Honda accord 1.5L engine had a blown head gasket at 94,000 miles. Local mechanic has advised that this engine has been an issue with blowing head gaskets early. Took it to dealership and they confirmed head gasket leaking. Was driving on highway and car went into limp mode and all the dash lights came on and car lost acceleration.

All of the warning lights on my dashboard are on causing the car to loose power while driving. According to the dealership and other Honda owners they have this same issue. Why is my car not showing any recalls when clearly this is a manufacturing issue with a lot of Hondas. Dealership is telling me at least $3000 to repair

1. Head gasket and turbo system 2. I was driving on the highway at 55mph and the front end of the car started to shake so I pulled over to inspect the car as best I could. 3. The Honda dealer did a diagnostic for my AC $450 and $200 for the hazard lights. I was told my AC needed to be charged and then the prices to replace my head gasket, turbo and coolant flush for a total of 10k. 4. All of the warning light came on in the vehicle as I was driving and my AC started to blow warm air June 29, 2026.

My 2021 Honda Accord Sport has had a problem that started about 30k miles which I told them about 3 times. The sun visors do not stay up. they hang down and you have to move them out of the way. I tried to get the dealer to replace them, but they said I was past the warranty, and I was going to be changed about 400.00 per visor. I kept messing with them and finally it got a little better. But did not last. I told them again, but I could not, and would not spend over 800.00 for sun visors. Id do without them before paying 800.00! Used to they were simple made and no problems. But now they have mechanisms inside that have parts that wear out. Because Honda would not replace them, and Bell Honda would not either, I will not buy another care from Bell Honda. As when I bout my 2014 Nissan in [XXX], then moved to [XXX] I took my car to Nissan on Bell, and for the first time ever, before the Honda did it, a sun visor stopped functioning right in my Altima, but because I took my car there for services, the dealership replaced it for me. Now today, searching for new visors, I found that many people are having problems with the Honda visors, and saying it is a safety issues, and one person said their dealer replaced theirs 2 times. With all the complaints you'd think Honda would have to change the way they are made. But seems they don't care. In-fact, before my car had 40k miles, one of my motor mounts went out, and something else before that. Thankfully my motor warranty was still good. But these expansive, poorly made sun visors really should be recalled as it is a safety issue. Please do something to make that happen. Thank you! This is reoccurring from 2023-2026. First of all started with small coolant missing, later on I started noticing power loss and finally white smoke out the exhaust. Blown Head Gasket. Honda need to own up on defect engine design the ford did awhile back. Those slits between the cylinder was a big mistake. I myself is doing the repair. 2021 Honda Accord Sport 2.0 with mods and tuned

My Engine is overheating, cannot drive the car at all. There is Coolant loss and leaking into the cylinder. It is Rough running and misfires: no matter when I start the Honda whether a fold start or not it is chunky and wants to give out. There is Loss of power which makes my car feel sluggish and is very dangerous as I’m driving myself, children and family on the freeways of St. Louis. I have never had any other issue and maintained the maintenance on the car. Honda dealership wants 6k to start fixing it. Could be more after they get into it.

I was driving an interstate freeway with my cruise on set to 75mph while passing a truck, both the truck and I were in are respective lanes and neither of us was straddling the lane divider. Suddenly the orange brake light came on the dash and the car braked hard without any input from me. The braking was so hard it pushed me forward twice and caused my seat belt to lockup.

I am reporting a premature and dangerous failure of the engine head gasket on my 2019 Honda Accord Sport (1.5L Turbo engine, 68,220 miles). While driving, the vehicle suddenly lost power due to severe engine misfires. Simultaneously, the dashboard experienced a total cascade of safety system failures, illuminating warning lights for the Check Engine Light, Electric Parking Brake, Traction Control (VSA), Road Departure Mitigation, and Adaptive Cruise Control. The vehicle currently in the authorized honda dealer where technicians officially diagnosed a blown head gasket leaking coolant into Cylinder 3. This is a widespread, well-documented manufacturing defect with Honda's 1.5L Turbo engines. I request that the NHTSA launch a formal safety investigation into American Honda for these premature head gasket failures to force a mandatory safety recall.

A loss of power while driving on the freeway created a dangerous situation and nearly caused an accident. The issue was diagnosed by the Honda dealer as a misfire of the 3rd cylinder due to a head gasket failure and a fuel injector issue. No other symptoms were detected as this appeared suddenly at the worst possible time.

I own a 2018 Honda Accord LX 1.5T. The vehicle has developed an intermittent hard-start condition after sitting overnight. The engine cranks for approximately 5–6 seconds before starting and runs very rough for the first 2–5 seconds before smoothing out. Warm restarts are normal. While driving, the vehicle hesitates and stumbles during acceleration, is slow to build RPM, and fuel economy has noticeably decreased. During one hard acceleration event, the vehicle lost power and the check engine light flashed. I also observed that if I turn the ignition on and allow the fuel pump to prime for several seconds before starting the engine, the vehicle starts noticeably quicker than if I start it immediately. This makes me concerned that the fuel system may not be maintaining proper fuel pressure after the vehicle sits. Because of the hard starting, hesitation, intermittent loss of power during acceleration, and the improvement after allowing the fuel pump to prime, I am submitting this complaint for investigation because these symptoms could create a safety risk when entering traffic or accelerating.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle started shaking abnormally. Occasionally, while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle jerked hard. Additionally, the contact stated that the message "Emissions System Failure," "Engine Overheating - Turn off Immediately," and other unknown messages were displayed, with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an affiliate dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the head gasket needed to be replaced, and the engine needed to be disassembled to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

The abs module failed. It is designed to fail as the wires are super thin. Repair quote was $4,000. The part, I’m sure, is then sent out and fixed cheaply then resold for a premium.

I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2021 Honda Accord because of a serious safety issue involving the turbocharger and fuel injector system. While driving on the highway, my vehicle experienced a failure related to the turbocharger and fuel injector system, which caused multiple warning sensors to activate and resulted in the vehicle suddenly losing power and becoming unable to continue driving. This unexpected failure forced my car to stop in the middle of the highway, placing me and other motorists at significant risk of a serious accident or fatality. A vehicle should not suddenly become inoperable while traveling at highway speeds due to a mechanical defect. This creates an extremely dangerous situation, especially in heavy traffic where other drivers may not have sufficient time to react. After researching this issue, I discovered that numerous other owners of 2021 Honda Accords have reported similar failures involving the fuel injectors and turbocharger. Given the number of reported incidents and the serious safety risks associated with these failures, I believe this represents a potential defect that warrants investigation. I respectfully request that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigate this issue and require Honda to issue a safety recall if appropriate. No driver should have to experience a sudden loss of power that leaves them stranded in moving traffic due to an apparent vehicle defect.

Head gasket failure, coolant leaking into cylinder 1 and 3. Car stuttering when try to accelerate and has trouble getting up to speed on highway. Coolant mixing with oil, rear main seal leak. It is available for inspection currently at dealership where it was diagnosed. My safety was jeopardized because I barely can accelerate on the highway causing cars to tail gate me and potentially crash into the back of me. The issue has been confirmed by Honda service department as a faulty head gasket. There were no warnings signs, no overheating nor any smoke indications of a faulty failing head gasket only stuttering at low spreads and not being able to accelerate. The problem first appeared a day or so before I brung it to Honda for a diagnosis. These are well none litigated issues with these head gaskets and are safety concerns that they’re failing to address.

A motor mount bolt sheared causing the engine to shift violently making the vehicle undrivable. The car was driving in a residential area traveling at a low rate of speed, making a right turn when it occurred. Had it happened on a highway, the result could have been catastrophic. The car was towed to the dealer where it was purchased. The dealer stated that since the vehicle was out of warranty, they would not make any exceptions. We have reported this to Honda Corporate and are waiting for a response but felt that because of the safety concerns we should also report this to NHTSA.
