SummaryCertain 2021 Model Year F-150 Vehicles Heated Mirror and Integrated Trailer Relay Module Reflash Additional labor allowance to clear the potential unavailable brake assist message. Some of the affected vehicles may have software logic errors affecting the heated mirror and the ITRM. The heated mirror may not output heat at temperatures below zero degrees Celsius. Also, a battery drain may occur under a certain sequence of events due to a logic error in the ITRM. Under certain specific sequence, the ITRM battery drain may result in the inability to start the vehicle .A customer could experience a battery drain within 14 hours under the following conditions: the trailer is connected, vehicle is unlocked, parked, and the engine is off.

In the interim, PCM functionality can be restored by going to: PTS Home Page > Rotunda > Diagnostic Tool Support > Download Software > 2021 F150 5.0L PCM Reset App. Follow the instructions included with the Zip file. Once PCM functionality has been restored, change the engine oil and filter and reset the engine oil change reminder. For claiming, use causal part 12A650 and M-time.

Ford is developing an update to the test screens which is expected to be delivered to the vehicle via over-the-air (OTA) SYNC update in July 2021. Let the customer know they can continue to drive the vehicle and advise to connect to their FordPass account and enable the vehicle to accept the OTA. Schedule a follow-up appointment for July 2021, and contact the customer to understand if OTA was received, and confirm if the service appointment is going forward. Monitor OASIS for updates.

First, an FDRS session must be created on the vehicle prior to removing the faulted module. Once the session is started, run the Programmable Module Installation and replace the module only when instructed by FDRS. Installing a new module prior to starting a scan tool session may result in incomplete module configuration with DTCs U2100, U2101 and/or U2200. Once a session has been started, continue to follow normal WSM procedures to repair the vehicle.

This is due to a concern with the Google application on the customers device. Google has released a fix for these concerns. For Android phones not connecting wirelessly, request that the customer update their Android Auto version to 6.1 or later. For customers whos Android phone reboots when connected via USB, request that the customer update their Chrome application to 88.0.4324.181 or later. The customers service provider should be able to assist customers having difficulty updating their device. This is not a warrantable repair
