I was driving southbound on the Hardy Toll Road in the far-left lane on my way to a friend's house. Road conditions were dry, and it was a bright, sunny day. While driving, I noticed something felt unusual with my vehicle. Other vehicles began passing me, so I checked my side-view mirror to see if there was an issue with my rear wheel, but I did not observe anything. When I looked forward again, there were no vehicles directly in front of me. Suddenly, my car locked up, and the word "BRAKE" appeared on the dashboard. My vehicle immediately began veering sharply to the right. While veering, my vehicle was struck on the passenger side (T-boned) by another vehicle. The impact caused me to collide with the guard rail, strike a freeway sign, and ultimately crash into the tree line near the water off the roadway.

This is the SECOND TIME I am reporting this same issue with my accord. I see there is now a recall but I need this to be on file as I can't continue owning this vehicle if this continues. This is a SCARY situation when you are behind the whell. On 10/30/25, I was 60 miles into a trip and the car lost all power on a major highway. While almost being rear ended by cars in the left lane, I was able to get to the shoulder. Dashboard lit up with numerous error messages. (see photos). I was able to shut the car down and restart. Upon restart, the Brake System light stayed on the remaining trip 50 miles home. BRAKE SYSTEM - Brake system problem. Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer. I took it in for Service and upon urging them that this was a bigger issue, they told me it was because I don't drive the car enough and it was a battery issue. Very frustrating.
