Car suddenly stopped accelerating and became very unsafe and unable to be driven. Car has approx 100,000 miles but just was inspected (3/2026) and has been well maintained. It has been serviced at Honda service centers (Honda City and Advantage Honda) as well as my private mechanic. Private mechanic diagnosed the issue as faulty fuel injector citing code: P 303. I completed the fuel pump recalled repair at Advantage Honda dealership on March 22, 2023.

The ABS/Brake warning lights have lighted up on my instrument panel. It appears that the ABS/VSA module is bad. I do not see a recall for this from Honda but after doing further research, I have learned that this is a known problem for 9th generation Honda Accords. This leaves the vehicle without the anti-lock brake system working. Brakes still engage, but no ABS. This puts driver and any passengers at risk. The dealer acknowledges the known issue but wants over $3k for the repair. Faulty ABS modules are a great liability and put drivers and their passenger at risk of injury and/or death. I am asking that the NHTSA seriously look into this matter and make Honda take accountability for this know issue they are fully aware of.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving 80 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly lost motive power and stalled with several unknown warning lights illuminated. Additionally, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart; however, there was a cranking sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure had reoccurred several times while driving. A mobile mechanic inspected the vehicle and cleared the warning lights. The mobile mechanic retrieved DTC: P0078 (Fuel rail pressure failure). The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was later taken to the dealer, but it was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was informed that the failure could not be duplicated and that no fault codes were found. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 97,000.

The digitizer in my car's infotainment system malfucntions every time the car is on. It changes what is showing on the screen, what is playing from the speakers, etc. The system acts like a ghost is touching it. There have been times where I am driving and my navigation map is showing, but my screen changes to a different screen, or zooms out to a completely different part of the world, not allowing me to follow the navigation guidance and causing a safety issue. This used to only happen during hot weather, but now it is all the time. It gets worse with each passing day, making the system almost completely unusable. Sometimes the audio input will cycle between am/fm/bluetooth several times in a minute. It's frustrating and distracting while driving. It is a common issue I've seen in other posts all over the internet and is reproducible if inspected.

I am writing to formally report a recurring and serious mechanical issue involving the head gasket in the 2018 Honda Accord equipped with the 1.5L turbocharged engine. This issue appears to be widespread and poses both safety and financial concerns for vehicle owners. In my experience, the vehicle began exhibiting symptoms consistent with head gasket failure at relatively low mileage. These symptoms included unexplained coolant loss, engine overheating, white exhaust smoke, rough engine performance, and in some cases misfires. Upon inspection and diagnosis, the root cause was identified as a failed or failing head gasket. This failure is particularly concerning because it occurs prematurely and without warning, despite regular maintenance and responsible vehicle use. A head gasket is a critical engine component, and such failures can lead to severe engine damage, sudden loss of power, and unsafe driving conditions—especially if overheating occurs while the vehicle is in motion. Additionally, the cost of repair is substantial, often ranging from several thousand dollars, placing an unexpected financial burden on owners. Many drivers, including myself, rely on these vehicles for daily transportation, and this defect undermines the reliability that is expected from a modern vehicle. There is growing evidence through consumer reports, online forums, and mechanic feedback that this is not an isolated incident but rather a pattern affecting multiple 2018 Honda Accord 1.5L vehicles. The consistency of these reports suggests a potential design or manufacturing defect related to the engine or head gasket system. Given the safety implications and frequency of occurrence, I respectfully request that the NHTSA investigate this issue further to determine whether a recall or manufacturer accountability action is warranted. Addressing this defect would help prevent further financial hardship and reduce the risk of unsafe driving conditions for affected vehicle owners.

I experienced repeated stalling, loss of drive power while on the highway, limp mode, and all dashboard warning lights over several years. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Honda dealership multiple times and specifically asked whether these symptoms were related to the known fuel pump recall. Each time I was told the recall was not the cause. I was also told recall parts were unavailable or delayed. Based on dealership misdiagnoses, I paid out of pocket for multiple repairs including spark plugs and ignition coils which they claimed were the reason for my car acting up, that did not resolve the issue. Among other repairs I did on my own like replace the battery twice and what not. I have since received Honda’s official recall notice confirming that a faulty fuel pump causes the exact symptoms I reported. My vehicle is now completely inoperable it does not start and cannot be driven or transported. I have filed two claims with Honda Corporate, both denied based on mileage. I believe the vehicle’s failure is a direct result of Honda’s failure to address the recall in a timely manner and the dealership’s repeated misdiagnosis.

When driving the car the first time this happened on April 19, 2026 I excellerated after stop light to cross a highway. That is when the car started sputtering and the check engine light started flashing it would only go 5 miles per hour, I then pulled to the side of the highway turned the car off restarted the car check engine light was then turned off I excelerated. The check engine light started flashing again, the car would not proceed again. The second time this happened was April 21, 2026, we had not had the problem happen for a couple days so I drove it again got to the stop light and excellerated again and the same problem happened. We are now not driving the vehicle. I looked up to see if there was a recall on the 2019 Honda Accord my vin number did not come up. However the statement your organization has put out is “Nearly” all 2019 Honda Accords have been affected by this recall. This is the only car we have and we cannot get it fixed. Please help me

My car had extended crank, shaking/jerking while driving, engine failed and cut off in traffic. Tried to restart extended crank, still shaking/jerking while driving, sparking in the engine and engine failed and cut off in traffic. I was terrified didn't know if the car was going to be on fire when I heard the spark in the engine on the highway. Not only did this failure of the part put myself in danger but others on the road in danger as well. Other drivers was trying to get around me without causing an accident especially when my car was shaking/jerking. I had my car towed to the Honda dealership service center. The technician called and told me my fuel pump had failed.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle either hesitated or stalled with the "Emissions System Fault", "Engine Power Reduced", "See your Dealer" messages displayed. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline), and the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be repaired under the recall. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer approximately six times after the recall repair. The spark plugs, ignition coils, and turbo charger were replaced after several visits; however, failure persisted. The vehicle was also taken to an independent mechanic, and the battery was replaced but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the wiring harness and head gasket needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a case number, but offered no additional assistance. The vehicle remained with the dealer unrepaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Infotainmeny system receives multiple fals touches and switches to other screens and functions with no direct input from me the driver. This is very distracting and also dangerous as the issue also interfears with navigation, it will turn is off and switch destinations without any input. This issue has occured since i have had the car in 2022, it only keeps getting worse. This is a very distracting issue to have, it is unsafe and Honda needs to come up with a solution, i have seen this reported by hundreds of people online, this tells me that there are likely thousands of cars out there doing the same, but the people do not know how to report it.

I own a 2010 Honda Accord. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerks, and fails to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal on the hwy. The check engine warning light VSA is on. In 2022, I had Honda replace the engine, However, just after the warrenty expired, I started to experince the same issues. The vehicle has been sitting since 2023, and so I have it in the shop now (2026). He has replaced the spark plugs but there is misfire code for cylindars 1 and 2. The mechanic states that it's an engine issue. The vehicle was had been diagnosed and repaired on multple occassions. A scanner has been used mutiple times to retrieved a code for a misfire in the engine. Replaced the engine, time and chain, spark plugs, catalac converter, ignition coil. Mileage is 165,000
