Ever since purchasing this vehicle 2nd hand, it has had "Fuel Rail Pressure Too Low" and "Lost Communication with Fuel Pump Control Module" intermittently. Attempted to fix with a mechanic, had fuel control module replaced. It occurred again, so had fuel pump replaced. It still randomly stalls out, leaving us in danger on the roadway. Pulling into traffic can be dangerous, since a stall-out would guarantee a collision with on-coming traffic. Engine light stays on when it stalls, eventually will start again, and light disappears. This has been an ongoing problem over the last 2 years. Vehicle can only be used for local driving in the event of being stranded, sometimes on a monthly basis. Recently now, the Transmission Control Module has stopped working and needs to be replaced (as of 3/6/23). Mechanic says these parts are on backorder for 1+ years.

My car I believe is transmission problem I just paid Ford to fix my car for $784.00 do to the care just completely stopped while driving and it shut down while driving and wouldn't restart. I have the receipt showing what the problem was suppose to be. Now 3 weeks later while driving the car I noticed it loses speed while driving and sound as if it want to cut off. I have a code popping up as PO3A7. I don't understand when my car was diagnosis this didn't pick up I'm thinking ford have know of the different problems with the engine or transmission and its began to be at the expense of the customers.

The contact's mother-in-law owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving from a complete stop, the vehicle was shuddering and hesitated while responding. The contact's mother-in-law was able to continue driving; however, the failure reoccurred, and the transmission was slipping while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the transmission clutch was replaced twice within a year and two months; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the transmission control module (TCM) was replaced and reprogrammed, and the transmission clutch position was adjusted under warranty. Additionally, the vehicle was test-driven; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission clutch needed to be replaced at the owner's expense as the warranty had expired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not provide any assistance. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. When driving the car will just shut itself down. We took the car to a Ford dealership in Sterling Colorado in October of 2021 and was told that there was a recall on the electronic control module, transmission control module and that due to Covid it would take up to 8 months for the part to come in. When we contacted the dealership at the end of the 8 month wait they stated that they couldn’t repair the car to take it to a different dealership in Wray Colorado . We were again told that it could take several months to get the part in, we waited for several months for the part and it still didn’t come in. We contacted Ford about the issue and they told us to take the car back to the first dealership and have them put it on the computer just to confirm that it was the electronic control module, transmission control module and it would be taken care of. We did that and now Ford is telling us that they won’t fix the car because they can’t get the part, they want us to pay for a new transmission at the tune of $8000.00 and said that since the car was over 80,000 miles and out of the original warranty they won’t cover the repair for a new transmission. The dealership said the only way to fix the car is to have a new transmission control module or a new transmission. The recall on the transmission module covers the car up to 150,000 miles and our car has under 127,000 miles on it. We have tried since 2021 to get this taken care of.

The vehicle had a recall on the clutch that is faulty AGAIN, only after 2.5 years from the last repair. This part has been replaced 2 times and now needs to be replaced a third time. The vehicle frequently and unexpectedly stalls during acceleration and is a tremendous safety issue; however Ford is stating the part was already repaired under the recall once and will not repair it a second time, even though it is the same function and safety issue as the previous recall only 2.5 years ago

The radio made unpredictable loud booming and crackling noises even with the radio turned off and including when the car engine was initially turned off until all courtesy lights were off. These jolting noises scared me, caused me to be a tense and distracted driver and potentially prohibited me from hearing outside sounds I should have been aware of. The independent service center confirmed this was a recognized problem with this vehicle. Other than the repair center, the problem has not been inspected by others. There were no warning signs of the problem.

While accelerating from a complete stop, the car frequently jerks and sputters while it appears to be attempting to switch gears. This has been a problem since I bought the car pre-owned in 2020 but it has become much more frequent and instead of doing a single jerk or sputter when stepping on the gas, it does it much more. I did research more and it appears the make, model, and year were part of a recall prior to my owning the vehicle for what seems to be the same issue; however, my VIN was not part of that recall.

We purchased this 2015 Ford Focus SE in July 2020 and took it to Pocaro Ford in Racine, WI to have the transmission checked out and flushed. The car had 70K on it and the transmission was jerking and laggy. They said it was fine and did not need to be fixed. Fast forward two and half years and 20K more and now the transmission clutches need to be replaced with 90K on the transmission. The extended warranty because of the class action suit went for 100K or 7 years. The cars warranty ran out in August 2022 even though we asked to have it repaired in 2020 and were told that it was not an issue and was normal. When we were in parameters for the warranty service, they told us it did not need it even though the transmission jerked and lagged causing issues. Now that we have to pay for it, they say it is a problem. I called FORD customers service and they say there is nothing they can do. FORD is ripping people off and creating a dangerous situation. The car belongs to my 21 year old daughter and I had no idea it was as bad as it was until I moved it a few weeks ago and told her that she should have told me it was that bad. She just thought it was how the car was supposed to drive. FORD won't help with the issue and just states we now have to pay between $2500 and $3000 to get it fixed. The car is available upon inspection and we have the paperwork showing we had the transmission serviced in 2020 becuase we thought it was jerky and a problem.

The check engine light came and the code for CPV show up. When you put gas in it doesn't start up right away like it suppose to. And the acceleration take time on occasion. Basically what the recall said for the car. But the dealship says my Vin numbet doesn't match the recalled so I don't know what to do.

Transmission fault!!! Once I noticed the previous recall on the gas tank valve it ultimately stopped my vehicle. I cannot drive it due to first running out of gas from fault in miles to empty. Car would out of nowhere stop driving as well as barely start. The gas already reading incorrect, the. Now the transmission light continues to come on. I almost crashed more than once with kids in the car due to it after 2hours of driving fine, immediately stopping and not allowing the car to drive. Gas tank recall when sent into the dealership yet the issue is still there. It is obvious because the miles to empty are still wrong cause me to possibly put too much has not enough gas. It is very unsafe to drive.

Transmission on these fords are bad!!!!not only me but everyone I know with a ford focus has had some issue with their transmission. My car has spontaneously stopped driving while kids in car. Transmission fault service light and engine light will immediately come on when car starts or it will give you about 1 mile to drive before it shuts car down. Recently dealership “fixed recalls” fuel tank. It is not fixed. I also believe it is the reason my transmission fault come on. I have had the car since April 2022 drove for a few month ran out of gas, because I believed it was wrong because it always is ultimately I only ran out of gas. Since that day I’ve had major issues. The transmission light was never on until a few months ago, it did use to stall when attempting to start. It would show up spontaneously and once it happens there is nothing you can do. It is very dangerous! I have gotten recalls “fixed” drove the vehicle for 2hours the miles to empty were still reading wrong, dealership said give it a few miles. It never changed, it is still wrong I’m pretty sure this issue of the fuel tank has brought on transmission issues that are very alarming and costly. The dealership did not successfully fix the issue with the fuel tank because of the obvious of the miles to empty, also engine light came back on, and ultimately did shut the car back down.
